diet

Avatar m tn The dietitians recommendation, based on a study published in the Journal of American Nutrition and Diet, recommends a high calcium and oxalate diet on the theory that such a diet will have the calcium and oxalate combine in the digestive track before they get to the kidney. An additional concern is that the urologist recommended diet cuts out many food groups that I have come to believe are good for you: whole wheat bread and pasta, beans, leafy green vegetables, nuts, green tea, chocolate.
1494170 tn?1361750860 MedTV Cirrhosis Diet Similar to people without cirrhosis, people with cirrhosis should limit their intake of fats and eat lots of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and other heart-healthy foods. Avatar f tn Eat daily high fiber breads and cereals (oatmeal). Some people have claimed that avoiding dairy and gluten in their diet has helped them with their MS; however, there is no clear research evidence. It is a personal choice. Hoped this has helped you.
400099 tn?1282954864 From what I know the only diet that has some backing to actually working is the Ornish diet. If you go to his website and read the information, this very strict regimen or diet, exercise, meditation, etc. has been shown to reduce artherolsclerosis (hardening of the arteries) . That said, most of these diets do have you eating in a healthy way, and our bodies naturally respond to eliminating sugars, white flours, refined foods, animal byproducts, etc.
2000931 tn?1401563007 ve started following some dietary guidelines, and it would be nice to know if there are other having any success with this. I could kill for a slice of pizza right now, but ... no wheat!

5009178 tn?1369953775 How far along were you when you first found out you were pregnant and did you immediately start eating better and following strict guidelines or did you eat normal and if Anyone has children already id like your opinion on dieting and how much it matters during the pregnancy!
Avatar m tn As for rice, white or brown, it has the same effect on my blood sugar (a bad one!) and so I have cut it out of my diet. Pumpernickel works for me and does not spike my glucose levels. The best pasta to eat is a brand called "Dreamfields"; it is specially processed to reduce the amount of digestible carbs. It is delicious and has a low glycemic index. I read the other posters re:glycemic index but I disagree with them. I have managed to lower my A1C from a 9.
572651 tn?1530999357 The most recent book by Montel Williams discusses how he feels so much better eating a diet high in fruits and vegetables, and organic too. He also takes many supplements. This "whole foods" approach is supposedly the best dietary approach to chronic disease, though it is very expensive (at least in Delaware) and time consuming as far as food preparation. There is only one problem I have been wondering about.
Avatar f tn Suggest increasing the fiber in your diet, which is whole grains, fruits, and vegetables if you have not already. For whole grains, for example: oatmeal for breakfast, whole wheat breads, oatmeal cookies, bran muffins, whole-wheat pasta, and brown rice. Serve fruit and vegetables in any form, raw or cooked. Salads are great if she will eat it. The most important aspect to increased fiber is increasing your fluid intake.
880023 tn?1241744504 my diet while pregnant was eat whatever they want. and thankfully that was mainly fruits and vegs. till the end...then it was **** **** ****. yeah...chips, ice cream, cake, cookies, chocolate......
Avatar n tn You just need a balanced diet like the old days with lots of vegetables, lean protein and fruit. Eat little sugar. Substitute water for all those high-sugar drinks everybody downs in huge quantities. Be aware beer and liquor has calories. You can't just opt out from a healthy diet and eat a single food source like a protein bar or something. Balance, variety, lots of color, home-cooked, not processed and packaged.
599170 tn?1300973893 fast food is not a good diet for a pregnant woman. i know i did crave the big macs and whoppers but i also ate a well balanced diet. have you asked her ob to explain the importance of a well balanced diet to her? that it's what the baby needs? s/he may be able to get through to her.

Tbd Hi there. Sodium or salt is one of those tricky things in that there is so much in our food that we may not even know. Secret salt, I call it. A can of tomatoes or a can of soup can be very high in sodium! To answer your question, 200 mg of salt a day is not too much. Actually the guideline from the American Heart Association is up to 2300 mg of salt a day! Now, that's the upper range of being 'okay' and you should check with your doctor for where they want you to be.
Avatar f tn I wouldn't recommend it because you maybe cutting out some very important nutrition that your growing baby will need. And you may become vulnerable to some bacteria that maynot be safe for you and your baby. But ask your physician about that before you make that decision.
Avatar f tn PHASE 2 IS ON THE HCG DIET. I CAN'T USE CRYSTAL LIGHT OR ANY OF SUGAR FREE DRINKS SO I WAS THINKING SINCE IT HAS NO ARTIFICAL SWEETENERS I COULD SWEETEN IT WITH STEVIA, BUT IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT PHASE 2 OR THE HCG DIET IS THEN THIS REALLY WOULDN'T HELP. THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT THOUGH.
1407457 tn?1281317353 I mean some only allow you 30 carbs a day...which is nothing! And very hard for somebody to live like that. I follow my diet/weight on a site called (without all the spaces) www.m y f i t n e s s p a l.com and I love it! It totals all the amounts of calories, fats, carbs, sugars and almost anything else. Here are a few tips that I picked up while I was at my lowest weight (271 with a weight loss of 62lbs!
1679858 tn?1346765181 Of course, we all know that eating right is going to help us feel better regardless, but is there any correlation between Chiari and low blood sugar, or Chiari and light headedness due to diet causing more weakness? Or Chiari and brain fog due to diet? I know this is somewhat of a loaded question, but I also know this is the only place I'm going to find an answer! Thanks for any input!
Avatar f tn What your husbands must do is follow diabetes nutritional guidelines, aka proper nutrition. Proper nutrition means to accentuate the positive when it comes to food. I dislike the word diet. “Diet” implies a rigorous, self-sacrificial discipline that’s doomed to fail. Instead, focus on achieving food goals of what you should eat each day rather than what you shouldn’t eat.
Avatar f tn To ascertain whether current practice in teaching hospitals in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory delivers adequate dietary protein in the management of malnutrition in adults with cirrhosis, in accordance with European Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism (ESPEN) guidelines for nutrition in liver disease. Avatar n tn I also am following a low carb diet, meaning 20 g of carbs per meal and 15 g for snacks also increasing my protein has helped. I eat about 120 g of protein a day.
Avatar f tn I had a very bad diet last week eating just about everything I wanted. Shot day is friday and saturday I felt ok, to my surprise. Then sunday I woke w/ a huge headache, nausea that was so bad even my seabands werent working. Monday I was still very sick I even went home an hr after arriving to work. Today is Tue and I'm finally starting to feel better still have a slight headache more residual feeling.
Avatar f tn I am wondering if when you started back to school that you also changed to a more "healthy" diet. Your BM's sound very typical for someone who has gone to a high fiber diet and whose body has not adjusted. I don't know what supplements you are taking, but it is very easy to overdo it and have many of the symptoms you have mentioned. I can find nothing in the literature that suggests that diet can affect cervical dysplasia. Google it to see what I mean.
