> greetings of peace to everyone, i was diagnosed with chronic hepatitis b and was confined for 12 days. sgpt was 7000 on the first days then down to around 600 by the time i was discharged. a week after discharge, sgpt was down to 240. no liver biopsy nor fibroscan was done. hbv-dna was 1620 IU/mL. the doctor said i will have the dna count after 5-6 months. im on a strict diet, low protein, fruits and vegetables. i am taking lamivudine and vitamin k.
In the USA, it is against the law to discriminate a worker who has Hepatitis B. Only the few Middle Eastern countries still discriminate against Hepatitis B carriers, and they only discriminate against FOREIGN Hepatitis B workers.
In China, there used to be systemic discrimination against Hepatitis B students (not allowed to attend schools) and workers (not allowed to work). Over 10% of the Chinese population have chronic Hepatitis B.
One of the three patients was participating in a famciclovir trial and the other two were receiving lamivudine therapy for active hepatitis B infection. All three patients had documented hepatitis B flares, and all had hepatitis B virus DNA detected at that time. All patients developed decompensated liver disease despite one patient having had a prior liver biopsy showing absence of cirrhosis.
I am a 26 year old male having hbsag and hbeag=+ve,hbv dna =1070 iu/ml(Taqman) but my LFT results are normal(sgpt=37,sgot=33).My doctor has asked me to take lamivudine 100 mg for 6 months or until it becomes -ve.My mom is taking lamivudine for the last 7 months after her hbv dna crossed 8 lacs iu/ml.Probably I have been infected from my birth.Is it possible for both of us to completely cure Hep. B after taking lamivudine.
Please I need help. I was diagnosed of having Hepatitis b five years ago. D Doctor advised me to use Lamivudine which I did. Two months ago i did the test again and it showed that I am positive. I was advised to do Liver scan and HBD DNA Viral Load. The scan showed that my Liver is ok but the Viral load was 2,400 IU/ml. what can i do? The Doctor want to refer me to a consultant in Benin City of Nigeria.

I was diagnosed with hepatitis b last year when I got pregnant with my first child. Luckily my husband was already vaccinated for hepatitis and I began taking lavimudine during my sixth month of pregnancy because the doctor said I had high level chronic hepatitis b. These are my last two results but I can't seem to understand it. Please help.
