Avatar n tn Hello Dear, You should avoid getting yourself exposed to cold weather and cold water. It has been found that nerve cells are more susceptible to cold stimuli and exposure to cold increases the sensitivity causing pain. There is no medication for this, except that you keep yourself warm .You should consult an orthopedic surgeon and get an x-ray done to rule out osteoarthritis.
Avatar m tn Alcohol, stress and cold weather were major factors in bringin this pain on and i began to try and manage it myself. When i started to take the pill i became aware that i only ever experience the swellings and pain in my toes, it was much less severe and not as long lasting. Since i have stopped taking it two weeks ago, i have started to experience it in my toes, hips and wrists. I don't know if this is a coincidence or is anyone aware of the pill providing joint pain relief?
Avatar m tn The pins and needles and numbness can be from pinched nerves due to arthritic joints in the spine and it sounds like your also have arthritis (probably osteoarthritis) in the knees too. The pins and needles in your feet will be referred from the lower spine problem. I was actually given the amitriptyline for nerve pain in my legs and my knees. I was given citalopram for the depression.
Avatar n tn I have been looking on the internet and found a few things I am thinking it might be like bursitis, because i allso have a constant pain in my left heel as well for like two weeks now. I was allso thinking osteoarthritis which my dad and uncle have and they both had symptoms at an early age,but my doctor has done a blood test in november2010,and just did an x-ray of my hips and lower back and said that there were no signs but i really believe it is.
Avatar f tn The doctors insist I have fibro and some osteoarthritis in my knees and back, but no RA. My sister has RA, and, like you, I think I may have it but they keep saying no.
Avatar f tn I heamorraged after tonsilectomy many years ago, but have had 3 c-sections and 2 operations for cholesteatomas since with no problems. Could I be a carrier of EDS and have no symptoms and pass this on to my children? Would both myself and their father have to be carriers for them to have this condition? Many thanks in advance for your response. Kind Regards.
1408210 tn?1340200372 So I don't know where to go to get help, and I am 70 now, have other health issues (diabetes which isn't doing badly) and osteoarthritis (two knee and one toe joint replacements). I live alone with my two cats and I seem to have lost my friends over the years, some have passed, some have their own problems, but I think to be honest they don't want to be around me anymore. I do keep busy (jewelry making classes, beach walking since I live near it, a bit of travel, reading, gardening.
Avatar f tn I'm 31 now... my mum was diagnosed with osteoarthritis last year and our symptoms are very similar. Although I've always thought mine seemed more like rheumatoid arthritis. I forgot to mention earlier but recently I have also developed a pain in my left heel... especially when I stand on it... like I've trodden on something sharp, I also have pain in my coccyx and also my fingers become stiff very quickly if I hold them in the same position for a few minutes... e.g.
230948 tn?1235847929 He told me that it looked like osteoarthritis in my lower back, and that I may have fibromyalgia, but after my blood work came back he never said anything else about either of those. He said my Vitamin D was extremely low and put me on a Vitamin D regiment and told me to follow up with my primary care Dr. Problem is, I can't seem to find a doctor who knows anything about Vitamin D deficiency.
Avatar n tn I was prescribed Topamax along with an appetite suppressant (Adipex) for weight loss a bit over a year ago and stopped taking them after two and a half months. I did not lose all of the weight I had wanted to, but most of it. I had gained 55 pounds while on Paxil over the course of two and a half years. By taking a combination of the two medicines, I lost 22 pounds the first month, 10 pounds the second month, and 8 pounds the first half of the third month.
700067 tn?1332992883 CCI due to EDS can cause HA's.....and the weather can also affect our joints and CCI is an unstable joint. Did your Dr say they would treat your CCI?
Avatar f tn Like many diseases and conditions, my symptoms can increase during certain times of year, and cold weather is always worse. Please consider this, and research it, and see a neurologist. There are ways of coping with it. Good luck! Hope things get better for you.
Avatar n tn Having Fibromyalgia, MS, back problems, 2 hips that need to be revised, but Medicare will not allow yet(Obama Care thanks), Osteoarthritis knees, shoulder, feet and elbows, soft tissue tumor in T12-L1 IBS eech. Thank God I have good doctors and my pain is under some control, but since my hips are now a fluid pain situation, my meds have to be adjusted every 3 months, and it is hard.
Avatar m tn As I said earlier that sensations of popping suggests that you might have a ligament weakness and grinding suggests that you might have premature osteoarthritis of ankle joint. I think we should wait and see the effect of physiotherapy and then decide regarding further intervention.
Avatar n tn Over a year ago he had just done a regular MRI and found cysts in my hip joing and said there was mild arthroitis and told me to try a shot in my hip and if that did not work then to come back. Well the shot only lasted a month and I was so afraid of having surgery on my hip that I put off going back to the doctor until this month becuase I can hardly sit or stand with out having some type of pain and when I drive it really hurts.
