Avatar f tn PHASE 2 IS ON THE HCG DIET. I CAN'T USE CRYSTAL LIGHT OR ANY OF SUGAR FREE DRINKS SO I WAS THINKING SINCE IT HAS NO ARTIFICAL SWEETENERS I COULD SWEETEN IT WITH STEVIA, BUT IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT PHASE 2 OR THE HCG DIET IS THEN THIS REALLY WOULDN'T HELP. THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT THOUGH.
1337734 tn?1336234591 Terry Wahls clains to have put her MS to sleep using diet. The keys to her specific diet are typically available for sale on her web site. THis always makes me leary. Our bodies are at war, albeit with themselves. The stronger we can make our bodies, the more able they will be to fight the fight. THis includes a well balanced diet.
Avatar f tn Hello! I was diagnosed with hashimotos disease about 7 years ago. I am currently on 88 mg of Synthroid. I am having lots of symptoms, so I think I'm having a T3/T4 issue. I have an appointment with a new endo in a couple of weeks. However, in the meantime, I've been thinking about my diet. It seems that everything I'm reading says to go gluten free if you have hashimotos. So my question... are you gluten free? Any other dietary restrictions?
2000931 tn?1401563007 I guess I'm now up to four cents worth, Some healthy discussion here and more than a few laughs thanks to the super SuperMum and the one with the golden Guitar. I love the 'regular as a goose' quote. Yes, I am happy to say you may be right about diet, but I'm hoping you're wrong about a holistic program to stop the progression of MS.
Avatar f tn It is recommended that people with MS consume a low-fat/ high fiber diet as the same as the general public. There have been 'diets' that claim to help MS, however, they have not been under strict controlled studies for effectiveness. Generally a healthy diet is recommending lowering your sugar and sodium consummation with a low fat/ high fiber intake.
Avatar m tn Heart Healthy diet which is a moderate fat diet and a moderate fat diet means = using polyunsaturated (omega 3, corn oil, nuts, etc) fats and monounsaturated (olive oil, canola oil, peanut oil, etc) fats, no saturated fats (high fat snack foods, butter, fat spreads) and no trans fats.
Avatar n tn Adam Drewnowski and Allen S. Levine write in the "Journal of Nutrition" that added sugar and fat make up more than 50 percent of the typical American diet and contributes to the obesity epidemic. Craving sweets after a meal can hamper weight loss efforts. You try to deny the craving, only making it more pronounced. If you indulge the craving, stopping with a small serving may be impossible for you.
Avatar f tn I follow a gluten free diet. I have celiac disease. So far it hasn't been easy. I used to pretty much live on tuna fish and lunch meat and now I can't have either. I'm afraid I won't get the nutrients my baby and myself need but I am trying. Luckily many grocery stores around me carry gluten free foods and there is a strict gluten free/dairy free/vegan bakery close by if I get a sweet tooth.
Avatar f tn Add more fiber foods in your diet, adding fiber foods in your diet makes your digestive clean and your excretory system also work well.
Avatar n tn You just need a balanced diet like the old days with lots of vegetables, lean protein and fruit. Eat little sugar. Substitute water for all those high-sugar drinks everybody downs in huge quantities. Be aware beer and liquor has calories. You can't just opt out from a healthy diet and eat a single food source like a protein bar or something. Balance, variety, lots of color, home-cooked, not processed and packaged.
599170 tn?1300973893 fast food is not a good diet for a pregnant woman. i know i did crave the big macs and whoppers but i also ate a well balanced diet. have you asked her ob to explain the importance of a well balanced diet to her? that it's what the baby needs? s/he may be able to get through to her.
404138 tn?1308941656 s health and my own, is there a list of foods I can and cannot eat somewhere on the net that is accurate? My diet right now is not the best and I need to change that.
1494170 tn?1361750860 Hi there, There are no foods or diet specific to HCV; if you have compensated liver disease, you should be able to eat pretty much anything you enjoy; within obvious limits. If your cirrhosis is decompensated, e.g. ascites, encephalopathy, bleeds, then limiting red meats while maintaining adequate protein intake with legumes, white meat chicken, fish, soy products and the like is preferable. Additionally, your doctor might limit your sodium intake as well.
Avatar f tn The nutritionist committed me to one month of perfect eating, sleeping, routine walks and no alcohol. After the month I was symptom free. No headaches, great energy, and the muscle aches have subsided. I've been maintaining the proper diet, sleep, walking and moderation on alcohol. The nutritionist suspected that I was using alcohol and pain releif in excess. Q: why would ACM suffers not be prescribed the natural pain relief instead of always talking about surgery?
Avatar n tn t be fooled by sugar free food items ~ they may be sugar free, however they are probably NOT carbohydrate free and that's the important ingredient for both type 1's and type 2's. As far as "free foods", veggies (other than corn or potatoes), cheeses, peanut butter, meats are some foods that are free of carbs and can be eaten freely as long as they aren't heavy in calories and fat.

Avatar f tn Has any one had success with a gluten free casine free diet? We are about to try it under the support from an integrated medical doctor and dietitian. Does any one have any good result stories or otherwise?
Avatar f tn The most important thing is to set reachable goals, as you reach those goals it will help to keep you on track and stay motivated.I don't like saying the word diet so I'm going to tell you that you need to change your nutrition plan. I don't believe in diets, diets are for people who just want to lose weight and find the easy way out and a diet is only a temporary solution for a permanent problem.
Avatar f tn Unfortunately there is no perfect diet and there no perfect diet for diabetes. But avoiding simple carbs is good for everyone. A BG meter is a good tool to use. Check out everything. Even beans. Yes some people have a very large and long lasting spike on beans, even though books suggest it as a good choice. Supplements can help some people. If you want to go in that direction consider things like chromium, they help some people control BG.
743476 tn?1236614823 When you have low bloodsugars, the food you eat can easily go to weight gain. I weighted between 130-145 thru highschool, not skinny but kinda round. Little things like "loving Diet Pepsi" or "not liking icing on cake" can help. I'm a teacher at a highschool and I have several students who "share" my stash of diet drinks or granola bars for lows. Ask your favorite teacher who has type 2 on the staff. Even better, they usually have a refridgerator.
Avatar m tn Obviously, to gain weight, eat more, and to make it muscle, do resistance training of some kind in a careful way, but gaining weight in an unhealthy fashion will come back to haunt you later. I think you need to read up on nutrition -- there's so many theories out there, it's good to see what several people have to say and divide by two.
Avatar f tn To help with her gallbladder issues, suggest lowing cholesterol/fat through diet is to eat low fat meats (chicken, fish, turkey) or non meat sources (soy products), low fat vegetarian combinations, if tolerated, (rice & beans, pasta & beans, low fat cheese & pasta), fat free or low fat dairy products (skim milk, low fat cheese, low fat yogurts, low fat soy milk/yogurt), and eat a lot of fruits and vegetables.
400099 tn?1282954864 However, people generally feel better on a healthier diet. So, I disagree that there is an MS Diet or an MS-recommended diet. The assumptions on which these diets are based have been shown to be faulty.
