6736456 tn?1384270917 Hi, I got lower back pain from picking up a maybe 20# box of clothing. About 3 days in with this pain my left buttock and behind the left knee started feeling numb (or like a falling asleep feeling). No pain between the buttock and knee. I went to a chiropractor and she said it is not a sciatic pinch because it is not a continuous pain down the leg. My lower back pain is gone, but still have the other pains.
Avatar f tn The only way to describe this pain is, it feels like a tooth ache pain in my left hip, and the pain also, shoots down my leg causing my knee to fold up under me. My doctor sent me for a MRI of my lumbar spin, and I have the report, however, I do not understand how the results figure into the problem I am having. Can someone explain these results? Please. Lumbar alignment is within normal limits without compression fracture, subluxation or vertebral body marrow lesion.
Avatar f tn it also gives out every now and then, and now i also am experiencing a shooting pain that feels cold and radiates partly down to my upper calf bone, and after the shooting pain is over, the knee feels very cold and achy. (this pain i am describing is occurring inside the knee, and not on the exterior. any ideas?
Avatar f tn Both on my lumbar from l3 down to l5 s1. Still having lots of left leg pain and pain in my upper back and shoulders. I have permanent nerve damage in my left knee due to the 4th surgery from a herniated disc, witch they took to long to operate. The cervical disectomy and fusion i had about 7 years ago was a botched surgery. I found this out recentally. One of the screws protrudes in my disc area and the bone never fused.
Avatar f tn gives me pain meds . The knee problem was taken care off. I had my surgery. now i still have problems with that area allso because it still hurts when my knee grindsl. any sitting for long periods of time . when I going to stand up it hurts like the dickens.. but, I try to bear it so much that I cry.. again that doc~s says you have arthritis. oh wait my cervical have issues too..
Avatar f tn Having lower back pain can cause your gait to be abnormal, which can cause the pain in your knee such as from tendonitis. Lower back problems can also cause pain and tingling down into the feet; I have this radiculopathy on my right side, with the occasional shooting pains down my back and right leg, and my right foot almost always hurts.
Avatar n tn just went to surgeon told me I so need surgery, he will not do it. told me to deal with the pain. I have three lumbar and one cervical. This is the worse feeling I have ever had. Has anyone had this happen to them?
1722077 tn?1311052238 t said anything about the type of pain or predicament that you find yourself in that has caused you to suffer from CP (Chronic Pain). The only way to get out of it is to, hopefully, find a solution to your CP. Unfortunately, my type of CP has no solution. I suffer from Osteo-Arthritis (in every joint in my body) and DDD (Degenerative Disc Disease). I'm, almost 65 years old, and have suffered from Osteo-Arthritis since I was in my 20's.
Avatar n tn My problem started 2 yr back as sharp pricking pain along lateral aspect of the right knee with numbness(5 to 15%) when compared to other adjacent area. After some 3 to 4 months later in the same area there is tinigling sensation develop, this tingling slowly progressive towards thigh region 1 yr back pain in the lateral aspect of the left popliteal fossa develop which is sharp and burning nature and radiating towards calf muscles.
1147125 tn?1265114765 Yes, low back problems can cause pain in the front of the thigh. I know, becuz I have that. My lumbar spine is goofed up, and it hurts in my low back, buttocks, and the front of my thighs, and in my lower extremities below the knee. The nerves to the legs come out of the lumbar spine, and they go every whichway, and while sciatica goes down the back of the leg (I think that's right), you can have pain in the front, too, from a bad lower back.
Avatar f tn Oh my god, I am not the only one to suffer from this awful pain and numbness. It ranges from numb and tingly to searing hot pain. I will go to my GP to have this looked into more thoroughly. I was told it was probably a nipped nerve but have been suffering for nearly 3 years. I am definately going to chase this up, I am glad I read this forum.
Avatar m tn t know the cause of my knee pain my main complaints are obvious knee pain rt hip pain and mid back pain and clicking pain in my upper back I get numbness in my legs from sitting for no more than 5 mins and sometimes it is hard to move
Avatar f tn Immediately after the fall, I had severe pain in my back shooting pains in my buttocks and pain in my back. After recovering from neck and shoulder surgery two months apart, my back was then the focus. In 2006,(51 years old) I had an MRI of the back and I had advanced mid and lower facet degeneration. L-3 through S1 Advanced facet arthropathy within a year after my fall.
1676214 tn?1304431998 Sounds like you could be having a lumbar disc problem. I have a herniated disc at L4-L5, and although my symptoms are not quite as severe, they are similar. I have had cortisone injections into my left facet joint (the joints on the sides of your spine where the nerve bundles come out) that have been very successful treating the pain. The injections are not fun, and not everyone has as much success as I have had with them, but it would definately worth looking into.
Avatar m tn I got my MRI results the other day and I don't understand all that medical jargon. Could someone please explain to me in layman's terms what my MRI finding mean: - L4/5 shows mild broad central disc protrusion with some ligamentum flavum redundancy but there is minimal central stenosis and no forminal constriction is seen - L5/S1 shows a tear of the annulus and mild central disc protrusion but there is no pressure on S1 nerve roots.
Avatar m tn Just told yesterday based upon MRI due to severe pain in R hip, buttock and hamstring, that I have a nerve impingement in lumbar L5 which is causing my pain. I can barely stand on my leg and have trouble with the pain even on NSAIDS. My "impressions" on the MRI report read: 1. Potential right L5 nerve root impingement within the neural foramen secondary to facet degeneration and foraminal bulging disc. Asymmetric right sided facet degeneration is seen at this level. 2.
Avatar n tn Physical therapy will try and normalize the spine to try and prevent additional pressure from being placed on the nerves which is what is causing the pain. The doctors have not suggested surgery? If you can provide some test results, such as an MRI report, I might be able to offer some other suggestions.
Avatar m tn I have lumbar DDD, disc buldge, annular fissure, between disc space narrowing, facet joint arthropathy.... I used regular a log shape pillow right under my knees and a small regular one for lower legsunder my knees. They moved around and did not have the right shape. Thus, I bought the knee wedge (with the same shape and angel as I bent the legs). I was so excited last night that I thought to have a better sleep. Adversely, my legs got number and heavier more tired legs.
Avatar f tn now comes down from middle of buttocks to nearly at the knee and has been there for nearly an hour today. happened about every half hour today. I would loveto get an idea what it could be.
