3060903 tn?1398568723 Findings of a study from 2010 indicate that people with OA may be likely to have mood-related disorders linked to stress, such as anxiety and depression. Environmental changes Changes in weather can aggravate arthritic joints. Many people notice worsened symptoms when the weather is cold or when there is a sudden drop in barometric pressure. 230948 tn?1235847929 He said I have a couple of bulging disk in my neck and a few degenerative changes, but other than that he didn't think there were any neuro issues. I have already been to a Rheumatologist, and got nowhere with that either. He told me that it looked like osteoarthritis in my lower back, and that I may have fibromyalgia, but after my blood work came back he never said anything else about either of those.
Avatar n tn I was prescribed Topamax along with an appetite suppressant (Adipex) for weight loss a bit over a year ago and stopped taking them after two and a half months. I did not lose all of the weight I had wanted to, but most of it. I had gained 55 pounds while on Paxil over the course of two and a half years. By taking a combination of the two medicines, I lost 22 pounds the first month, 10 pounds the second month, and 8 pounds the first half of the third month.
Avatar f tn Like many diseases and conditions, my symptoms can increase during certain times of year, and cold weather is always worse. Please consider this, and research it, and see a neurologist. There are ways of coping with it. Good luck! Hope things get better for you.
Avatar n tn Unfortunately, curing systemic candida usually requires major diet changes and a strict herbal regimen. I will post again with more info when I can. Good lcuk to you all... keep the info coming!
Avatar n tn My symptoms seem to be more prominent on my right side, and really haven't had much visual changes just dizziness and numbness and extreme fatigue. It is so variable it can be difficult to explain at times. Did you have MRI of the cervical and thoracic spine? Did it show anything? How about EMG?
544292 tn?1268886268 So I dug up some more info that I wanna share ... in case you are dying of curiousity. Or need more info like I do. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http***mb.rxlist.com/rxboard/ultram.pl?noframes;read=3179 not just for breakfast anymore Posted By: mkny Date: Friday, 21 October 2005, at 3:53 a.m.
Avatar m tn I got sick of it so I went to the doctor who checked my ears and said that it did look sore in there and perhaps I had an infection so they prescribed a low dose of amoxicillin. I took about 1/3 of the dose and stopped because the symptoms went away. I didnt like the side effects (bad stomach) so I stopped taking it since the vibrating had stopped. The vibrating came back though after a few days, and it became a constant sense of vibrating.
Avatar n tn This pain would intensify which would cause me to wince in pain and then release and then repeat all over again every 5-10 seconds for about a minute. This pain did not radiate anywhere but only within a specific point. Then this same stabbing sensation occurred half way up to the first knuckle of my right middle finger about 30 minutes later. Then immediately following this finger pain I felt pain in my right foot at the joint of my middle toe.
Avatar n tn I had a few episodes in 2014, but i am used to them now and i know what to do, so i switch to exercise and attitude changes and reiki, that usually solves the problem. But the scene is much much better than it was in 2011. I am Happy and feel really thankful to God as well. Whoever is out there with same problem, first of all consult your doctor and rule out all the serious conditions such Thyroid dysfunction, Multiple sclerosis, Neuropathy, gastritis, calcium deficiency.
Avatar n tn Maybe we could each pick a product or a process and try it for a month. Keep track of any changes, expenses etc and let everyone here know what works and what doesn't. I am so sick of being advertised to with products that sound good and don't work. Anyone else? Maybe we could start a blog. I am willing to research if anyone is willing to join. Thoughts please? I don't normally do anything like this...
211940 tn?1267884866 However, he said it could NOT be causing me so much pain. He checked out my arm and noticed a hard soft tissue knot, and suggested removing it through surgery and it "might" relieve my pain. So, 3 weeks ago I had the said surgery and it was removed (a hard soft tissue mass about the size of a marble). No, this was not the cyst inside my humerus bone. Anyways, I still have the pain, and it is extremely terrible at night (on a scale of 1 to 10, a 20 at night).
Avatar n tn I get terrible headaches from the neck/shoulder pain and forget about it when the weather changes from warm to cool or if its going to rain I can tell a day before.
643387 tn?1223532789 Hi Twix, I agree with Mollyrae. Cold weather always makes me hurt worse and I don't even have arthritis. Additional weather changes sometimes effect my pain, sometimes not. I use a heating pad to my most painful part often, even in the summer. I take pain medications daily. So I am sorry but I didn't think I could check any one thing on your poll.
