Avatar f tn How can I lose weight overall, but mostly in my thighs. My hips are naturally wide, it runs in my family, but within the past two years I've gotten unfit. My hips are wider and my thighs are bigger. I don't have much of a problem with my stomach. My goal is to make my thighs smaller and lose the cellulite. I'd like to lose about 20 lbs. and tone up my thighs especially. Any suggestions on how to do this? All help thanked!
Avatar m tn If you are aiming at losing weight, it is important to calculate your current BMI and the target BMI. The target BMI should be in a healthy range. Aside indulging in moderate amounts of physical exercise it is also essential to maintain a healthy diet plan. A healthy diet should consist of adequate amounts of calories with carbohydrates, proteins, fat and plenty of fruits and vegetables to supply vitamins and minerals. Skipping any of the food components is not considered healthy.
Avatar n tn Why do you want to be underweight? If you love sports you most likely have a lot of muscle mas making up your current underweight BMI. Get a fat percentage measurement done and you may find that you should actually worry more about properly nourishing and taking care of your body's needs than losing weight. Avatar f tn Do not use the weight scale because as you build lean body muscle mass it will not show you are losing weight. Use a measuring tape and measure your bust, waist, and hips for trimmer waist and hips. Your clothes are a great indication that your getting trimmer and not the scale.
Avatar m tn now I am back to diet and exercise (I am eating more, but the exercise makes me hungry, but its mainly more fruit, bigger salad, etc...) and I am losing weight but slower than when I did not even notice that I was losing weight. I have dieted before and I have NEVER seen myself lose weight when I was not focused. I don't get it. I am not sick or anything and I am only on allergy medication (I don't even take it much).
Avatar n tn In the last few weeks she has lost weight to where you can feel her ribs most of the weight has been lost in her hips and stomach. She has never been a dog that ate very much, usually id fill her large bowl up maybe 3 times a week. She has slowed down eating her pedigree senior formula food and really only eats it when milk or table food is mixed in with it. Should this be taken as a sign that she no longer likes her food, she is also getting into the garbage more often.

I'm in the military and I reallly don't want to buy all new uniforms, I have 3 weeks but doubt it's happening. Lol thanks in advance!

I plan on going back to bikram yoga in another 2 months when the twins are on solids and I can leave them for 2 hours at a time. My goal is to be back in a size 4 by September. Avatar n tn Wow Congratulations on your weight loss, I think it might be worth having a trip to the doctors to check everything is in order, How did you lose weight? some aches and pains will be because of the weight loss, I lost 154lbs in 18 months on my own,I dont get any real pain except when i sit on my butt to long, not got so much padding there anymore, lol.

When you begin an exercise program, you begin building muscle, so even though you aren't losing pounds, you might be losing inches. You might want to take your measurements - waist, bust, hips, thighs, arms - you might actually be getting smaller. You might also want to think about getting your thyroid tested to make sure it's functioning properly since hypothyroidism is a major cause of weight gain.

I cry everytime i see someone the size i want to be and there happy and comfortable with there size and shape. Thats how i want to be and feel. Avatar n tn You are exercising, losing fat, and gaining lean muscle; then you will not show weight lose because muscle weights more than fat. As we exercise we build lean body muscle mass which weight more than fat so the scale reflects no weight loss when in fact the body is trimming down fat. Measure your waist and hips as a guide for trimming down. The tape measure will measure loss of inches and your clothes will start to feel looser. As long as the body is toning up, there is weight loss.

But I have been trying but have had problems losing the weight,I had gained about 28 lbs, my height is 5in. I recently got really determined and lost 10 lbs and needing to lose another 20 lbs! I workout 3-5 times a week,usually dvds ,Rocking Body by Shaun T,turbo jam or biggest losers walk .if the weather permits I also walk outside. My body frame is pear shaped,my weight goes directly to my hips and rump !

Avatar f tn Measure your bust, waist, and hips and you will see you are losing inches (toning up). Your clothes are probably looser. For your age you need 2000 calories per day because you maybe still growing. Women usually stop growing from 18-20 years old. Hoped this helped you.

I suspected a problem a while ago but I'm shocked that consultant said aswell as tightening the ligaments and muscles, he may also have to break the bones to realign her legs. Avatar f tn I have not gained weight, in fact, I have been losing weight .. I have lost 25 lbs over the last 2 months. Don't know if this would be concidered "rapid weightloss" causing stretch marks? That's what I assumed, but my husband looked at them last night and he does not think they are stretch marks. I've included a picture.

But this last couple of years it's all been around the stomach. Maybe our insulin levels are too high - I know that I have better luck losing weight if I stay off the carbs and try to eat lots of raw vegetables and fruit.
