Avatar f tn In some specific cases where treatment is require, the mode of treatment includes external compression therapy, topical steroids , topical antiseptics like Eosin, which also has antiangiogenic properties, high dose oral corticosteroids , propranolol, vascular laser therapy and medicines like vincristine and imiquimod . I would suggest an examination by a dermatologist to confirm the diagnosis.
Avatar m tn Surgical resection was undertaken in 14 patients (41%) after a mean follow-up time of 36.5 months. The indication for treatment was progressive abdominal pain in 78.6% (11/14). Mean size of resected lesions was larger compared to non-resected lesions (10.3 vs 4.8 cm; P = 0.004). Postoperative morbidity occurred in three patients (21.4%). One patient had persisting abdominal pain after resection of an 8-cm hemangioma.
Avatar f tn My mother has already done a surgery for slipped disc but the pain has always been there. In her recent MRI it is mentioned that she has a focal hemangioma. What is a focal hemangioma (in L2)? How can it be treated? Also it also says At C5/C6 Impingement of right C6 nerve root due to disc osteophyte complex. what does this mean?
Avatar n tn Hi, Thank you for your question. Usually, propranolol (beta blocker) is suggested for prophylactic treatment of migraine. Acute or prompt treatment require over the counter pain killers and triptans. Avoiding the triggering factors of cluster headache might help you in order to prevent its recurrence. Hope it helps.
Avatar f tn I also do take the beta-blocker pindolol which has kept my BP at 125/70 for years. Shrink says very occasional and use of propranolol on top of pindolol should not be a problem but I still have concerns which I will run by my GP. I actually did receive a call from my pharmacy pointing out the risk of a low BP problem. So...I am wondering if anyone has used propranolol or has an educated opinion on both its use in ED and possible interactions.

1251333 tn?1445218215 I do have tremors but for various reasons I decided not to take any medication, so i don't have personal experience with propranolol sorry. At this stage there still seems to be a distinct lack of research and treatment options for MS tremor's. It's one of the MS issues that doesn't have a good track record treatment wise for some reason and tremor treatments can actually worsen fatigue so it can be very hit and miss help wise unfortunately...
Avatar f tn We have consulted various doctors and a Dermatologist for this matter. He verified it to be Cavernous Hemangioma. We did received the advice from the the doctors and Dermatologist that they usually disappear themselves upto/by the age of 5yrs or in some cases little longer. After about 1 month, the skin on the Hemangioma in the back shoulder started drying and it had created a small wound. The baby was more often crying then normal when the wound was interacted.
Avatar n tn weight for example. What is a perfect dose for an adult male would probably be too much for a preteen girl. It's important to talk to a doctor or poison control in case treatment is needed.

Avatar n tn Yesterday I was having a massage and the therapist noticed a cyst or small fatty tissue on the T3,T4 area which is the center of the pain for me. When I got home last night I read my MRI report and it states a incidental hemangioma at T4. So I then got on the net and found this site and it seams there's heaps of us with the same story. My questions now are what is the best treatment? has anyone got any advise or has had treatment?

19070278 tn?1471892750 I did find some info from mayo clinic . Org It's not clear what causes a liver hemangioma to form. Doctors believe liver hemangioma is congenital — meaning that you're born with it. Liver hemangioma usually occurs as a single abnormal collection of blood vessels that is less than about 1.5 inches (about 4 centimeters) wide. Occasionally liver hemangiomas can be larger or occur in multiples. In most people, liver hemangioma will never grow and never cause any signs and symptoms.
Avatar n tn I recently had an ultrasound to check for Gallstones and everything was normal with the exception of a 9 mm Liver Hemangioma. Could this be causing the symptoms that I am having? I had an ultrasound done 1 yr prior and the Hemangioma has not changed. The only thing that currently helps is taking Zantac. Also, should I be concerned about a future pregnancy with the hemangioma?
Avatar f tn left hepatic lobe mass has signal characteristics suggestive of an atypical hemangioma. Given that the lesion does not completely fill in with contrast and history of Hepatitis C surveillance would be warranted in six months to twelve months. Now also from the MRI besides the summary of the impression, they listed all the abdominal findings.
Avatar n tn sometimes Tenex is also used in conjunction with stimulants to help control ADHD symptoms....first I have heard of inderal (brand name for propranolol) being used but makes sense...Always to remember to ask your doctor any questions about your meds and health care...the only stupid questions are the ones not asked....Also beta blockers are also given to help control migraines to regulate fluxs in BP...not because too high but slight changes can trigger migraines...
Avatar f tn For example, tumor growths that affect the ability of the eye to see, the ear to hear, or the passage of air in and out of the lungs are frequently candidates for surgical treatment. Tumors that have ulcerated are also common candidates for surgical treatment. Surgery after involution can be used to remove remaining scar tissue.
Avatar f tn Talk to you doctor about this on your next follow-up for proper evaluation. Medical treatment may be done but in majority of cases, they will resolve on their own. Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar n tn Apparently, splenic haemangiomas are the commonest benign tumours of the spleen, and the majority are asymptomatic, being diagnosed as an incidental finding on investigative procedures for other disorders so he may be right in terms of it being the cause of your episodic retching. I would imagine if it caused any bloating of your spleen and possible rupture, then you might want to have it removed, but of course you need to discuss this with a GI doc. You may want to seek a second opinion.
