I am a 26 year old male having hbsag and hbeag=+ve,hbv dna =1070 iu/ml(Taqman) but my LFT results are normal(sgpt=37,sgot=33).My doctor has asked me to take lamivudine 100 mg for 6 months or until it becomes -ve.My mom is taking lamivudine for the last 7 months after her hbv dna crossed 8 lacs iu/ml.Probably I have been infected from my birth.Is it possible for both of us to completely cure Hep. B after taking lamivudine.
what happens if u took lamivudine for 3 months for fHbsAg (no HbeAg) then stopped for 2 months and your LFT got worst, do you start the drug and complete for 6 months? or what do you advice me to do?
I have tested positive to Hbsag for more than a year now. I was placed on lamivudine, methionine and essential forte. d doctor never ask me to do viral load test anytime I see him he do ask me to do LFT and subject me to d early medications I listed. so a friend advice me to go teaching hospital were I can see a specialist. my question here is now that I have been on medication for a year without knowing my viral load what is d implication ?

Please I was diagnosed with positive hepatitis b antigen last month. My doctor prescribed Lamivudine 100 mg once daily for three months. Pls advice can I continue with the drug.
About one year ago when I conducted Hepatitis B profile, I had NON RELICATIVE INFECTION but about one year on lamivudine I am now REPLICATIVE. Please what does this suggest? I am planning to stop taking lamivudine because it gives me so much side effect ranging from stomach discomforts and back pains and general weakness. The doctor I met this time related all these complaints to lamivudine.
stop lamivudine immediately or switch to tenofovir, it is decades now lamivudine is not used because it can lead to cytopatic hbv mutations that cannot be control with any medication leading to cancer and cirrhosis despite hbsag negative, hbvdna undetectable and normal ast-alt, another reason not to use lamivudine is that it is even totally useless on hbv

Antiviral Telbivudine Appears to Protect Kidney Health
The antiviral telbivudine (Tyzeka), may not be as potent as other hepatitis B antivirals, but it appears to have a unique quality—it appears to “protect” the kidneys against damage usually linked to antiviral treatment, according to an article in the December issue of the Journal of Viral Hepatitis.
Hepatic decompensation was not prevented by lamivudine compared to placebo or entecavir compared to lamivudine in three underpowered trials.
Hepatocellular carcinoma was not prevented in four studies with inadequate size and duration. In one RCT, analysis that adjusted for country, sex, baseline ALT level, Child-Pugh score, and Ishak fibrosis score and excluded five individuals who developed HCC within the first year of the study found a borderline significant effect of lamivudine.
I've also just stared taking heptovit, but with lamivudine i'm afraid of the widrawal symtoms.
Please I need help. I was diagnosed of having Hepatitis b five years ago. D Doctor advised me to use Lamivudine which I did. Two months ago i did the test again and it showed that I am positive. I was advised to do Liver scan and HBD DNA Viral Load. The scan showed that my Liver is ok. The viral load is 991. I want to try Liv. 52 and Liv. 52H. Has anyone used them before?
Hello, I was diagnosed 10 years ago with hepatitis b virus. Doctor then prescribed lamivudine which I used for 3 months and discontinued. In 2014 I did a pcr and result was 700iu/ml, 2015 pcr was 1380iu/ml and just did another 3 days ago with result 101000 iu/ml, which prompted me to see a doctor. He prescribed for me lamivudine 100mg for 6months.
