Avatar f tn I am hyperthyroid since 2011,I lost a baby after birth due to it(didn't know it was thyroid)in 2013 march I had another baby.who is okay and well.I'm 5weeks pregnant now.what do I do.which drugs is best for me now.on carbimazole and propranolol but have stopped as I confirmed been pregnant.
Avatar f tn these drugs quieten down the symptoms of the overactive thyroid, by blocking the adrenaline-like effects of thyroid hormones. Propranolol tablets are the most frequently used." It is likely your doctor will follow up with you in the coming weeks and monitor your levels and decide what to do after that. Once your thyroid levels are under control, you chances of conceiving will greatly improve.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism last august and have been on propranolol and methimazole since. I was taking four methimazole and now my specialist increased it to 5 and that really makes me sad. I'm gaining weight and feel so awful about myself. Yes i am feeling better which is worth alot but my hot flashes are insane. My pituitary gland is what the specialist refers to as "sleeping" and so I was wondering if you have any suggestions as to how to wake it up.
Avatar f tn So, please post your most recent thyroid labs and include reference ranges (they vary lab to lab and have to come from your own lab report). Are weight gain and tremors your only symptoms?
Avatar f tn She is on 15 mg of methimazole a day and propranolol 4 times a day. At first the levels were not coming down. At our last visit her T3 has moved from a 15.9 to a 7.1. We were very excited to finally see the levels coming down. If her levels are coming down, why does she demonstrate such strong Graves symptoms still...tremors, heat intolorance, eating a lot, nightmares, very moody, joint pain, staring, inability to focus.....
Avatar f tn I have just recently been diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer and have just recently been dealing with a racing heart that last all day long. Usually I would just assume that this is because of work but it starts as soon as i get out of bed and last all day even if im just laying around being lazy.
Avatar f tn I have Graves disease and was put on Methimzole and Propranolol. The combination relieved my hyper symptoms and I was losing weight while on those meds. Eventually it tapered off. I have read thatbwhen you are Hyper you eat much more, I didn't find that to be true, I was so hyper, I could barely eat. I loss over 15 lbs. Once me levels lowered, they did keep me on the dosage ( it was 10 mg per day).

Avatar n tn Anxiety can be brought out by thyroid problems, so would suggest re-evaluating the anxiety after normalizing thyroid function with the methimazole.
Avatar f tn Hi guys! It's been awhile! I got a lot of help here years ago. I've been on the same dose of NP Thyroid for the last several years, I hadn't tested in a long time. I have been under-weight for a few years, but that had seemed to happen in cycles in my life and the previous test to this a couple of years ago was all good..... Thing that has changed: I had been prescribed Propranolol 30 years ago to prevent migraines.
510002 tn?1214073197 but I did my Question to you is the Dr put me on 40 mg 3 times a Day and I want to know do I still take the Propranolol I think the Dr said yes and he will reduce it as times goes on ,he also have me Ativan when needed 7 gm what is this drug for ?
Avatar n tn (Used to take 120mg of NP thyroid) Removal of fluoride has reversed my condition too rapidly for my body’s hormones (it happened in 1 month). Displayed Hyperthyroid symptoms in April. Went to ER 3 times due to heart scares - checked out ok. I was completely off thyroid medication when I developed a heart flutter. Had to go back on a small dose (12.5mcg synthroid) to make it less, but now showing signs of hyperthyroid symptoms again.
Avatar n tn I was hyper and said to have all indications of Graves and was started on Carbimazole 30mg daily and Propranolol in 2007, now I am hypo for the last 1-3 months and on only 5mg daily of Carbimazole. I do blood work every two months. Why am I still on Carbimazole if I am hypo? I read somewhere you said something to the fact that you may not have Graves if you are now hypo. What did you mean? I am having weight gain. Tell me what I can do to combat this and I will do it without question?
Avatar f tn I have a history of migraines for about twenty years. I quit smoking 7 months ago, and started propranolol 20 mg once a day. I gained 30 pounds. My whole body is sore and Im having episodes where my upper body and sometimes legs just feel so heavy and tired I feel like Im going to pass out. Had a Head CT, Head and Neck CTA, CBC, EKG all were normal. Is it related to migraine? ER doctor said it is anxiety. Oh I stopped celexa five months ago because I was extremely fatigued.
Avatar f tn i have sever anxiety and had a blood test few years bak and it ced my thyroid was borderline overactive then wen i was chekd again and saw a specialist it was normal again then in a blood test few months after it was hi again why this happen.
Avatar n tn I read Sertraline reacts with Propranolol. It makes Propranolol more toxic and can give me low BP and bradycardia. Recently my BP was a bit high (140/90) and pulse rate was 72. Shall I take the psychiatric medicines and how should I schedule the medications without suffering a lot?
1504778 tn?1321394645 Hey I'm 18 iv had palpotations everyday for the last 5months or so and chest aches and pains, I went to the cardiolagist and they checked my heart with the tred mill test, heart echo and two 24houre ecgs's they said my hearts well structured and looks like a healthy heart and said what I might be getting is a early heart beat called a ectopic heartbeat. They perscribed me Propraolol to take one in the morning around 9.30 am and one in the evening around 6.
Avatar f tn For those who think Birth control pills might cause hyperthyroidism because you stopped taking it- I don't think that's true. I have been on the pill for 10 years. I never stopped taking it and I still developed Hyperthyroidism. If this also helps... I have a twin sister and she doesn't have Hyperthyroidism. However, my mom and my aunt has had hyperthyroidism. I got unlucky I guess. I am taking propranolol to help calm down my heart rate. It goes over 115 -120 sometimes.
Avatar m tn My hair is falling out, I sweat at the drop of a hat, lose my temper over the tiniest thing and my eyes have swelling and irritation. I finally saw an endo last week and she thinks I have Graves but my test results today show free T3 and T4 within the normal range even though TSH is suppressed. I was supposed to have RAI uptake scan today with ablation treatment to follow but had to cancel due to a CT Scan with contrast I had done last week.
2899052 tn?1436831245 I'm recently diagnosed with hyperthyroidism with Graves' disease. The endocrinology doctor prescribed me Methimazole 10mg (3 tablets) in morning, that's 30mg. I also have to take Propranolol (3 times a day) every 8 hours to control my palpitation. I'm very concerned about take Methimazole because I heard it will give me liver problem and I'm very scared of taking radioactive because it can harm my eyes. Am I wrong? I need to know if they are they safe?
