Avatar f tn What kind of imaging did they do to discover the fatty liver and hemangioma? Do you know how large your hemangioma is? Typical, hemangiomas are left alone if they are under 5 cm and not causing you any symptoms or pain. For fatty liver, usually the doctors would want to figure out what is causing it, if not diet or alcohol related. Low fat diet and exercise are highly recommended for fatty liver, along with abstinence from alcohol.
Avatar f tn I have a follow-up MRI for a 5mm lesion that looks like hemangioma on u/s and MRI. Now, HR has already said that MRI is very good for determining hemangioma from HCC but is that still true in a lesion as small as 5mm? Thanks!
Avatar f tn I have a history of migraines for about twenty years. I quit smoking 7 months ago, and started propranolol 20 mg once a day. I gained 30 pounds. My whole body is sore and Im having episodes where my upper body and sometimes legs just feel so heavy and tired I feel like Im going to pass out. Had a Head CT, Head and Neck CTA, CBC, EKG all were normal. Is it related to migraine? ER doctor said it is anxiety. Oh I stopped celexa five months ago because I was extremely fatigued.
Avatar f tn I read that too much potassium doesn’t work well while on propranolol because while on it the body does not excrete potassium as normally and you can get levels that are too high. Could this be the cause or is there an adjustment period while taking propranolol? I’ve been drinking pomegranate juice and cherry juice, 4 oz of each, with breakfast this past week. These are very high in potassium. Something is making me feel very strange and I’m hoping it wears off.

Avatar n tn The ultrasound of my liver found the mass to be hypovascular and said it could be a hemangioma but to watch it because it is pressing on a hepatic vein. I was wondering if my polycystic ovary syndrome could be the cause of this mass and if it gets any bigger could it cause damage to my liver, since it is pressing on a vein? Please help!

3122467 tn?1342138836 To deal with it, I take a beta blocker, propranolol, and it works beautifully. Not only does it take care of the akathisia it also treats anxiety. Once i ran out of propranolol because it hadn't arrived from the mail order pharmacy and the akathisia came back so I know two things... I still have it and propranolol stops it.

Avatar f tn I 40yrs old, 115lbs and I pretty much healthy foods and only drink once a week if that and it’s when I go out to eat so I’m not binging or anything. I thought I was having gallbladder issues. I went to my Dr and he sent me for an ultrasound. The ultrasound came back that I am recommended for an MRI. I am in horrible pain and I’m afraid they won’t do anything to help. Could gallbladder issues be causing one of these or is it strictly liver issues on its own ?
Avatar f tn Most people who have a liver hemangioma never experience signs and symptoms and never need treatment. Hemangiomas are four to six times more common in women than in men. Very large hemangiomas can cause symptoms, especially if they are positioned near other organs. Pain, nausea, or enlargement of the liver can occur. If a hepatic hemangioma is large, especially if it is causing symptoms, surgical removal is an option.
19070278 tn?1471892750 In most people, liver hemangioma will never grow and never cause any signs and symptoms. But in a small number of people, liver hemangioma will grow to cause complications and require treatment. It's not clear why this happens.

Avatar f tn re not also busy diagnosing and treating the flu and heart problems and body pain etc. So theoretically they become much more expert in it and the interactions between drugs and things like quitting smoking and also in the appropriate drugs to prescribe for a certain condition. Beta blockers, for example, have only been found effective for social anxiety, which doesn't mean they don't work for some people for other things but that's not their main use in anxiety treatment.
Avatar f tn Ultrasound is usually the initial test that detects a suspected hemangioma. Follow up tests are used to confirm the diagnosis. Avatar f tn I've been taking Propranolol for high blood pressure and tachycardia(10mg at 8am, 2pm, and 8pm) for about 18 days now, and four days ago I woke up feeling quite dizzy.
