I know that Lamivudine is not the drug to use any more. I am reluctant. I desperately want my baby to be hep b free but equally I dont want to do take Zeffix if it does harm to my baby. Anybody help please!!!

This is a rather esoteric question! Lamiviutine is a drug to treat Hep b and your friend is on cancer treatement. I cannot possibly comment on this as this is beyond my range of expertise. Post in the "expert forum " for a small fee.

More importantly, lamivudine is one of the earliest drugs for Hep B, and the one that Hep B viruses adapt to most easily. If the viruses develop resistance, even some of the most potent drugs lose their potency. If I were in your place, I would go for a second (third or even fourth) opinion until I find a doctor who seems to be aware of the field. What was this doctor's reason for recommending lamivudine? Did the doctor really say "lamivudine"?

i want to know can i breast feed to my baby. as he ll get shot of HBIG ( hep immune globulin) and 1st dose of hep B vaccine. But 2 dose of vaccine will be remaining. Is there any woman who had hep B during pregnancy and took any special medication and have been given breastfeed to her baby and he is absolutely fine and healthy now.