1846239 tn?1321201954 the drs gave me perc 5 which is a far cry from what i was taking they have more tylonol in them so im only taking them as needed i dont get a euphoeria it barely does away with the pain i have sever osteoarthritis and i hurt all the time they referred me out to pain mgt should i go and take pills and rehab therapy to help i feel like my life is now consumed by pain not withdrawls or pills i was really depressed yesterday and didnt run to my med cabinet i feel like i can do this under a real dr
Avatar n tn If I bent my knee near its maximum extent (such as when kneeling, crouching or climbing into bed), I experienced an incredibly painful tearing/burning sensation in the area of my patellar tendon. I would immediately react and straighten my knee and the pain would completely dissipate within several minutes. Afterward the area would feel about 50% numb, as if injected with a mild local anesthetic that was slowly wearing off, for several hours.
Avatar f tn 40 pm and was the last person to leave the plane as I had wheelchair assistance throughout all of the changes at the different terminals.Thank Heavens my Daughter did that as I would have NEVER been able to make it through the airports in time for my connecting flight without it. In Atlanta alone, I was pushed onto an elevator and went down 2 stories to the TRAIN, yes a TRAIN, to take us to ANOTHER concourse, and then onto ANOTHER elevator to take us BACK up 2 stories to where the gates are.
1388332 tn?1285350047 I've got osteoarthritis in my hips and it is a BEAR when the weather changes. I was a ballet dancer and like you, very flexible. That flexibility means we have long ligaments and tendons, which also means we have weak joints. The bones take on more of the job of supporting our bodies than soft muscle, tendon and ligaments do. That in turn means we are more prone to develop osteoarthritis.
311693 tn?1218136275 Yes, to the increased pain with the weather. Rain and cold weather are bound to make your pain worse. We usually have osteoarthritis coupled with fms. according to the arthritis foundation. and I do have it. I feel that we need more research on fms because it affects so many people and it increases every year. My daughter is always saying other people don't have it as bad as you. Then i read an article saying there are different levels of fms.
Avatar f tn I also have hypertension, but this doesn't feel like a hypertension headache....the weather is bad today, windy and is going to rain. I notice my face hurts in rainy weather for some reason. Thanks.
1716849 tn?1308876749 I think it was a combo of wearing high heels to dances, beginning to run on a treadmill, and the weather and lifestyle changes Hurricane Katrina brought me. Right after Homecoming, my other knee, right foot, middle finger and thumb started hurting and swelling. Eventually, I had to physically drag myself with my arms onto the floor from my bed, and to the shower to stretch my joints. That died down after a couple years, fortunately.
Avatar f tn I had been seeing a nurse practioner for the last 10 years or so but it's gotten worse.. I also have osteoarthritis and early onset osteoporosis and had been seeing a rheumatologist since the 1980's. Long story short...have new rheum. doc and he's prescribed celebrex but nothing for pain & fibro. He says go to my family doctor for the fibro and take advils & tylenols for pain, because percosets, loratabs, etc does not work for osteo. Advils/ tylenols  DO NOT work for me!!!
Avatar n tn I also have lupus and migraines. The weather pressure changes affect the fibro, lupus, and migraines, and the allergies here me prone to infections which causes the lupus to flare up which makes the fibro flare up. We've thought about Tucson but I'm worried about the monsoons causing migaines. But I love heat. I see no reason for it to ever drop below 50 degrees :) I have a friend with FM who lived in northern Arizona and it did wonders for her. She's thinking of moving back.
525545 tn?1293184794 I am still digesting tonight's words of frustration and anger from both of us. All because of me and Fibro/cfsc. Mike was put on Fetenal in August to control the pain that he has in his knees. He has no cartilage in either knee and yes in extreme pain. He works for UCSD University as a Landscaper so he is on his feet all day. Well back to the Fentenal: He is allergic to it and the side effects were horrible that he went through. I thought I was going to lose him.So our Dr.
Avatar f tn I have tried everything known to man and have spent thousands of $ trying to get some relief but the only thing is to go to bed early every night and don't break that pattern or you will be up the creek and I found out that a gluten free diet helped with the tiredness/fatigue, I have broken the diet over Christmas and have really suffered because of it.

Avatar m tn Diagnosed physically with Meneire's Disease - dizziness and balance aserbated with changes with barometric pressure. No other confirmed diagnosis. Father has diabetes. 529981 tn?1212853666 Also I have tried, salycylic shampoos, tar shampoos, jojoba oil, AND nothing seems to help. Please help me and my hair. I am a busy college student, who unfortunately does not have the time and money to deal with this.
Avatar f tn Unless, I get a new symptom that is worrisome then I will go sooner. Fibro in and of itself is really hard to deal with, and sadly with this weather / doctor appts I've been in a month long flare. I feel the added stress trying to find out whats wrong is making the flare worse. Stress is a bad thing for fibro. I'm not going to leave, maybe I can answer some questions to some symptoms that I have and maybe make one person feel better. I feel maybe I have a 1% chance of having MS......
