Prozac tremors

Common Questions and Answers about Prozac tremors

Avatar n tn Rest Tremors and Postural Tremors. Rest tremors are the tremors seen in Parkinson's Disease; this type of tremor disappears with sleep and occurs when the patient is awake but inactive. Postural tremors include physiological tremors/essential tremors which are tremors that are absent at rest but occur during intentional activities (holding arms outstretched in front of the body, writing).

Avatar n tn He stopped the Pravachol about a month ago in case it might be a statin reaction. He just stopped the Prozac 4 days ago as it can cause tremors. Meanwhile his primary doctor sent him to a spine specialist. He does have some disk herneation in the lumbar region, but she does not feel it is sufficient to be causing the weakness and tremors. He really can't work in this condition--walks like an 8o year old with a cane because his legs get so shaky.
Avatar f tn After a pacemaker surgery I started having terrible tremors face muscle twitching slurred speech weakness of legs and arms. the diagnosis has been mixed anxiety, stress. poast traumatic stress, bizzare. Paxil made it worse. Ativan made me relax but still had the tremors. Physical therapy and occupational helped to strngthen my muscle and increased my endurance a bit but I am still weak. Now I am on Prozac and Klonopin and still have these attacks.

Avatar n tn Hi, I have been taking Prozac for exactly 4 weeks for anxiety and some panic attacks and absolutely hate the side effects that this medicine brings me. I have never felt so tired in my life. I have been slowly tapering off this med by taking one 20mg capsule every 3 days. I still have the fatigue and have tremors and really bad insomnia. Will these side effects ever go away and if so how long will it take? Please reply.
Avatar f tn I sometimes get inner tremors. My doctor has switch me to Prozac 20 mg. hoping this will help. My daughter did very well on Prozac. What causes the shaking and do you thing the Prozac will make a difference. I have not started it yet. I am also on 180 mg of Cartia and a potassium supplement.

