Avatar f tn ” Sucralose has no effect on blood sugar, offers no calories, and is deemed safe during pregnancy and lactation. According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), sucralose is safe for everyone to consume, including pregnant women." For more info about artificial sweetners, you can either google it, or check out the APA's website (take out the spaces tho): http://www. americanpregnancy. org/pregnancyhealth/artificialsweetner.
Avatar f tn There is research that suggests a high-sugar diet during pregnancy can make the baby more likely to get diabetes. If you are drinking sugared drinks (high fructose corn syrup) please limit yourself to one can a day, even that amount has the equivalent of 12 teaspoons of sugar in it. If you are drinking diet soda, big problems -- the chemicals they use in them are (by some accounts) even worse for you than sugar.
Avatar f tn Drinking a soda a day or even have a cake a day is so much worse. Sugar during pregnancy is something you should avoid! Sip of red wine is fine. Research on the sugar also! Defently something a baby doesn't need!
Avatar f tn t imagine drinking that my husband does though he has bad heartburn but most over the counter antacids are safe during pregnancy as long as you use only as directed tums, and zantac are a few if your symptoms are more severe then normal you should take to your doctor about getting a prescription
5913031 tn?1382391190 Diet soda... Not sure about. Any diet soda is bad for you period whether pregnant or not. Research shows it can cause cancer. Also contains aspartame which is a form of rat poison, anyway. Soda is alright during pregnancy here and there... As long as you don't consume for then 200mg.
Avatar f tn Is diet coke safe during pregnancy? I've heard mix reviews.
Avatar f tn I take my prenatal everyday and I try to eat lots of veggies...SO....if I wanna drink diet coke, I am going to drink diet coke. ESPECIALLY since regular soda is not an option for me.
8339276 tn?1400262023 Diet sodas are very bad, they are usually sweetened with aspartame which is often considered not safe during pregnancy
216278 tn?1308861082 What soda is that? :) If I can find it, I might try it. Aspartame gives me horrible migraines...I can't even chew sugarless gum. I've tried some diet sodas sweetened with Splenda but they just don't taste right. I sometimes get sparkling water and make fizzy Kool Aid using 1/2 Splenda and 1/2 sugar to take away the aftertaste (I like Splenda in tea (hot or cold) and coffee but in Kool Aid and diet soda it has an after taste).
Avatar f tn The aspartame in diet soda is not recommended during pregnancy. It.s safe as long as you don't have more than one or two. The same goes for anything sweetened with sweet n low.if you can limit yourself to one or two a day, I think you should be fine.
Avatar f tn I know that if you are going to drink soda during pregnancy they prefer you drink caffeine free. I don't have a problem with that but I prefer Sprite Zero, is that as safe as regular. I have always heard to stay away from diet drinks but don't know how much truth there is in that.
5898681 tn?1392221010 Diet soda is a no no during pregnancy. It has aspartame in it. My dr said no artificial sweeteners!
6519447 tn?1391770769 Also, keep in mind that while some caffeine is okay during pregnancy, lots of sugar is not. Sugar is bad for your body without a baby, but worse with one. A shocking amount of sugar is in soda, so try not to have more than one a day!
723571 tn?1230827211 I can't think of any safe diet drugs for bfing moms. I agree that all you can do is watch your diet, and that should be enough. I lost a lot of baby weight after my son mainly through dieting. Drinking water instead of juice and soda, making my meals smaller, and trying to do something to every meal to make it healthier. It took about 10 months, but I dropped 45 pounds.
Avatar n tn Ditto the above. Try cutting it with sparkling water (not soda water, too much salt!) until it tastes normal diluted. And try to keep it well under two cans a day. If it's diet, it's full of nasty chemicals, and if it is not, it is full of high-fructose corn syrup (equivalent of 12 teaspoons of sugar per can), and both ways it has lots of caffeine. The sugar thing is not fanciful ...
363110 tn?1340920419 I wanted to mention that small amts of caffeine are considered safe during pregnancy. The March of Dimes apparently says 200mg of caffeine is safe per day in pregnant women. :) My OB with my last pregnancy told me a cup of coffee or can of soda was ok in pregnancy. Be sure to ask your Doctor first to be on the safe side!
Avatar f tn I am super craving root beer and my grandparents only have diet root beer is it safe for me to drink it? Im 22 weeks.
Avatar f tn s not a good idea to drink a lot of sugared soda (especially since high-fructose corn syrup is usually used, and it is equivalent of 12 teaspoons of sugar per can of pop). Too much sugar during pregnancy is implicated in kids getting diabetes later in life. Not that it is a much better idea to drink diet soda, because those are full of pretty nasty chemicals. Try cutting your Coke in half with sparkling water. You might find that there is not a lot of difference in taste.
Avatar f tn This is something you would want to talk to your doctor about. It might not be a bad idea, but there may be a way that your doc would prefer. One thing thats safe and can kinda jump start things though is if you drink soda, cut down and replace it with water. It's amazing how many calories/sugar you get from soda and the pounds you can shed from either cutting down or just giving it up (i still enjoy a soda once in a while myself lol).
Avatar f tn Soda is ok if its caffine free.
Avatar f tn Skip the coke, Mountain Dew or anything with caffeine as much as possible. No artificial sweeteners, they aren't good for the baby. (No diet pop.) Too much sugar isn't good for the baby either, so try to mix in sips of unsweetened tea or chew on ice now and then (you can get ice pops or freeze juices or soup broth in ice cube trays). Peppermint, ginger and lemon are all natural anti-nausea ingredients to look for in teas, and they are all caffeine-free and safe for pregnancy.
1507909 tn?1313633804 there is not that much caffeine in a soda... the issue with the soda is it has no nutritional value, dehydrates your body, and is loaded with sugar... many people drink soda in pregnancy and have no issues..
