Avatar n tn Two weeks ago when I was admitted to the hospital they did another IVP, ultra sound, and CT Scan which all showed blood clots in my left kidney. My left Kidney had renal failure. They still are unable to find where the bleeding is coming from. They sent me home after a weeek with pain pills and Amicar Syrup (aminocaproic acid ) to try and stop the bleeding and disolve the clots. After two weeks they are going to see if the clots are disolved.
Avatar f tn I got a ct scan last week, showing 3 in my left kidney and 2 in my right. i'm now passing little blood clots (no obvious blood in the urine), and what looks like tissue. could that be from the stone moving? i can't go to the hospital cause then it's a pre-existing condition and my insurance won't cover it...
Avatar m tn Hello, There are several conditions causing blood clots in urethra. Infection of the urinary tract, Benign familial hematuria or basement membrane disease, kidney stones and sickle cell disease are few of them. A detailed analysis of the history, the medical history of the patient and details about whether the patient is experiencing pain while urinating, the shape and the size of the blood clots, and time pattern or at what time during urination the clots appear are all helpful.
Avatar f tn today i woke up with sever pain in the lower side near my back on both sides, my urine is bright red, and while straining for stones( none yet) i found blood clots ( apox 5mm x 3mm) the morphine is not controlling the pain anymore, and im not due to go in for stent removal and lithro again until the 21st, is what im experiencing the passing of a stone or should i go be seen again by the ER ( my uroligist is 2 hrs away and my GP is not im until wed, so that is my only option.
Avatar m tn I had a CT scan in October (which detected kidney stones) I have had two u/s - one in April and one in July to check for stones. (Stones were the only thing seen). I have had two flat panel x-rays (June/July) prior to each lithotripsy to locate stones. (Stones were the only thing seen). All other tests from my physical are normal. I have an appointment with my PCP next week. I am going to mention endometriosis.
Avatar f tn As of yesterday, he has been presenting with blood in the urine. Is it likely that the stones could be causing this blood, even without pain? He has no pain in his sides or back, and urination is not painful either (thus not likely a bladder infection). He has already been to the doctor who has done bloodwork etc., but I am just anxious about it and hoping it can be possible for this to be simply related to his kidney stones, rather than something more sinister.
Avatar f tn So for past 5mths I kept being told I had reoccurring UTI's when I've had kidney stones for who knows how long. I took my raspberry tea looking urine in to ER today like "Look something is wrong!" Indeed blood was in my urine just like it was Monday when I went into the ER an they said it wasn't. So my right side and back has been killing me an I'll now be taking an antibiotic once a night until I deliver.
Avatar n tn Urinary tract infections can cause hematuria (blood in the urine). Other causes of blood in the urine are urolithiasis (bladder stones), kidney stones, bladder cancer, or kidney disease, bleeding disorders and others. It is best to take her the vet first thing tomorrow for a urinalysis, X-Ray of the abdomen, and complete blood work. If she has bladder stones thay would have to be surgically removed.
Avatar n tn Six weeks ago, I had my urine tested with a dipstick - no blood detected. The next day, I noticed some 'blood clots' on the toilet paper after urinating. The next time I urinated - I experienced gross hematuria and the toilet paper was bright red when wiping myself. There was also some discomfort on urination - similiar to a UTI.( I have had UTI's 2-3 times in the past 20 yrs) An hour or so after this started - everything was fine.
Avatar m tn gov/kudiseases/pubs/proteinuria/ The fragments that you pass in urine could be blood clots. Has the urine been tested for blood? It is important to test your GFR (Glomerular filtration rate). Since you have a strong family history, your case should be followed up rigorously, investigated in detail and treated. I think you should discuss this with your doctor. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Avatar m tn I had Renal Colic which lasted about 30hrs,pain but amazing pelvic pressure, constant peeing, blood in the water and small clots on whiping. I know l passed a stone or stones as at one stage on peeing l felt really strong contracting like feeings in my uretha and looked down to see brown stains/streaks in the toilet. After that the pain and pressure to pee stopped, was only left with sore back/side like l had brusing which has since gone.
Avatar n tn I laid down for awhile and the cramping started up again, went to the bathroom and started passing large blood clots. This continued for about an hour, dark, mucus, blood clots. I went to the hospital as I was out of town. They received a sample and said I needed to my doc at home. I did so. The Doc did a scope, she saw a few ? said their was nothing to worry about and had me taking fiber, which did nothing, except bloat me. Life goes on.
Avatar m tn Lab tests showed it was a uric acid stone. I had to have a catheter put in because the blood clots had blocked things up. And I had to return to the ER the next day because the catheter was even blocked up. So now the catheter is out, the stent is out, and I'm just left with figuring out how to pay for it all. I'm taking potassium Citrate for the rest of my life to keep them from coming back.

