Avatar n tn Hi, Thank you for your question. Usually, propranolol (beta blocker) is suggested for prophylactic treatment of migraine. Acute or prompt treatment require over the counter pain killers and triptans. Avoiding the triggering factors of cluster headache might help you in order to prevent its recurrence. Hope it helps.
Avatar f tn I also do take the beta-blocker pindolol which has kept my BP at 125/70 for years. Shrink says very occasional and use of propranolol on top of pindolol should not be a problem but I still have concerns which I will run by my GP. I actually did receive a call from my pharmacy pointing out the risk of a low BP problem. So...I am wondering if anyone has used propranolol or has an educated opinion on both its use in ED and possible interactions.

Avatar n tn I have been suffering with accute pain for over 4 years now, over that period I have recently found out that there is a hemangioma in T1. The surgeon I have seen in Leeds accepts that the hemangioma can be excised, but that he after consultation with his colleagues has come to the conclusion that it is benign and cannot therefore be causing the pain. However, neither can they find any other cause of the pain. Can anyone recommend a specialist who recognises the condition?
Avatar n tn weight for example. What is a perfect dose for an adult male would probably be too much for a preteen girl. It's important to talk to a doctor or poison control in case treatment is needed.
1251333 tn?1445218215 I do have tremors but for various reasons I decided not to take any medication, so i don't have personal experience with propranolol sorry. At this stage there still seems to be a distinct lack of research and treatment options for MS tremor's. It's one of the MS issues that doesn't have a good track record treatment wise for some reason and tremor treatments can actually worsen fatigue so it can be very hit and miss help wise unfortunately...
Avatar f tn We have consulted various doctors and a Dermatologist for this matter. He verified it to be Cavernous Hemangioma. We did received the advice from the the doctors and Dermatologist that they usually disappear themselves upto/by the age of 5yrs or in some cases little longer. After about 1 month, the skin on the Hemangioma in the back shoulder started drying and it had created a small wound. The baby was more often crying then normal when the wound was interacted.
Avatar m tn There were 34 patients identified. The hemangioma size was 5 cm in 19 patients. The most common reason for referral was right upper abdominal pain in 59% (20/34) of patients. Abdominal ultrasound was conclusive in 66.7% (16/24) and four-phase computed tomography (CT) in 82.6% (19/23) of patients. Surgical resection was undertaken in 14 patients (41%) after a mean follow-up time of 36.5 months. The indication for treatment was progressive abdominal pain in 78.6% (11/14).
Avatar n tn Yesterday I was having a massage and the therapist noticed a cyst or small fatty tissue on the T3,T4 area which is the center of the pain for me. When I got home last night I read my MRI report and it states a incidental hemangioma at T4. So I then got on the net and found this site and it seams there's heaps of us with the same story. My questions now are what is the best treatment? has anyone got any advise or has had treatment?

1580703 tn?1651904887 is Resveratrol a possible risky treatment for fatty liver+hemangioma? it is really serious if I have just 1-2 standard drinks I lose my hearing I'm handicapped and speech sounds like a blur and I am nauseous and vomit. I had 2 strokes already and am handicapped from that I can't get the toxins out of my body because of the liver disease.
19070278 tn?1471892750 I did find some info from mayo clinic . Org It's not clear what causes a liver hemangioma to form. Doctors believe liver hemangioma is congenital — meaning that you're born with it. Liver hemangioma usually occurs as a single abnormal collection of blood vessels that is less than about 1.5 inches (about 4 centimeters) wide. Occasionally liver hemangiomas can be larger or occur in multiples. In most people, liver hemangioma will never grow and never cause any signs and symptoms.
Avatar n tn sometimes Tenex is also used in conjunction with stimulants to help control ADHD symptoms....first I have heard of inderal (brand name for propranolol) being used but makes sense...Always to remember to ask your doctor any questions about your meds and health care...the only stupid questions are the ones not asked....Also beta blockers are also given to help control migraines to regulate fluxs in BP...not because too high but slight changes can trigger migraines...
Avatar f tn I have Hepatitis C and have had it for 30 years now. I feel healthy. The only complaint I have is mild pain underneath my bra area on the right hand side. I have had that pain for several years, approx., 10 to 12 years. I went into see my gastroenterologist because i wanted to start the medicine to help clear this hepatitis-c virus. He ran all types of blood work including a AFP which was in normal range at 4.3. All the other blood work was normal.
Avatar f tn My mother has already done a surgery for slipped disc but the pain has always been there. In her recent MRI it is mentioned that she has a focal hemangioma. What is a focal hemangioma (in L2)? How can it be treated? Also it also says At C5/C6 Impingement of right C6 nerve root due to disc osteophyte complex. what does this mean?
Avatar f tn For example, tumor growths that affect the ability of the eye to see, the ear to hear, or the passage of air in and out of the lungs are frequently candidates for surgical treatment. Tumors that have ulcerated are also common candidates for surgical treatment. Surgery after involution can be used to remove remaining scar tissue.
Avatar f tn Treatment with both propranolol and fluvoxamine may result in slower heart rate and low blood pressure. Your doctor may need to adjust the dosage. Otherwise, clonazepam can be taken together with propranolol.
Avatar f tn If I’m reading the dates correctly, you have completed the prescribed treatment for HCV, and remained virus free for approximately five months post treatment. This is highly predictive of SVR (sustained viral response), and is excellent news. You might want contact your doctor for confirmation, and see if he/she wants to conduct further testing. Regarding the hemangioma; these are typically benign, and don’t require intervention unless other problems exist.
Avatar f tn Talk to you doctor about this on your next follow-up for proper evaluation. Medical treatment may be done but in majority of cases, they will resolve on their own. Take care and keep us posted.
1243620 tn?1274790697 Does anyone take propranolol for anxiety and panic attacks? I've had crippling anxiety for my whole life. Antidepressants increase it to the point where I'm in such a state I almost pass out from hypervenitlating. I've heard propranolol is good for this, and is effective.
