921323 tn?1268679412 As a physician who believes strongly in the power of personal choice to influence one’s health outcomes, I tend to favor an investment in healthy lifestyles. But in all fairness to the other side of the debate, one can also argue that prevention hasn’t worked out so well either. Despite the fact that we have effective treatments, we are not very effective in their prescription or compliance.
1684282 tn?1505701570 National Center for Injury Prevention and Control Opioids are a large family of biologically active peptides that bind to and activate receptors in humans and can reduce pain and induce euphoria. Humans have a voracious appetite for opioids to the extent that our own brains produce them (eg, endorphins), and many people avidly consume those that are produced by plants or synthesized by factories in our environment.
Avatar n tn Changing diet is not a CURE for all diseases. To insinuate that diet is going to cure someone who had been struggling with a horrible disease is actually down right insulting. Again i think that eating the right foods WILL make people feel better over all... but i completely disagree with the notion that food is the "root cause" of some of these autoimmune illnesses.
Avatar n tn I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who is having the problem (well I'm not glad) and I thank you gus for the information. We must all detox the cure for HepC out of our systems. I believe that Gout is a side effect. Hang in there guys, study, research with love and let's keep each other informed.
1852058 tn?1320162300 Thanks, I appreciate your intensive knowledge of these variously different test ur speaking of,however I have done some research myself, and discovered in part I agree with what ur saying. FM is infact brought on as a result of some type of bacterial infection,& also been known to have set up "house" within ur body,& harbored from what could be classified as PTSD,which generally is often a very common trigger of FM.
Avatar n tn It will not be a cure all for everyone. Everyone heals differently and there are many cofactors. People with diabetes heal slower for example. use of MSM is a natural anti-inflammatory and has been shown in research to shrink the size of disk herniations. I would also suggest B complex vitamins and use ice at home not heating pads. Disk problems are inflammation. You control inflammation with ice not heat.
Avatar n tn i asked an experienced bone specialist about it, he told me that its because of ur joints become rough , the fluid between them have been reduced (can be caused due to excess masturbation)... i tried several things but still didnt got the cure ... anybody PLEASE tell me any medicine or cure to this problem..... zeeshan ,23 years.
Avatar n tn It truly is a coin shaped headache that is constant, and is on my temple. It is a pain that is always there, and unfortunately, there is no cure. Sometimes the pain is worse than other times. I was prescribed Neurontin for the pain, and have seen some improvement. I also get regular migraines, and the Neurontin is supposed to prevent those as well.
Avatar n tn I feel for y'all. I have been suffering with the same thing (excrutiating knee pain) for years, but because I am a "good little doctor's daughter" I wouldn't go to the doctor. 20 years later the pain along my whole sciatic nerve is so excrutiating and constant I just can't stand it. I hobble and my leg muscles are noticibly smaller, to the point friends and family mention it. MRIs of spine, hip and knee show nothing, and steroid epidurals gave minimal relief.
Avatar n tn Naproxen could help but acyclovir and the like will reduce the duration or even prevent attacks in the future. My best remedy is prevention. Know your limit and step down activities. Sleep at normal time. My body clock goes mental after 12am; unless I'm having a party and will sleep once over.
363682 tn?1299492962 I want to be able to enjoy a drink out with my husband, but can't keep taking migraine abortive meds for prevention. Guess there aren't any answers, but I just wanted to put my 2 cents in and let people know there are a lot of us out here.
Avatar n tn I am scheduled to have it repaired this week. I will be praying that all of you find a cure to your pain. I know how debilitating it can be.
Avatar n tn But I will make it more of a point to keep tabs on this post in hopes that one of you may one day get a satisfactory answer from a doctor and help cure us all! Thanks everyone.
211940 tn?1267884866 I have this incredible pain, that is extremely painful at night, no idea what it is, therefore no idea how to cure it. Please, if you have any ideas of where to research, I am definitely open and also AWAKE. Thank you for your time, consideration, and cooperation in this matter, I deeply appreciate it.
Avatar f tn My only diagnosis, which is what I think it is, is brachioradial pruritis, but the only prescription for relief was more creams—no root of cause or lasting cure or solution. Only relief is ice. It started 10 years ago (was living in mountains of Colorado--sunny, but little humidity) in the summer. It comes back every year around July/August and lasts thru December, disappearing just as suddenly as it returned. Does your itch do this as well?
Avatar n tn He did several X-rays and told me I had osteoarthritis in my lower back and he thought I may have Fibromyalgia, but he wanted to rule out Lupus and a few other Autoimmune diseases, and also he wanted to do a vitamin D test. Everything came back normal except for the Vitamin D test, which was 16.
Avatar n tn I suspect it could be irritation due to the intimate deoderant spray I've started using or maybe because I was recently on medication to cure poison ivy. I even thought for awhile that it was poison ivy. That would suck, huh? I'm trying a little of everything to help with the itch. No such luck yet. Did anyone else have swelling before the tears. I did. It started with an itch which I rubbed until it got swollen and when the swelling subsided I was left with these tears.
Avatar n tn He believed that my pain was caused by allergies and that in turn was throwing my thyroid off. Great, I finally had answers! I was so hoping that would be my miracle cure, but after 2 years on sublingual (under the tongue) drops to acclimate my body to my allergies, I have not been helped at all with my joint pains, nor my other allergy symptoms actually. I've taken a multi-vitamin for many years, so I should be getting the proper amount of B12 (as suggested by earlier posters' comments).
Avatar f tn This 'posting' has been such a blessing to read. I have had chest discomfort now for almost 10 years. Cannot tell you how many times I have gone to the emergency room thinking I am having a heart attack. I live in the Tampa Bay area and have found a cardiologist who is fantastic. He did not dismiss my problems. He did do an angiogram, everything came back perfect.
Avatar n tn I have opted for HRT largely for the osteo prevention and other aging aspects too including the foggy headedness associated with loss of progesterone (I think I got that the right way round). Quality of life is important and I couldn't imagine dealing with the hot flushes and night sweats I was having for another 50 years (I am only 32). I am taking the lowest I can and am checking out the Bio options.
Avatar n tn I'm not glad we all have dents, but I am so glad to know I'm not alone! It takes away a lot of my fear. I have been taking notes on things many of us have in common. If these match your case, please share it--especially if you've been to a dr. (which I haven't!) Two yrs. ago (like someone else) at age 52 I was shampooing when I discovered that touching the crown area even lightly with my fingers hurt. It was very sore and tender. WIthin a matter of weeks there was a dent there.
