Excersing causes you to build muscle mass whilst losing weight, which can be discouraging when you hop on the scales! It is best to eat 5 - 6 healthy meals a day and exercise for at least 30mins a day. Walking is great. Don't go into it too quickly though or you will burn yourself out!

Avatar f tn I would suggest you to wear proper footwear and also if possible do some stationary cycling or run on the treadmill at lower speeds. Do not do weight bearing for couple of days and watch your diet during the time you are not exercising. Discuss with your orthopedician and start in a progressive way as soon as you are given the go ahead. Take care!

I watch what I eat, i eat 5 times small meals, I am riding a bike 6 miles a day. I started out just walking but now i have started riding now. I also do weights a few times a week, 10 lbs weights doing 30 reps at a time upper arms and core. What am I doing wrong?
Avatar n tn re not the most important tool for choosing a diet -- some high calorie foods are very good for losing weight, some low calorie foods are bad for losing weight. The real issue is how you metabolize and digest your food, and that will differ by the person.

Avatar m tn Hiya, You probably think that losing weight involves hardcore exercise which can be so strenuous and tiring, however even just 15 mins of stationary cycling (for example) can make a big difference long- term. Stationary biking, cycling, running, treadmill, dancing, jogging... There is so much that can be done and is so easy, you can even do them while watching TV or listening to music. 15 mins a day and a healthy diet with slightly smaller portions will make a difference.

There are a number of possible side effects, one being weight gain. I just got my weight under control and don't want to balloon back up. --- I like the place I am right now mentally. 2053729 tn?1330435506 According to what I have researched, my BMR is 2485 and I eat about 1800 calories a day, so I should be losing weight just being me. Add in the approximate 2000 calories I burn with my exercise and I should be melting into a puddle! We do a lot of weights, pilates, abs, pushups, strength bands and squats at my aerobics class so I know my body is changing. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? I have had my thyroid checked in the last 4 months and it was "normal".
