Also She has a Vision Problem and effects of Rretinosa Pigmentosa [night blindness] She wants to switch to drug with less side effects drug, Lexapro then slowly stop the medication if possible.
Avatar n tn After a length of time and MANY doctors visits, I started taking Lexapro and I've been on it ever since. Over the past few months I've been experiencing mood swings, anxiety, etc. so I decided to try something new. My doctor suggested Wellbutrin so for the past few weeks, I've been in the transition. I have felt ABSOLUTELY horrible-like I did back when all this first started. I have had 2 major panic attacks-I haven't had those in years!!
Avatar f tn Personally, I'd stay away from Paxil and Effexor just as Nursegirl said unless they were the last thing left to try. And I also agree, how long were you on the Lexapro? I've been on Paxil and Lexapro, and Paxil was much more sedating and made me gain a lot of weight, and I'm very active. Or was. Prozac can be stimulating, and its effectiveness with anxiety by reputation isn't as good as other ssris, but it is the most benign to stop taking.
Avatar n tn This past week I had a brain scan, a neurological exam and talked to a psychiatrist who put me on 5 mg of Lexapro to start. Two days of Lexapro and I think it was a mistake. I have irregular heart beats and a feeling of doom. The neuro. - one of the best in Houston - thinks it may be migraine related although there is hardly any pain, mostly pressure and zaps. Guess I'm not alone.
1110499 tn?1258419136 I went back to the eye doctors after a week of this on and off and she witnessed the pupils being different sizes and checked my optic nerve and for glaucoma and said everything looked fine and it must be from the meds cause my eyes were fine before that. Has anyone else experienced this, I am kinda scared cause the reason I started having anxiety was a from a person I knew dying of a brain tumor. Help!!!!
778037 tn?1377989800 all my blood sugar tests have come up normal), my psychiatric issues (I have Aspberger's Syndrome), my weight and all the meds I take (Abilify, Topamax, Lexapro, Metformin and Simvastatin). What really surprised me is that he had his mind made up before he even examined me! The examination consisted of mostly reflex tests of the arms and legs, and two or three short neurological examinations that one of my previous PCPs had performed on me. He never palpated my head or neck.
Avatar n tn My husband will be going on antidepessants and I would like comments on Lexapro and Lexapro vs Effexor Xr. All comments are heplful. Thank you!
Avatar n tn When you drastically cut the calorie intake you also alter the nutrients and your body goes in survival mode and the essential organs will get the nutrients and the others (hair, skin, nails) will get the left over.
Avatar n tn I was prescribed Topamax along with an appetite suppressant (Adipex) for weight loss a bit over a year ago and stopped taking them after two and a half months. I did not lose all of the weight I had wanted to, but most of it. I had gained 55 pounds while on Paxil over the course of two and a half years. By taking a combination of the two medicines, I lost 22 pounds the first month, 10 pounds the second month, and 8 pounds the first half of the third month.
Avatar f tn I know what you mean. I have been off of Lexapro for two years now, and still have problems with both long and short term memory. It is extremely frustrating . When I was still taking it, I had to search to see if some anti depressants are linked to memory loss . Though I didn't see any studies, at the time, there were many complaints by the people using them. That, alone, made me feel a bit better.
Avatar n tn He was an optometrist. I spoke to his office re the lexapro and they are now referring me to a glaucoma specialist. He said my angles were "modestly narrowed" and my pressures were high. 20/22 first visit, 22/24 second visit (where they were taken pre and post dilation).

Avatar n tn She had earlier mentioned feeling bad after taking her morning medications, (lexapro, and zyrtec,) and went to lie down. She is 30 years old with no real health problems to speak of. Can you please give me something that might help me make sense of this? I have been searching the web for an hour and found nothing really helpful. thanks.
Avatar n tn Hi everyone, I have been having this problem for the last 4 years and still didn't find a solution for my problems. It started with ear pressure and my ears feel clogged and full all the time and I keep trying to pop them every day. I keep opening jaw and pushing through nose to try to keep them open but with no longterm success. This has been happening on a daily basis for the last for 4 years and it is really hard to live like this.
Avatar f tn I have an astigmatism in both eyes and I have to get my eyes checked every 6mo. for glaucoma because of taking Plaquenal. I do get floaters every now and again. I have to get my Rx changed in my glasses it seems like every 6-12mo. Which usually costs me $600 to put in glasses! BTW I have readers in my glasses but they are really good cause its spread around the glasses so you don't get that weird effect. OK, so what's the difference with getting cat. surgery and Lasik?
Avatar f tn I also have non hodgkns lymphoma and sarcoidosis and both are in remission , and I pray I can get some kind of relief. I really would like to hear some input on this.
