> greetings of peace to everyone, i was diagnosed with chronic hepatitis b and was confined for 12 days. sgpt was 7000 on the first days then down to around 600 by the time i was discharged. a week after discharge, sgpt was down to 240. no liver biopsy nor fibroscan was done. hbv-dna was 1620 IU/mL. the doctor said i will have the dna count after 5-6 months. im on a strict diet, low protein, fruits and vegetables. i am taking lamivudine and vitamin k.
One of the three patients was participating in a famciclovir trial and the other two were receiving lamivudine therapy for active hepatitis B infection. All three patients had documented hepatitis B flares, and all had hepatitis B virus DNA detected at that time. All patients developed decompensated liver disease despite one patient having had a prior liver biopsy showing absence of cirrhosis.
I am taking lamivudine for the last 1 month,my LFT results were in the normal range(sgpt/sgot=37 and 33).

Please I need help. I was diagnosed of having Hepatitis b five years ago. D Doctor advised me to use Lamivudine which I did. Two months ago i did the test again and it showed that I am positive. I was advised to do Liver scan and HBD DNA Viral Load. The scan showed that my Liver is ok but the Viral load was 2,400 IU/ml. what can i do? The Doctor want to refer me to a consultant in Benin City of Nigeria.

Researchers created a survey featuring four fictional case histories that described patients at high risk for contracting HBV, followed by questions regarding knowledge, attitudes, and beliefs of HBV screening and vaccination.
I would like to know if it is a commune side effect of Hepatitis B or if Lamivudine could have such an effect.

To evaluate how much kidney protection telbivudine confers, researchers monitored kidney (renal) function in 831 hepatitis B patients who received a combination of antivirals for 96 weeks, including:
Telbivudine and adefovir
Adefovir plus lamivudine
Adefovir plus entecavir
Adefovir alone
and entecavir alone
Among the five treatment groups, significant improvements in kidney function was observed in the adefovir plus telbivudine and adefovir plus lamivudine groups over the study period.
TDF switch effective in Asian chronic HBV patients

Switching therapy to tenofovir disoproxil fumarate is effective in treatment-resistant chronic hepatitis B, show results from a cohort of Asian patients. Administration of TDF resulted in a sustained virological response in the majority of nucleos ide analogue -experienced patients after nearly 2 years of follow-up, report the researchers.
20,000 IU/mL (105copies/mL), lower values 2,000- 20,000 IU/mL (104-105 copies/mL) are often seen in HBeAg-negative chronic hepatitis B; 3. Persistent or intermittent elevation in ALT/AST levels; 4. Liver biopsy showing chronic hepatitis with moderate or severe necroinflammation.

that's the worst drugs, it makes hbv mutations that make almost all drugs useless and hbv escape mutants that infect vaccinated people too
that shi* is not an hbv drug anymore and should never be used, the same happened with adefovir
the only frist line approved drugs from 2009 are: interferon, tenofovir, entecavir and soon truvada, all other drugs makes mutants
Ziffix is Lamivudine, which should not be used as it builds resistance and mutations, which may hamper future treatment and leave you in worse shape. The 2 first line oral antivirals are Entecavir or Tenofovir. You need change medications if you require medication for your HBV.
