The condition affects the joints' cartilage, which is slippery tissue at the end of bones. In healthy joints, cartilage allows bones to move smoothly, but osteoarthritis (OA) causes the cartilage to wear away and the bones to rub together, leading to pain and stiffness.
Avatar n tn Hi Sebastiandelacroix- I am having some of the same symptoms as you and am wondering what it is also. I am interested in knowing if you have some of the others I have had...along with the involuntary twitching in my legs and numbness and tingling in my arms and hands I have had fatigue and migraines. My doc put me on a heart medication for my migraines and they have subsided for the most part but now the twitching and arm/hand probs have arisen.

Avatar f tn I know I wouldn't survive the old treatment because I get so depressed, I sometimes want to kill myself. I also have osteoarthritis in my lumbar and sciatica. In addition, I was shot in my right arm many years ago. I haven't had ,much trouble with it until now. I have lots of bone and bullet fragments in my shoulder and neck where the bullet used to be. So I also have a pinched nerve that starts in my lumbar area and goes all the way down to my toes. Lots of nerve pain in my right leg.

The marketing of this product with these claims violates the Act. Promotional claims have been: "Angioprim is the most effective method to clean blocked arteries without surgery, needles or hazardous drugs.
1415174 tn?1453246703 My MRI and bone scan were normal, Xray of hip mild osteoarthritis. I have pain in one spot in my left upper buttock but it hurts. But the physiatrist said she had no clue what my back pain diagnosis is. She did do a reflex test on my feet and knees. On my ankles there were two bounces or ticks instead of one and she thought this may be abnormal. I read that it can be normal and that it is abnormal if you have more than 2 or unstopable bounces.
Avatar n tn I know I have osteoarthritis in my cervical disc area, C4, C5, C6, and the physiatrist wants to do a facet joint epidural injection. The problem is that my pain in not in the back of my head or neck, nor do I have tingling or numbness. The EMG test on my muscles in my arms was completely normal, so I'm not sure I want this injection.
469720 tn?1388149949 As you may have noticed by now, the focus of this forum is cardiovascular disease(CVD) prevention. The statistics speak for themselves. CVD is the leading cause of death in the US and worldwide. Although we have made substantial progress in the development of medications to combat the causes of CVD like high cholesterol, hypertension and diabetes; the rapid proliferation of these diseases virtually negates and medical benefit. In other words, we are treating the consequences, not the cause.
1466984 tn?1310564208 I am possible MS - I was reading that too much vitamin D can cause many of the symptoms that I currently have (they aren't from the vit D since I just started taking it). My question is: Are others on high dose of vitamin D - and if so, why did your doc put you on it? How long have you been taking it,and does it seem to be helping? Does your doc monitor it? Thanks!
Avatar f tn Both are two of my various neurological symptoms of not enough thyroid hormone in the cells. Redness would also rise up my heel which I first noticed maybe 5 or so years ago when I was sitting in the supermarket ailse unable to walk due to the immense pain. If I rest my feet the redness eventually goes away. My symptoms are weird.
921323 tn?1268679412 As a physician who believes strongly in the power of personal choice to influence one’s health outcomes, I tend to favor an investment in healthy lifestyles. But in all fairness to the other side of the debate, one can also argue that prevention hasn’t worked out so well either. Despite the fact that we have effective treatments, we are not very effective in their prescription or compliance.

