Avatar n tn I have been told they are ovarian cysts- but not specifics (no mention of the blood vessels in the radiology report) So I am planning to visit the doc again to ask more questions. I am mostly frustrated as I am still bleeding, having some pain, pain with sex. No fun. Thanks for the reply. I have been researching ovarian cysts heavily, and am trying to figure out what I should do next.
Avatar f tn I think with my family history of ovarian cancer (my mom died at 78) and with the complex cysts that have blood flow my mind is automatically jumping to ovarian cancer. I am very scared. My Doctor has called in a requisition for an MRI, and I am waiting to get a call back to find out when - but was told it could take 2 weeks or a month depending.
1131112 tn?1321040173 I know that many women get married with ovarian cysts and with only one ovary. Sometimes having an ovarian cyst may throw your hormones off and cause problems with your period. You best bet would be to see your gynecologist and sit down and have a long talk with him/her. Hopefully someone who has more experience with PCOS will come along and be able to give you more advice. Good luck!! Prayers!
Avatar f tn Hello I have had a 2nd TV scan repeated from November showing 3 thick walled irregular borders with increased blood flow small cysts all in one ovary.i am very scared.thick walls and increased blood flow from reading are all suspicious ? The cysts have not grown from novembers scan which only showed same enlarged ovary with heterogenous texture.does having increased blood flow to the cysts mean anything sinister or can benign cysts have this blood flow?
Avatar f tn then follow up with him dec and he asked for a repeat scan jan 13 which I had done and now showing 3 small irregular borders thick walled cysts with blood flow.ive researched and it all stands out as cancer !!! I'm concerned there's 3 but largest cyst is only 24 x 14 mm.what benign cysts can show these findings please ?
441524 tn?1205408195 Cysts are fluid-filled masses. Ovarian cysts are fairly common -- on one hand, you could say every women who ovulates gets a small cyst every month, just before the egg is released. Often cysts have no symptoms and are only discovered as an aside on a routine exam. Sometimes cysts cause pain, pelvic pressure or even nausea. One type of ovarian cyst is a called a functional cyst. This occurs when the egg is not released and the follicular fluid that surrounds the egg remains.
Avatar n tn Although an elevated result can be associated with some malignancies it can also be associated with some benign conditions including benign lesions which it seems could include ovarian cysts. The large majority of ovarian cysts are benign. And most resolve on their own. Although yours, at least the 119mm one, is unlikely to resolve due to the size. I had read awhile back that ovarian cancer rarely presents in both ovaries at once so that makes this even less likely to be cancer.
Avatar n tn I have blood clots since my period started,(23 years ago) and I always thought it is normal for every one, but once I was chatting with my friends and discovered that I am the only one who suffer this. I have a 7 days period with blood clots on each and every day, and severe blood clots on the second and third day of my period. Is this normal? and does this affect if I want to be pregnant.
Avatar f tn Most ovarian cysts, even complex ones, are benign. Of course, in women with an increased risk of ovarian cancer (such as BRCA1+ or BRCA2+), an ovarian mass would have a greater chance of being malignant. You said you have a family history of breast and uterine cancer but did not mention ovarian cancer (OC). If you do not have a genetic predisposition for OC then your lifetime risk is less than 2% (1.3% to be exact) - http://seer.cancer.gov/statfacts/html/ovary.html.
Avatar f tn CA125 is a test for a ovarian cancer marker, drs are cautious as they should be its a simple blood test, ovarian cysts can be very large my roommate when I had my surgery had one the size of a grapefruit and it was not cancer, ask your dr if you can have the daVinci robotic hysterectomy or a laproscopic one you dont want a pelvic cut.
1427674 tn?1283107458 Some ovarian cysts are hormonally active and result in pseudopuberty (early physical signs of puberty) In girls with hormonally active cysts, the ovarian enlargement may be mistaken for an ovarian tumor, leading to unnecessary(surgery) . Girls presenting with premature vaginal bleeding and ovarian enlargement should be genetically evaluated An ovarian cyst in a toddler/young child is often discovered by a Dr.
Avatar f tn At 36 I began what I thought was a normal mensrual cycle that lasted 2-3 weeks with excessive blood loss and large clotting. After a vistit to the ER and a follow up visit I was admitted to the hospital for a blood transfusion due to the fact I had lost so much blood I was told I would have bled out in a few days. I was so dizzy I could not function and my heart felt like it was ready to bust out of my chest with just walking up the stairs.
Avatar n tn They were able to do an ultasund and stated that I have bilateral ovarian cysts. They appear simple in nature, will a small amount of fluid in the cul-de-sac. The right cyst is 3cm and the left is 4.5 cm in size. Is the size of these cysts concerning considering that my Gyn stated that there were no cysts on 4/29 during the lap procedure? Should I be concerned about these cysts representing something more than simple cysts? Thank you for your time.
Avatar f tn Oh no this has really concerned me as I have had a scan done and I have 3 small cysts with irregular borders and thick walls with blood flow,so I am very concerned now xxx
Avatar m tn I am wondering if we should be alarmed and if the blood filled ruptured cyst means ovarian cancer, and whether because it ruptured the blood would have affected other areas with cancer cells. Im truly so sorry for the lengthy message but I wanted to give you enough info on Tracie and I couldn't do it shorter. Thank you so so much and I shall anxiously wait for your reply.
Avatar n tn In March my doctor sent me for lots of blood tests including full blood count ,all came back normal ,also had a smear in May/June with the extra hpv test this came back clear. However end of July August I was in agony during and after my period, had to wait about 3 weeks for a transvaginal scan. I was told I had two cysts on my right ovary one that was rather enlarged and fibroids in my uterus.
Avatar f tn I have been having lower abdomen problems (burning constantly) for about a year. I have been seeing a Gastroenterologist and have numerous test done and have been diagnosed with GERD and Barretts Esophagus and IBS. I take medication and watch what I eat but nothing helps. I had a CT Scan for these problems and it showed a cystic mass on my ovary so I had to go to my Gyn and had a Pelvic Sonogram. I have read that sometimes Ovarian Cancer can have the same symptoms as these other problems.
1832630 tn?1318056776 thank you for your reply :-) i have the problems with bowel movements, urine frequency ( to which the gyni doctor said has nothing to do with ovarian cyst to which she says i don't have) i have continued discomfort and bloating and the pain is like a serve period pain,do you read them as i have ovarian cysts?
Avatar f tn I suppose a high creatinine level could indirectly be related to ovarian cysts as ovarian cysts can aggravate hydronephrosis, which in turn elevated creatinine levels.
Avatar f tn I would like to know if there is any genetic link between complex ovarian cysts and ovarian/breast cancer.I know there is sometimes a genetic link between ovarian/breast cancer. If anyone has any info i would apprieciate your replies.
Avatar f tn Ovarian cysts are very common and affect mainly women in their 30s and 40s. Women who are past menopause (ages 50-70) and have ovarian cysts have a higher risk of having ovarian cancer. The only way to diagnose ovarian cancer is looking at the cells under a microscope. There are tumour markers the doctors can test for called CA-125 and CA19-9 (both are blood tests) however numbers can be higher due to inflammation.
Avatar n tn 95% of all ovarian cysts are benign.. At that size it will need to be removed... Good luck...
Avatar m tn Either way, the pain can be sudden and really strong. Much depends on the type of cyst, too. Cysts associated with endometriosis are more likely to lead to some type of bloody discharge or cysts that have blood filled sections. I don't think bleeding occurs in all cases. It could also be menstrual flow that is affected by ovary activity and the effect cysts have on hormone levels.
