Laser eye bag treatment

Common Questions and Answers about Laser eye bag treatment

Avatar m tn My right eye is exposed to green 100mw laser ( i buy it from a toy shop...). After it, there is unclear spot in the middle of my vision ( when i try to look at something it seems to be at central point where iam looking). 1. Shall this spot dissappear ? 2. Is iy very dangerous ?
Avatar n tn In an accommodating or true focusing implant opening the capsular bag may affect the ability of the implant to change shape in a manner that the eye may not focus as well because the capsular bag is not as tense. 3. while lens "laser marks" may theoretically be more of a problem than monofocal lens the patients in my practice don't seem to notice the laser scuffs on the implant at all. So the biggest issues are items 1 and 2.
Avatar n tn Dear charlene558, I would recommend that you seek the care of an eyeMD to determine the diagnosis and obtain treatment. Dr. Feldman Sandy T. Feldman, M.D., M.S.
Avatar m tn Is Optiwave Refractive Analysis (ORA) Wavefront surgery a boon for cataract patients or just another marketing hype to increase the bottom line? Traditional surgery, Laser Assisted surgery, Wavefront surgery....what are the indications that one would be better choice over the others?
Avatar m tn Got Vaseline in my eye after lens exchange hi had tetraflex lens implants 8 months a go great vision 20 - 15 and good reading ability About 3 months later I got a lens bag wrinkle in one eye. I went and seen the surgeon who did a yag laser treatment on one eye this left me with a small stardust. I went back and seen the surgeon who said the yag size and condition of the lens are good. Im putting of getting the other one done until I can find out what's causing the star burst.
Avatar n tn Both eyes received IOL's. I am a healthy 58 year old male. One eye is exceptionally good (was bad eye before surgery). The other eye (my good eye before surgery) still gets cloudy from time to time... goes and comes almost like having the cataract. Has restricted my vision especially when working on the computer or watching TV. Q: Could there still be some of the old lens still in the eye? Q: Is there a possibility that the strength of the IOL is too strong or weak?
748543 tn?1463449675 For the past few weeks I have been throwing around ideas as to the best way to respond to this matter. You see a recent article ( Feb.3 , 2009 NY times) titled "Best treatment for TMJ May be Nothing" nearly made me clench my jaw to pieces. While well written, I found that the author, Ms. Brody, relied heavily on out dated and narrow perspective supplied to her by a small group of dentists.
Avatar n tn I started noticing the discomfort in my left eye about 3 days after having laser surgery. The "something in my eye" usually goes away eventually but while I am experiencing the discomfort, I am ready to pull my eye out. I dig things into my eyelid, trying to make it go away. This is a slow means of torture to say the least. This last bout is leading to insanity so I am going to try to get into see an eye specialist again.
Avatar n tn If the problem is a clouded capsular bag, there is a laser treatment (YAG laser capsulotomy) that may be able to help. But it's premature to discuss any treatment until the cause of the remaining vision impairment is identified. It's also possible you have some issue with your retina such as an epiretinal membrane or scarring; this can cause blurring and a disparity in size between objects viewed between the right and left eye.
Avatar n tn I originally noticed the problem after starting a treatment of Differin and Benzyclin. I used to think that the medicine got on my under eye skin and irritated it. After months of careful application I still had the problem. I'm curious what's going on so I'm making an appointment with my dermatologist soon. I'll share any good information they give me.
Avatar f tn I've had them since my late teens. Bumps under both eyes. I've tried laser - one eye was treated with little difference. Now I wouldn't care about them if they were anywhere else, but when something is on the face it can really affect ones confidence. I have conceeded that I will probably never get rid of all of them. But two options have been suggested to me - cauterization and eye bag removal.
Avatar f tn Is this the difference between a Vitrectomy and a Membrane Peel? If so when I have a Capsulotomy next month will this bag pull on my eye during the laser treatment and cause a possible detachment?
Avatar n tn She said that she could remove more of the cataract with a laser treatment at a later time. When I previously read through this forum I don't recall seeing anything about this kind of cataract problem. Is there someone who is familiar with this who could tell me more about it and if it really can be corrected at a later time? Thanks.
Avatar n tn I’ve been seeing a retinal specialist who has treated the holes in the superior region with laser retinopexy. I just had a regular eye exam done with an OD a few days ago who saw the development of another hole, in the inferior portion of the right eye and I saw the specialist again today. He told me that he would have to leave the inferior hole alone for now, since there was a higher risk of making more damage if he attempted to repaired it.
Avatar m tn A crystalens clinical instructor in the midwest has mentioned that the slightest start of debris on over sensitive patients can raise havick. With the above comment, would a YAG laser treatment be to my advantage. Regarding my dry condition, lower were installed, my next appt is 8/10 where my opthamologist plans on expressing my lactrimal glands and if need be install an upper plug in my right eye.
Avatar m tn The cause of this was an adhesion between the back of the pupil and front of the capsule bag. 3/09 the adhesion was successfully removed and the pupil is pretty darn close to normal. Through all this my crystalens refraction is perfect.
Avatar f tn Dear hsum4, A vitrectomy is a surgical procedure in which the vitreous jelly inside of the eye is removed. Floaters result from an aging process where the jelly shrinks. In most cases, floaters are annoying and over time, become less noticeable. When associated with symptoms a sudden change in the number of floaters occurs, one may have a retinal detachment which requires immediate treatment. Most of the time floaters do not require surgical intervention. Dr. Feldman Sandy T.