Avatar m tn She is at stage 3 that means her liver has the ability to compensate therefore she should be feeling quite well. Symptoms of cirrhosis don't normally manifest until the final stage (stage 4) of cirrhosis. However she does need to be cautious with everything ingested to include medication to avoid rapid progression of her disease. She should be recieving treatment from a transplant facility as they have the ability to give her the best care possible.
1122824 tn?1274110614 and it is usually the foot and then second most commonly the shoulder, but it is not something that affects all of your joints, just 1 joint... on the other hand osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, arthritis, polyrheumatica, and a few other joint degenerating diseases are out there... there are actually quite a few plus there is the other , old age...
Avatar n tn We conducted a retrospective analysis of both outpatients and inpatients (total 234) who underwent liver transplantation or had rheumatologic consultation during 2002-2004, to document the cause for their rheumatologic symptoms. We hypothesized that infection, crystal diseases, and corticosteroid complications would be more common in this cohort of immunosuppressed patients as compared with de novo connective tissue disease.
1852058 tn?1320162300 HHV6 virus reactivates when you are immunosuppressed and causes MS like symptoms. A CD 57 test looks at your immune system. Avatar n tn of water before getting up in the morning. My son couldn't wake up in the morning when his symptoms first began (and he couldn't fall asleep before 2 am most nights). He was also nauseous in the morning. Although his body had trouble adjusting to the Thyroxine and Hydrocortisone he was later put on, he was eventually able to get up in the morning, and without nausea. I think his adrenals are exhausted now, from years of synthetic hormone use.
Avatar n tn Also, if you are a person who has a high stress lifestyle, as in over worked, sleep deprived, no exrecise and poor nutrition I almost guarantee that these accumulative factors are all related to the headaches so prevention would be the key ingredient, not medication. A disc problem is a whole other issue and that also might be the case, but it may be as simple a tight muscles.
Avatar n tn That is definately one of the withdrawl symptoms. You might want to think about talking to your doctor. There are some medicines that can help with the withdrawls. Also work on tapering the medication. God bless.
Avatar n tn Sounds like you and I might have something similar. I just came across your post while googling the symptoms I feel. I'm a 29 year old male in decent health but for years I've been feeling the same thing. Seems like it's always on my left side and comes around several times a year. The raw feeling arms to last a few days but sometimes (such as right now) it can last a week. Mine seems to get me around my inner thigh, hip, chest, and armpit area (again all on the left side).
Avatar n tn Doctors seem to think it is somehow in my head but I too am concerned that I could be doing some kind of real damage. I have read other postings on running sites that indicate the same symptoms and everyone points to PF but that is not what this is. I hope that someone will respond with some answers but in the meantime it is good to know that someone else is experiencing the same things.
Avatar n tn Treatment will not be based upon this finding alone, but on her symptoms, any arthritis found, and general condition of the bone. If your sister is older than 40years of age, I suggest she talk to her MD and see about getting a bone scan (DEXA)to see about any osteoporosis risks.
Avatar f tn I usually get these chills down my spine, and it often spreads to my arms, legs, and chest. It ***** so much and it often kills my day. I have a feeling the symptoms have to do with a problem with our immune systems, in which our bodies produce extra antibodies and white blood cells to act like our body needs to fight off some sickness when we really don't have have one. Has anyone tried getting a blood test while experiencing the chills?
Avatar n tn and blow off the symptoms and your quality of life is in the dirt. It's frustrating and can be dangerous. I got to the point where I went to the doctor and ASKED for specific tests and that worked. A CBC can included a lot or not very much depending on what they check off. It's almost as if they don't care to search for the answers. Hopefully with persistence you will get to the bottom of it. I know rickets ( don't laugh it happens!
Avatar n tn about health and wellness. Another is our money in this country ( USA) needs to be SPENT of prevention NOT dealing with symptoms after the disease has already set in...NOT saying that handling symptoms is not important because it is BUT there are methods of healing that have been around for 1000's of years..and still main stream america is clueless. That's NOT RIGHT and it's not fair. Most people do not know about the options available to them for cancer, for instance.
585414 tn?1288944902 I am BP2, so never go into full-blown mania. But my hypomania symptoms flux between anger/irritation/rage, anxiety over simple things [paranoia that I'm about to get fired at work, though I'm far from it, etc], a jittery feeling beneath my skin, jumpiness, generalized paranoia [can't stand people behind me or touching me, although I never have the feeling they work for the government or anything].
931217 tn?1283484935 Benefits of Neutering General Benefits - The primary benefit of neutering is the prevention of unwanted reproduction. Though the number of unwanted cats and dogs euthanized at animal shelters has decreased form an estimated 23.4 million in 1970 to about 4.5 million by the year 2000 [1], this still represents a significant problem. Reducing the number of unwanted puppies and kittens has been and remains an important part of reducing the relinquishment and euthanasia of these animals.
Avatar f tn Rather than dealing with symptoms we look for the cause of the problems! I have been having all the symptoms you guys refer to since as far back as I can remember (I'm 54). I am teaching my students of my theory of the super importance of the Vagus Nerve. I am currently conducting research into this and how energy medicine can help. I'm astounded with what I see and how it all seems to relate back to the Vagus Nerve and more. Keep you posted.