Avatar m tn I am currently having neurological problems. Having hand tremors (both hands) Myoclonus jerks, severe itching on left forearm for no reason one two minute bout with double vision with eye pain and twitching. Take 40 mg of Prozac a day for depression and anxiety. Was a drinker for 20 years but quit 4 years ago. Just got back from neurologist and she said she thinks its psycogenic tremors or my past alcohol use and maybe a pinched nerve in back causing the myoclonus jerks.
Avatar n tn I got off Prozac because it started causing me to stutter, have tremors, have high blood pressure and lose my memory. Since tapering off and coming off it completely these side effects have all diminished except some minor loss of memory at times. I found out there is a new long term study out on Prozac and it is linked to causing Parkinsons symptoms.
Avatar m tn In about 3-12% of studies about Prozac, there were reported tremors as adverse reaction, depending a little bit on cause of Rx. On the other hand, 1-5% of persons included in that study who took placebos reported exactly the same. It could be other reasons too. I was ready to blame trembling on the use of citalopram, but when I cut down on coffee, I learned something else... Someone else than me might have a better answer?
Avatar n tn I have essesential tremors and take medication (Propranolol SA -160mg) for them. I also take Clonazepam - 0.5mg for anxiety and Prozac - 20mg to help with my nervousness and anxiety. These medications do help, but I have noticed over the past year that my shaky head syndrome and my shaky legs while driving has gotten worse. It is getting to the point that I am barely able to drive, and I have noticed that my head is shaking more than it used to.
Avatar f tn I would specially suggest that you evaluate your thyroid disorder (overactive) thoroughly that can be the potential cause of your tremors. In addition, thyroid disorder may result into anxiety that can also be reason of your tremors. I would suggest to see endocrinologist & neurologist here who can evaluate possibilities mentioned to you earlier. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn However it should be noted that many medications can interact with lithium by raising or lowering the blood level of lithium. When the blood level of lithium is higher the potential for hand tremors increases. You could discuss all this with your psychiatrist but it will take some time for the Ciraplex to be out of your system so it should take some time for any potential improvement to occur but keep your psychiatrist updated as to how things are going.
Avatar f tn My nephew has a diagnosis of PTSD, anxiety and depression and has been advised to start taking symbyax. He has had adverse reactions to prozac & lithium in the past. He is living alone in CA, far from his family support in CT. I m concerned about him taking this new med without anyone but himself to monitor his reaction to it. Does anyone have current experiences with taking symbyax?
Avatar n tn forgot to say I also am on hormone replacement as well as wellbutrin and prozac! Thanks for taking the time to read all this.
Avatar n tn Posted By Leanne Garvey on November 05, 1997 at 12:44:35: Dear Doctor, I had a mild head injury three years ago, my symptoms include headache, dizziness, slurred speech, blurred vision, memory loss and tremors intermittently. I've been treated with Elavil, Pamelor, Desipramine, Zoloft and now Prozac, most work for a period of time then stop. My MRI was normal, EEG showed slowing in the Temporal and Frontal lobes.
Avatar n tn I have been on prozac (fluxetene) for 14 years now - I was severely depressed - and when I started taking it I was suicidal. After two weeks on Prozac my life changed dramatically - and I have been on it ever since with variations on the dozage - I now take 20 mg daily. (I did try to get off it once because everything in my life was great and felt there was no reason to be depressed - but after weaning myself off the depression came back with a vengence - so I went back on it).
337492 tn?1212458836 About six years ago, when I was still un-polar, I used Wellbutrin by itself and did quite well. I quit taking it after a year and a half and switched to prozac, which allowed my mania to surface (GRR). Anyhow, my question is regarding the generic form of wellbutrin, which I have been on for a week. I am on 75 mg twice a day. I notice I am very shakey with slight tremors at times and my heart rate is averaging around 100 BPM. I see my doc on Tuesday.
Avatar f tn t take it any more, i just take my Prozac and that alone is not helping. Is this a common side affect? will it go away? why did it start after i had been taking the medicine for over a month with no problem?
Avatar n tn I have been on combo therapy for nine months. 5 million IU of Intron A 3x wk & 1200 mg Ribavirin / day. My viral count last September was > 850,000 x 1000. It has recently stalled out at 275,000 x 1000 for the last several months. I understand that the Hep-C virus can mutate and become immune to Interferon treatment. I went on sick leave from work in July due to worsening symptoms and side effects. I have stage 2 liver damage with early bridging fibrosis.
Avatar f tn I have essential tremors and I have been taking Klonopin for a very long time along with Baclofen (for the soreness in my neck muscles). I take 2mg 2x a day of Klonopin and 20mg 2x a day of Baclofen. I also take Prozac 40mg every night. My doctor has been talking about putting me on beta-blockers for my tremors, but he won't do so until I can get my asthma under control (he prescribed Dulera inhaler 2x a day & I also have an Albuterol inhaler).
Avatar f tn I started taking Prozac about a month and a half ago, 20 mg, the reason that I started taking it was more for anxiety than depression. All I wanted to do was sleep.
Avatar m tn Hi all just wished to find out from others past experience of the drug how long one should expect to experience withdrawal effects from prozac. Been off prozac myself for 2 1/2 weeks after changing to mirtazapine and now have buily up to an 45mg dose after 8 1/2 weeks but i'm experiencing a range of strange sensations over this whole period.
Avatar n tn I wrote to you last week with my sexual problem with prozac. I ask you about wellbutrin. Well today I saw my Dr. and he gave me Wellbutrin 300 mg. a day and told me to start it tomorrow. I have been on prozac for 28 days. I am so scared of wellbutrin after reading the side effects people are having, tremors, headachs, dizzy, unable to think, and thinking bad thoughts. I have 3 kids and a job I am scared of what this drug may do to me.
Avatar f tn My doctor has decided that Depression is the cause of my anxiety, and has upped my bupropion to 450 mg a day until the tremors and shaking started, then he lowered me back down to 300. Now I have feel angry or like crying all the time. An explotion can come at anytime, but because the depression was better at 450 mg a day he wants to combine atenolol with it to fight the side effects. I don't like the side effects of either one of these drugs.
Avatar n tn etc I have been taking antidepressants for 6 years or so for panic attacks. I recently switched to Lexapro from Prozac; however, I started experiencing this twitching prior to the switch. It seems to worsen when I feel "high strung." Almost like electricity going through my body at times. A unique symptom occurred last week when I was typing on the computer keyboard and my left hand was tapping on the keyboard by itself (this symptom hasn't occured since).
