Hi im have been taking Xanax for over a year. I uset to be a methadone attic for 3 years before hand (before that a herion attic). Atfer I got off methadone i was 100% clean for about 7 months but when i found a way to get somthing for my anxiety on a regular basis without doctors (wich never went away after the methadone) i went ahead and did so reguardless of knowing exactly what i was doing i was desperate for my anxiety to go away.
What's the difference? I think I take 150 ml of methadone and I thought it was mg?
I just read that per every 10mg of methadone, it's equal to about 60 mg of codeine??? No way right? I get 150 methadone at the clinic daily!!!!
I take 70 mg of methadone a day - 30 mg in the AM and 40 mg at bedtime. Works terrific for neuropathy! In fact, it gave me back my life! Been on it now for 8 years, and have not increased the amount for the last five years. Still working so why mess with it, right? BUT I was in an accident last March, and it tore up my right shoulder. An another doc said it was inoperable but .. we shall see. In the meantime, I was given 15 mg oxycodone to take for pain, every 6 hours.
Hello. Methadone has a long half life,It lasts a long time in your system. Withdrawal lasts several weeks too.And 20mg is not a dose you want to jump off at,I don't think.At this time I am at 7mg and will wait till it is below 5 to bail out. Good luck in whatever you do,but being in Europe in withdrawals doesn't sound like fun.
Please consult a doctor. Methadone is not something you want to try and take on your own. You are correct in being scared of it. I have heard many horror stories about people taking it without being under the supervision of a medical proffesional.
So as many know I have been tapering methadone for a year or so. Came down from 90 mg to now I'm at about 20. I say about because I actually am prescribed 30 mg a day because my clinic wont let me drop any lower so I break up the pills. Part of the problem is having more pills than I need so its hard not to take more each day. Anyways I have heard people talk about the 20 mg wall and I thought it would be no issue...but I CANT get lower than 20 mg.
When i did quit i waited 30 hrs and then took 20 mg of methadone. I then waited 24 hrs and took another 20 mg of methadone. After that i went 60 hrs and was feeling psychilogically wierd so i took 7.5 mg of methadone. So all together, in five days i had 47.5 m of methadone. My question is, with having takin this much of methadone in five days, will i withdrawal from the methadone?
the new pain clinic wants me to take (30 mg of long acting morphine) with (10 mg of methadone) every 8 hrs.....(30 mg methadone total per day)...(90 mg morphine total per day)....the problem is getting down to 30 mg of methadone...been on at least 100 mg of methadone for 25 years ...the morphine does nothing for or does not cover the methadone withdrawals.....my new docs wanted me to get down to 30 mg methadone in 6 weeks....
keep the amount of methadone as small as possible. you will have withdrawals from methadone.
ive been withdrawling the past 2 weeks from 10-20 mg per day (i took it for 3 years)
my friend got off methadone by reducing down to 1mg every other day. and was still sweaty and fatigued.

Is 5 - 10 mg of oral methadone a large dose? I have only been on a few weeks. I was on oxy's most of the summer ( about 30 to 40 mgs a day for shoulder pain pretty much was done with those and then someone hooked me with the meth, I don't think I've taken enogh to get high on. can someone give me some advice?
Could anybody (from experience) tell me the average length and severity(would you campare it to percs?) It is coming off of suboxone? I'm currently in the 3rd day of coming off 30 mg per day of methadone. I got injured pretty bad while serving in Iraq, I was the gunner in a truck when we hit 2 IED's (roadside bombs) at same time. It was 1 on eachside of us. Anyway I'm on methadone because I was taking about 30 7.5mg percs a day.
i have a friend who has some methadone pills. He takes 80 mg of the liquid methadone, what I can give him is tablets. Would it be the same as the liquid? And should he take the 80 mg all at one time like he does at the clinic. Really not sure what to do. Please give me respone asap I leave town Tues. evening. My son is meeting me on Friday.
10 mg of methadone is approximately equivalent to 30-35 mg of hydrocodone. So one dose of methadone at 10 mg would be like taking ALL 3 of your hydro 10's at once....with the benefit of the long half life (how long it stays in your system).

where as with methadone u can go up and up on dose..sub is not like that..it has a ceilingeffect and no more...most doctors rx this drug way over the ceiling effect....for just about anyone 8 mgs is the strength that can cover drugs..after that poeple r using pshycoligicaly. 4 mgs covers most habits....
hi im also going off methadone 6yr at 150 mg,, 8 mo of tapering and im at 4 mg going down to 3 tomorrow im not looking forward to the drop

Let me tell you this i had very light withdraw which seems like easy walking after heroin or methadone seeking. But i was on really law dosage which is 2 mg every 24 hours. Specially i you fave light opiods like darvon you will stop subuxone prrety easy. I understand that it works diffrent for everybody but thatr is it.
P.S First month i was on 24 mg of sub and when i tryed to stop i had harrible with draw , then i tappered to 8 mg then 4 and lost months i was on 2 mg.
Oh sorry it is methadone Im in a clinic.... Im down to 45 mg now but when I get to 30 mg the nurses will notify my dr .... I think thats wen itll really begin.... My bp is already running low as it is an hearts up an down an sometimes irregular as it is and that worrys me .... See dr wantn me stay in the clinic wantn me either go up or go to suboxone after been on 30 mg a week an b clean 4 days an start sub.... But no thanx dont want no part in that there either.
That is right, I use methadone before 100 mg, and after I start with hep C treatment, I get very ill. I had stop with methadone in several years, but have to start again because I was very ill and the old 100 mg was not enough. I had to start with 200 mg, and I read about methadone that you have to increase the doses when you have pain, and take it several time in a day, and not only one time like normal.