Avatar f tn Hi, my mom, 53 years old, we live in Romania, on the 27th of july had an internal hemorrhage in her left eye, she went to the ER and they gave her mannitol in an IV bag and etamsylate and vitamin C injections and they prescribed her a drug contianing 90mg vaccinium myrtillus extract and 22.5mg antioxidant, three pills per day.
Avatar n tn Was going to my retinal specialist annually, but then I stopped and waited 4 years for my last checkup. They found two holes in my left eye. They did laser surgery two weeks ago. I thought that would fix it, but found out last week, that it did the opposite and now I have a detachment in my left eye. I will be having surgery sometime in teh next month or two. The detachment is not in my "peripheral vision" as the drs say...
Avatar f tn Not sure what that is. Is this the one that involved yag laser treatment when they make holes in a Bag carrying lense to let the light pass through or something else?
Avatar f tn 3) Could this have anything to do with getting a silicone (LI61AO) instead of acrylic lens? 4) Is it true that YAG laser treatment for PCO can put you at some risk for detached retina later on?
Avatar m tn My issue is my pupil is a little larger than my other eye. I was also told the gas bubble that was in my eye could have caused a light filming on the back of my lens which that along with any adhesions near the iris and lens could be easily treated with the YAG laser, any input or shared experiences is welcomed. Thanks to all.
Avatar m tn I had a Crystalens HD installed in my right eye 8 days ago due to a single eye cataract. My left eye is fine. From the start I could see horrible glare at night. It looked like gradients of lights. I realized today that what I was seeing at night was really a stack of ghost images. I see 2 - 3 double images above the orginal, and at least1 below. The 1st double image above is the most clear of all of them, and the next on top of it is a lighter image, etc..
Avatar f tn Usually the only concern is whether the initial surgery damaged the capsular bag, or if someone has had a YAG treatment for PCO which can damage the capsular bag. Most premium IOLs are inserted into the capsular bag and can't be placed outside it, though there are some multifocal options that can be used outside the bag.
Avatar f tn 5D to be a bit myopic as I'd have preferred in that eye). The other eye was on target, plano. I was around -6D in that eye beforehand and they used a 13.5D lens.
233488 tn?1310696703 This is not an exact science and the margin of error is +/- 0.50 but INCREASES with high myopia (long eye) or high hyperopia (short eye), eyes with previous RK, lasik, injury or additional eye diseases. 3. Typically the targeted post op refraction is between 0.00 (not needing glasses for distances of 20 feet (6 meter) or more) and -3.00 which has great vision for tiny detail at reading distance 13-14 inches. Any difference of greater than 1.
Avatar n tn I saw the eye Dr. today. My diagnois was same as yours. He wants me to wait 90 days for the laser tx. Apparently it is somewhat rare. I felt the staff there, who did his pre-screen, just thought I was being an odd-ball until he confirmed to them that I do have a legitimate problem. So, he used my case as a teaching tool. My other eye is still set for Monday.
Avatar f tn The surgeon couldn't get to all of it and didn't want to break the bag. I had a second surgery because the lens rotated and needed to be repositiined. During this second surgery I had issues with eye pressure and the eye was lowered to a pressure of 4. My guess is these remain cortex pieces made their way in during this time. Currently any bright light produces a large line that expands several feet.
