lexapro

Avatar f tn I weaned off Lexapro... had stomach cramps, bloating, no appetite... I think I puked once. But! It was bareable! For sure. Mine only lasted for about 4 or 5 days. Then I felt much better. =) Good luck. You'll do fine.
Avatar f tn My doctor thought that Lexapro was not working. I went 3 weeks without taking Lexapro and it was sooo bad. So the doctor put me back on 2.5 mg and a program to taper. Here is my question. Why are I waking up every morning with anxiety, hot, racing heart, and nervous stomach? I stay hot all day. My face feels like it is on fire. My heart fills like it is racing but when I take my pulse rate it seems to be ok.
Avatar f tn I took Lexapro (10mg) every night for almost 3 years... Tried to stop, had horrible withdrawals symptoms and went back to it. Now, I'm off again, not my choice! I have a horrible insurance, my psichiatrist retired, and I'm on a waiting list for a new doc! October 31st was my last half pill! Of corse, I'm hipper hipochondriac to the limit! I self diagnosed myself with skin cancer, my kids with lymphoma, and for weeks now, I'm having stomach/abdominal discomfort!
Avatar f tn So to answer your question you are feeling withdrawal as (your brain is readjusting to not being on Lexapro.) and you are now feeling the anxiety again. It never went away you just didn’t react to it while on Lexapro. In my opinion taking an SSRI is like wearing a coat in the winter. “It will help you feel warm.” But if go outside in the spring when it’s around 50 without a coat you may feel colder then you did in the winter.
Avatar f tn I have been in therapy for 2 years and on Lexapro for about 15 months. My doctor weened me off of Lexapro over a course of 4 months and said that I was doing great and he didn't see the need for me to have therapy any longer. I really felt as though I do have the tools to handle the anxiety on my own without the help from Lexapro or so I thought.
Avatar f tn well, benzo withdrawal lasts quite a few weeks for some people.....but i would be concerned that it isn't entirely withdrawal related. be sure you mention this to your doctor and see what they think. with the surgery you had and everything, it's best not to just assume it to be withdrawal. your dose of clonazepam is low if you meant 0.25mg's...the withdrawal probably wouldn't last long or be too severe. perhaps insomnia for a week or 2 and heightened anxiety.
Avatar f tn I was on 20mg Lexapro and 300mg Welbutrin for 3 years and I did a "fast-taper" off of Lexapro and Welbutrin (on my own and NOT advised) and had severe dizziness and "shocks/zaps".But, I've been taking a multi-vitamin for women, B12, and potassium (all in tablet form) along with lots of water (at least 32oz/day) for 3 weeks now and my symptoms have eased up a LOT. I would advise starting a tapering off schedule WITH your doctor.
600041 tn?1356160129 Yesterday (Tuesday) my Psychiatrist basically informed me that the medicines I'm currently on, Klonopin and Gabapentin, are essentially doing 'all they can do' for me. I've been suffering from some rather severe depression lately, with anxiety continuing to be the beast that never sleeps.
537497 tn?1292553056 It depends on your dosage, really, but yeah, Lexapro knocks you for an absolute loop if you just stop cold turkey. I was actually instructed by my old psychiatrist to stop cold turkey and I did, but I experienced headaches, occasional blurry vision, upset stomach, and 'brain zaps' as well as dizziness. It's not really a dangerous drug to stop cold turkey (as long as your dosage isn't too high) but you do have to pay attention to what your're thinking and feeling.

Avatar m tn This happend when the depression started and before I started Lexapro. Lexapro could keep you awake, but it makes most people sleepy. My psychiatrist had me take Ambien to help me sleep. Then I took Provigil immediately upon waking to help me get started for the day. Provigil is very safe and not likely to be habit forming. It also gives you a slight mood lift. Once I got over the depression and insomnia, my doctor got me off of the Ambien and Provigil.
Avatar m tn Thanks! I appreciate your response. My symptoms seem to be located to low grade anxiety and depression (which I am never a depressed person until my anxiety comes about), stomach issues/diarhea. The thing is, I just can't tell if the anxiety is still there from the paxil withdrawal or if the Lexapro 15mg isn't doing the job. I am functioning though, which is good. Going to work, exercising, etc. I just don't feel 100%. Maybe about 75-80%.
Avatar f tn I recently weaned myself off of lexapro after using it for about 8 years. Everything has gone weexcept for one very troubling problem that continues some 3 weeks since I last took my last small dose of lexapro. Nearly every night as I prepare to go to bed I start to get warm and then I start getting the shakes. I get under the covers and try to get warm.. Once I have warmed with in afew hours of sleep I am awoken from the results of night sweats, which have left my sheets and pillows wet.
358304 tn?1409709492 30pm my tummy started rolling and felt kinda yucky I had the urge to go to the bathroom and had diarhea lastnight. I took a Klonopin bc I got paranoid about getting the stomach flu. I dread and fear the stomach flu like no other. Anyways I was also having lots of sinus drainage or post nasal drip going down my throat... I woke up today slept great, but on my way to work this morning I had a cup of SODA. Bad idea and a breakfast bar.
Avatar f tn Withdrawal from Lexapro usually occurs when patients stop the medication suddenly. If your plan is to stop lexapro, your doctor will wean you off of it slowly so that you can minimize any withdrawal symptoms you may experience. However seizing is not a common withdrawal symptom when stopping Lexapro. I would discuss any concerns or questions you may have with your doctor and be clear. He/she will be able to help and work with you.

Avatar f tn I was on Lexapro for a little over a year. I was only taking 5mg a day. Since I lost my health insurance I slowing got off taking the medication because I couldn't afford it. It's been about two weeks since I took my last pill and I'm feeling odd. Having strange symptoms. I'm very mean at times and the newest thing happened two days ago, I get this strange pain that goes from one temple up to the top of my head and over to my other temple. It last maybe 5 seconds.
1288270 tn?1301287612 This either results in fewer withdrawal problems, or the withdrawal happens later down the road, maybe a month later. Lexapro leaves the body quite a bit more quickly, and so you are much more subject to a bad withdrawal by quitting abruptly. None of these should be quit abruptly, but the short half life ones especially so.