Avatar n tn I have been to about 30 doctors- including ENT's allergists, neurologists, chiropracters, opthamologists. psychologists, dentists and everything else u can think of. All CT scans, MRI of brain and blood work keep coming back clean and ok. Nothing I try seems to work. There was a period of time about 3 and a half years ago that the symptoms lifted for about 4 months and then it returned full force.
264121 tn?1313033056 Her last child was born with a very difficult glaucoma that had to be operated on at Duke at very short intervals, just weeks apart at a time, over and over and over. And I would ask after her because I just felt so badly that they were having to go through that, so hard with such a tiny little one. But her personality changed over the next year and a half or so and she became very umm...
Avatar f tn The problem is medication - I'm hugely sensitive to drugs and virtually every SSRI or SSNRI I've tried - Cymbalta, LexaPro, and now Zoloft - really exacerbates the anxiety. The psychiatrist affiliated with the program has been wonderful and understanding, and prescribed .5 mg of Xanax four times a day to address the anxiety. I'm still anxious and fearful, but also incredibly fatigued, sleeping a great deal, and - here's the worst part - have had severe diarrhea for 3 weeks.
Avatar f tn 1996 was diagnosed with glaucoma and put on xalathan drops. Been maintaining ever since. Had laser surgery last year and haven't been on drops since, even though he wanted me to trial test trusopt, I was unable to see him the next two visits I had with him, and no one told me to stay on them. So I didn't. Had field tests, and Hrts were to be the next possible test. Regular maintenence to continue.
Avatar f tn I also have a question about muscle relaxers like Amrix and Zanaflex. I'm trying to go off of my meclazine and this morning has shown me that the next four days are going to be really rough. I would assume that Reglan is also on the list of drugs I can't take. I know Phenergan is not allowed. What about Aleve, indomethacin, and the triptans (Zomig, Imitrex, Maxalt, Relpax) in the event that I do end up getting a migraine during this time?
544292 tn?1268886268 Good Morning Tramadol Warriors! Welcome and we're so very happy you found us. Please make yourself at home in Part 31 ...
Avatar n tn I was having night sweats, trouble swallowing, frequent urinating, diareah, fatigue, trouble concentrating, insomnia, aches and pains,my heart was always racing. Then on Dec 29th, 2003 I was at work and my hands and feet started tingling(pins and needles)like when you foot "falls a sleep". This was constant. By Dec 31st my whole body felt like that.
Avatar n tn I am on 100 mg for migraines and am beginning to get blotchy tans on my face. I am also on Lamictal for seizures and Lexapro (10mg) for some current depression. Thanks!
Avatar n tn I am 26 years old and have no symptoms except for the headaches. They are sometimes extremely short and painfull and some are long and dull. Should I see someone before the 30th which is my next appt. or wait. The aneurysm was found after I had a splitting headache while at work that only lasted about 30 seconds and that was 2 days after I started the Lexapro so the aneurysm may not even be causing the symptoms. What questions should I ask this neurosurgeon that I am going to see.
Avatar f tn So, what dose did everyone here have their success? And what type of diet/eating plan and exercise plan did you do to help it along? I'm desperate to lose 40 lbs (half of which I gained on Zoloft-no longer taking). PLEASE respond if you had any weightloss on this drug, I'm very curious. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!
Avatar n tn The first night I slept for about an hour then I got up and went to work. The whole time at work all I wanted to do was go home and sleep. When I got home that was the last thing I could do. I tossed and turned all night. Finally I remembered that I had a few soma that I had taken a long time ago, so I took 1 and I slept for a full 4hrs. I am not going to take anymore soma I just want to be able to stay clear of all meds. Since I've stopped taking norco I've gone through so much.
Avatar m tn That's the perfect description. I've been examined by some of the best eye and brain docs around and no-one can explain it, but I'm determined to get to the bottom of it. Can you email me - tomsav-**-*****-***-*** as I have questions galore to ask you all about causes etc. Hopefully we can get to the bottom of it together!
Avatar n tn Today I panicked and called the paramedics who came and did a 12 lead and they said normal sinus with one ectopic and so I didn't go back to the ER. I had a normal echo 3 years ago. I already don't eat caffeine or sugar. Please reassure or sympathize with me. I'm going insane and have no idea what's causing this out of the blue. Why would they suddenly increase for no reason whatsoever?
Avatar n tn sensation behind the forehead and beneath the front top of the head. The way people describe this varies according to personal expression, but it is usually best described as an expanding sensation behind the forehead as if the brain is growing larger with nowhere to go. The headache is dull, non-throbbing, and does not get worse with exercise. The patient will also describe a sort of "perpetual dizziness" that may be constant or may come and go again.
