778037 tn?1377986200 Hi, Inderal is indicated for the prophylaxis of common migraine headache. The efficacy of propranolol in the treatment of a migraine attack that has started has not been established, and propranolol is not indicated for such use. The initial dose is 80 mg Inderal daily in divided doses. The usual effective dose range is 160 mg to 240 mg per day. The dosage may be increased gradually to achieve optimum migraine prophylaxis.

Avatar f tn I am a 46-year-old female who takes propranolol 10 mg twice a day for BP and HR. For the past 3 days, my blood pressure has run around 150/101 and I have this awful headache where I feel like my head is going to explode. I'm not stressed, nothing has changed diet-wise. I haven't missed any of my medicine. Should I call my doctor or is this normal and will work itself out?

Avatar f tn Around Thanksgiving I got a horrible migraine. It was an 8/10. I tried 6 over the counter medicines, like Dayquil or ibuprofen. It never worked and didn't numb the pain. I went to the ER and they gave me an IV and medicines through that but they also didn't do anything. The doctors there didn't run tests or even say what could be wrong. Avatar f tn To date I hvae been on three medications for my headaches (meloxicam, zomig and propranolol) but nothing seems to help. My headache has lasted for a month straight but it seems to be getting worse. My family doctor seems to think that I have sinus, tension and migraine headaches. The pain and sensitivity to light has become so bad that I have to sit in a dark and not move all night after a day at school. The pain is mainly behind my eye and on my nose bridge, then it spreeds to my forehead.
