1794411 tn?1321495731 I have a bed buddy for my neck and the heat seems to help, but there are times where the pain just feels like I need the ice pack...I have the pain in the back of my neck from a bulging disc in C6-C7, plus a lot of the headaches are always at the base of my neck. So I am just wondering what others find to work better. Thanks!
Avatar f tn The pain starts off center-right of my chest in close proximity to my right pectoral and esophagus. Sometimes I can sense an episode coming on and nip it in the bud with ice-cold water. The pain radiates in an area about the size of a softball and left unattended becomes devastating. “When I refer to cold water throughout this discerption I mean a 30-ounce Yeti tumbler filled with ice first then filled with cold water, then refilled with ice and water until the pain is extinguished.
Avatar n tn but there is NO relief. The only thing that seems to help is an ice pack, but I have bought those over the counter cold packs and keep refreezing them only to give myself frostbite.......it just doesn't get cold enough. My four sisters have the same thing, as did my Dad. What is it and how can I get it to stop? When we are out, I often ask for a glass of ice to run up and down my arms........it is worse at night....but I have it all the time. Please help...........

Avatar f tn I had the same problem. I was sent to a neurologist. They really couldnt do much for me except prescribe a class c that i didnt take.... Eventually they let up on their own but I spent the first 4mths of this pregnancy with sunglasses on,living on acetominophen throwing up from migraines. Er trips. Few tips... When you feel one coming on...go lay in a dark room. Limit your activity. Drink plenty of water. Dehydration will make it 10000000 times worse. Also...take a tylenol with tea,coffee....

1806721 tn?1554333407 I've been struggling with migraine during pregnancy in 2015. Recently, I've experience some GI problems that triggered the migraine to return. In the past, when I got an attack, I took a Maxalt immediately and laid down in a quiet dark room putting an ice pack or cold towels on my forehead and neck, and wait... It usually subsided after treatment and I'd fall asleep.
Avatar n tn This is a continuous sensation and is still currently present. It is a cold wet sensation which feels like an ice pack is on my leg. What is going on???
Avatar n tn Try to stretch a bit, and definitely use something warm, not an ice pack! (ice packs are for bruises, not overworked muscles) The muscles should relax, and it will hopefully be better soon. Get a soft massage if you can.
Avatar f tn Try putting an ice pack or bag of frozen peas where you think her foot is. My little girl shoves her butt in my right ribs and it makes my whole side hurt. The ice pack works like a charm. She's not too fond of having a ice cold bottom lol. And it helps with the soreness too.
Avatar f tn I am 22 years old, and have been smoking for 3 & a half years (about a pack a day) I have quit 2/3 times but it is never succesful. As of now, I am trying to quit again. I had been succesful for five days and I just took 3 puffs of a cigarette (which I feel guilty for.) I am trying to mainly stick to cold turkey and if I'm really craving the Nicotine, I have been chewing the Nicorette 4G gum. I feel very depressed without smoking, and I know this is a common symptom.
Avatar f tn Then place that bag in the cooler bag with the larger ice pack that comes with monthly shipping. I estimate that I have to keep this cold for a minimum of 12 hours. Preflight 2 hrs, 6 hrs flight, and 2 hrs post flight with a 2 hr cushion. Any ideas? I also have to carry snacks. Do you think this will hold?
7510956 tn?1411671417 Cold will reduce pain and swelling. Apply an ice or cold pack right away to prevent or minimize swelling. Apply the ice or cold pack for 10 to 20 minutes, 3 or more times a day. After 48 to 72 hours, if swelling is gone, apply heat to the area that hurts. Do not apply ice or heat directly to the skin. Place a towel over the cold or heat pack before applying it to the skin. •Compression.
Avatar f tn Yes I would say use something cold!!
Avatar f tn Put an ice cold bottle or can or something ice cold like an ice pack right where he is. Works every time for me when my baby girl gets her butt all up in my ribs!
Avatar f tn Hot or ice cold wet washcloth over the forehead. Ice cold works for me but everyone is different. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn Aroma therapy also helped me with my nausea and headaches. Also, a bowl of hot water to soak your feet and hands in while placing an ice pack or bag of frozen peas on the back of your neck helps relieve pressure and tension. It won't take it away complete (at least didn't for me) but definitely helps! Maybe that with a dose of tylenol will help you? I prefer the natural remedies first. :) good luck!
Avatar f tn Place a ice pack on the area but cover the ice pack with a thin cloth.
