7874959 tn?1395945321 Hello, I too live in the UK. I have arthritis in my spine and early arthritis in both my hips. At the moment I am in severe pain. Ibuprofen did not help me as it gave me an internal bleed. I refused spine injections, and I do not like taking strong painkillers. I take paracetamol and try to keep supple. I have always liked walking, but lately I cann ot even do that comfortably. Been crying today with the pain.

Avatar n tn Why do you want to be underweight? If you love sports you most likely have a lot of muscle mas making up your current underweight BMI. Get a fat percentage measurement done and you may find that you should actually worry more about properly nourishing and taking care of your body's needs than losing weight. My hips are wider and my thighs are bigger. I don't have much of a problem with my stomach. My goal is to make my thighs smaller and lose the cellulite. I'd like to lose about 20 lbs. and tone up my thighs especially. Any suggestions on how to do this? All help thanked!

Avatar n tn In the last few weeks she has lost weight to where you can feel her ribs most of the weight has been lost in her hips and stomach. She has never been a dog that ate very much, usually id fill her large bowl up maybe 3 times a week. She has slowed down eating her pedigree senior formula food and really only eats it when milk or table food is mixed in with it. Should this be taken as a sign that she no longer likes her food, she is also getting into the garbage more often.
Avatar f tn Muscle is your friend... however, make sure your strength training (weight lifting) is utilizing low weight and high repetitions... you most likely do not want to bulk up.

Avatar m tn now I am back to diet and exercise (I am eating more, but the exercise makes me hungry, but its mainly more fruit, bigger salad, etc...) and I am losing weight but slower than when I did not even notice that I was losing weight. I have dieted before and I have NEVER seen myself lose weight when I was not focused. I don't get it. I am not sick or anything and I am only on allergy medication (I don't even take it much).

I plan on going back to bikram yoga in another 2 months when the twins are on solids and I can leave them for 2 hours at a time. My goal is to be back in a size 4 by September. Avatar f tn Here is the answer to this question. In order to lose weight, you have to subtract calories. Safe weight loss is 1-2 lbs/week, so in order to lose 1 lb/week, you'd have to drop 500 calories from your BMR each day (1 lb is equal to 3500 calories, so 500 calories X 7 days = 3500 calories or 1 lb). OR you can drop 250 calories from your diet and increase .....
Avatar n tn As we exercise we build lean body muscle mass which weight more than fat so the scale reflects no weight loss when in fact the body is trimming down fat. Measure your waist and hips as a guide for trimming down. The tape measure will measure loss of inches and your clothes will start to feel looser. As long as the body is toning up, there is weight loss.

From hips down I has the worst swelling possible Dr was constantly worried. This is #3 and have no swelling to very minimal. Iv gained the appropriate weight amount it fluctuate a 1 lb or 2. You should be fine. I weighted 175 before this pregnancy and I'm 5.3 but we're all built differnt I could wear size med. Shirts and wore pant lrg to xlrg.
689528 tn?1364135841 I know what you mean about buttoning your jeans and it not being pretty. I think its because out hips get pushed out during pregnancy. There are after birth hip adjusters you can wear that will help. I've been thinking about getting one.

1222635 tn?1366396286 If you fit into your pre-pregnancy clothes that's great, forget about the numbers on the scales!! Just thought I should also let you know that if you're breast feeding, exercising too much can cause your milk supply to drop because your body's energy is focused on losing weight rather than making milk! This happened to me with my second daughter and my milk dried up when she was two months old. This may not happen to you but just thought I'd mention it.

Avatar f tn Because of the different positions in ballet, it forced my feet out instead of turning in, and it actually corrected my feet/hips alot. The other option was to do surgery and to be in a wheelchair and have to learn to walk again but my mom opted out and today, I'm fine! (Now 29) I'd get a second opinion. I know Down's kids muscles are different as well but thought I'd share that with you.

But I have been trying but have had problems losing the weight,I had gained about 28 lbs, my height is 5in. I recently got really determined and lost 10 lbs and needing to lose another 20 lbs! Avatar n tn Squats, and lunges, and the best one, find a heavy weight, lay on your back, feet flat on the floor close together, put the weight on your hips, then clench your butt together as hard as you can and raise your butt in the air. It should like like you are slowly thrusting the air, and once you get tired, you want to increase the intensity by doing at least 20 more fast thrusts.

I have really rapidly put on ALOT of weight around my entire stomach including hips, it feels very loose but its alot of extra weight, atleast a stone and a half in two months, i have been taking bisoprolol for a heart condition called bigamini and wonder if this could be related?

4528412 tn?1357069833 t eat past 6 and would eat a little something within 30 mins of waking up to get my metabolism going, I also tried to get out everyday and walk my baby or get on my elliptical..my hips actually just went back in right before my son's 2nd birthday ha. Everyone is different though, so don't stress yourself if you find you're not losing weight as fast as you thought or would like too, it's hard work but you can do it and just remember one day you will get your body back!