1481358 tn?1288298691 I have osteoarthritis and I understand the chronic pain thing and the fatigue. It does get overwhelming sometimes, but I'm amazed at how well the OTC pain meds work now. Those meds couldn't come close to touching my pain when I would try them in between scripts (I'd run out early because I was taking WAY TOO much). I know now it was the narcotics blocking the other non-narcotics from being able to do their thing. Whew. Thank goodness those days are over.
Avatar n tn For the last 6 months I have been getting tearing (look like paper cuts) in my vaginal area (1/4 to 1/2 inch long). I get the tears at least once or twice a week and they last from 2-4 days, go away for a few days and then come back. They continue to occur in the same locations; 1. Inside the vaginal lips on the sides almost always in the crease (between the labia minora and majora?) 2. Between the anus and vaginal opening (perineum) 3. Above the clitoris in the "hood" area.
1139665 tn?1382714550 after having the baby i had head aches daily and on and off numbness in my left arm and side of head. Had a ct scan done and nothing showed up at the time. Since then i've had daily dull headaches and burning what feels like inside my left side head and face. Recently i've had a horrible clicking in my neck, worse when i wake up in the morning..it literally sounds like rice crispies in the base of my neck (where my head meets neck) Friday i've developed a numbness in two of my toes.
Avatar n tn The triggers are rich foods, alcohol, citus, stress, sometimes the weather-no joke. Gout is no joke and is so painful medication is available. Gout can attack other joints, such as knees, ankeles, hips, not just the 'big toe and joint.' the whole bottom of your feet can swell up. I have a friend-black male-who is often bedridden for wks, unable to stand or walk. He's HCV also. gout is accompanied by headaches, fevers, chills and all the other manisfications of a sever inflamation.
Avatar n tn Since then my symptoms have been coming and going, but not to the same intensity that they were when I went to the ER. Sometimes I will be fine and then it will just come on slowly and last for a few hours and then fade away. This happens daily if not every other day. It doesn't matter if I'm sitting or standing or being active or inactive, I will just start to feel really dizzy and off balance and then the arm heaviness, and ankle weakness will set in.
1047234 tn?1253547296 My legs are hurting soooo bad, and I actually hurt all over when I have this with the herpes. Warm weather really helps me, and where I live it is getting cold, and I have Reynauds syndrome in my hands, and that is horrible in the winter. The brain fog is terrible, because people can understand the physical, but when it comes to the 'thinking' they just think you are dumb or something, and it comes and goes (mostly goes) and it is so difficult to keep things straight.
Avatar m tn There is pain in the cold Chicago weather. Osteoarthritis I was told. I have a Annuplasty Ring from Edwards Lifescience. I don't know how long these things last. Having Rheumatic Fever as a child most surgeons would replace the defective valve, but mine was repaired. Hopefully because I was only 44 Years old when my Chordae Tendanae Ruptured and I was at 4+ severe regurgitation, with left Ventricle Dysfuntion and lower then 30% E.F. I am a little worried about reoperation.

544292 tn?1268886268 So I dug up some more info that I wanna share ... in case you are dying of curiousity. Or need more info like I do. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http***mb.rxlist.com/rxboard/ultram.pl?noframes;read=3179 not just for breakfast anymore Posted By: mkny Date: Friday, 21 October 2005, at 3:53 a.m.
Avatar m tn I got sick of it so I went to the doctor who checked my ears and said that it did look sore in there and perhaps I had an infection so they prescribed a low dose of amoxicillin. I took about 1/3 of the dose and stopped because the symptoms went away. I didnt like the side effects (bad stomach) so I stopped taking it since the vibrating had stopped. The vibrating came back though after a few days, and it became a constant sense of vibrating.
Avatar n tn This pain would intensify which would cause me to wince in pain and then release and then repeat all over again every 5-10 seconds for about a minute. This pain did not radiate anywhere but only within a specific point. Then this same stabbing sensation occurred half way up to the first knuckle of my right middle finger about 30 minutes later. Then immediately following this finger pain I felt pain in my right foot at the joint of my middle toe.
Avatar n tn I'm 30ish and I just started to feel the sharp needle like pokes mostly in my arms and during realy cold weather or after a run at the park. I can't nerrow it down to lack of oxygen or maybe diabeties because I've had high sugar levels in the past. However, its mostly during a change in the temperature cold/hot and mostly in my arms and shoulders and only if I move my arms or shoulders or if I stretch after a run or in the early morning cold weather.
Avatar f tn The second surgeon said that he wouldn't recommend osteotomies, they would make hip replacements more difficult, and said that I had osteoarthritis in both hips. He recommended I wait as long as possible for a hip replacement. The ball is in my court. I am curious about which diagnosis seems to be the most accurate. Additionally, I have had outer thigh muscle ache and lower back aches. Are these to be expected with problems like mine?
634723 tn?1222681100 I agree with txsilver- I have osteoarthritis in my lumbar region and I have the same symptoms. Only a doctor could diagnose her, but the shooting pains could be compressed nerves and that could be cause by arthritis or even simple bulging disks. I would start with her PCP they can at least order x-rays and get the ball rolling. Best of luck to you and your wife! D.