Avatar f tn Just found out that the urine culture came back negative for any bacteria, so I am now waiting for my insurance to authorize a CT to check for possible kidney stones. Still taking my antibiotic to prevent against infection though. I'm kind of confused, b/c all of my discomfort has been in my lower abdomen (cramping only)...no back pain, no flank pain, no sharp/stabbing pain.
Avatar m tn but then again, im not convinced with the diagnosis. and he couldnt explain clearly where the blood and the blood clots come from. last week, it happened again. . i was getting excited and went with the flow of the moment. i dry humped my partner as foreplay. seriously, i didnt think all of this happened because of dry humping, so i repeated it. but then again, it always comes out after doing it. is it coincidence? now, im trying to figure out where it comes from? the prostate? how? why?
Avatar f tn I found out recently that I have kidney stones and gall stones, but was also told that a mass was found on my liver that appears to be non cancerous with blood clots like tumors. Please give me some insite on this information concering my liver. I would like to know what may have caused this issue and what steps need to be taken to help the matter. There's no pain or complication suffered with any of my problems I feel fine.
440941 tn?1243651684 I have been told that testing in only about 75% accurate. Then we see people pass small blood clots or in my case a piece of cellular material that we assume is part of my biofilm infection. Either way it won't show on the test but it shows in the pain levels LOL> The big reason for testing is to make sure that the kidney is not being obstructed for a long period of time which can cause kidney damage. The ultrasound should have at least told them if the kidney was enlarged.
Avatar f tn I do not want the blasting, it can cause blood clots and bruising to the kidney and research says it only about 30% successful......... Perhaps I did not phrase that question right!
Avatar n tn when it first occurred i thought that i might have kidney stones and did not associate the passing of blood with masterbation but now i see that the two are linked. needless to say, i do not indulge in masterbation now but i would like to know the cause of these symptoms. please treat this question seriously as i am worried about my health. thank you in anticipation.
Avatar f tn I have kidney stones five times in the last ten years from my left kidney. When I was 20 weeks pregnant I had to have a stent put in my left kidney because I was have horrible pain from pressure on my ureter. The stent was left in for several months and then had to be removed surgically. Two surgeries to remove the stent in fact. It is now almost 2 1/2 years since the surgery and for the last 5 months I have been having blood in my urine, kidney and back pain on a regular basis.
Avatar n tn The stent in his urinary system is very uncomfortable along with passing blood and sometimes even clots. The urologist has mentioned the possibillity of a lazar procedure but he is still asking that my husband get off the plavix for a week prior to the surgery. We are looking for any ideas to get rid of this kidney stone.
415165 tn?1243663947 so im going to call up my doctor and see if i can get in soon as possible, i heard having blood clots and expeally big blood clots arnt good. you need to call your doctor, she told me some people are good with it and some people arnt. and i guess i am one of them that doesnt do well on it. :( and thats a shame. im bleeding to much every day, with white stuff, and small and big clots.
Avatar f tn Hi, Since you have a history of kidney stones it is the most likely cause for blood clots in urine, although infections in the urinary bladder and kidneys cannot be ruled out. Do keep us posted!
Avatar m tn I'm a 25 year old male, with a several year history of kidney stones. They don't know why I produce them, but they drop/pass every week, sometimes more often than this. Since they've not been able to figure it out they just treat the pain. However, the stones aren't my question.
Avatar m tn I was in the ER 3 times and was loaded up with Toradol and Dilaudid for basically 48 hours straight. After passing the stones my kidney, uteter pains etc were mostly gone in 48 hours but i started getting bad leg cramps in the calfs. This has been ongoing for 5 days now and I feel like i just hiked up a mountain! My doctor told me to drink lots of Gatorade and V8 juice but that is not helping. Could this be a problem that i need to go back for blood work? clots?
Avatar n tn They stuck a catheter in me and drained a TON of blood, urine and huge red blood clots. I tore my ACL in high school and the catheter compared to that painwise was not even on the same scale. I had never hurt this much in my life. They ended up hooking up this thing that flushed my bladder out with a saline solution via some double-tubed catheter. Once they were satisfied that my bladder was blood-free, they told me to try and urinate. I couldn't, 4 hours later.
Avatar n tn Family history of stones. I have 1 family physician, 1 urologist, and 1 kidney stone specialist at UAB. I stopped counting # of stones a long time ago. I have had 3 lithos and 1 other procedure but I forget the name. I and an older brother are taking Urocit-K. In January a CT scan showed 12 stones. An ER trip in late April showed 1 stone. Another ER trip in May indicated blood in urine and CT scan showed 3 stones, no stone was evident outside the kidney.
Avatar m tn When I urinate,I had blood clots come out. Now when I go, I only see blood in the bowl. Also when I urinate I get a bad burning feeling. I was laid off from my job so I don't have any medical coverage. I've been going Thu the clinic but they take forever. They put me on Flo max and Pro scar.Over 6 months now with no results. Had a ultrasound done on my Bladder which came back negative.Next month I'm going to have a surgical procedure done where they put me to sleep.
