Common Questions and Answers about How to get enbrel for free

enbrel

Avatar f tn I have been told to get off Enbrel for needed gallbladder surgery. My problem is that when I get off Enbrel, every joint in my body swells, turns red, hurts unbearably and locks up. I become completely bedridden and cannot get dressed or go to the bathroom without help. My blood tests show that, even with the Enbrel, my c reactives and other immune response numbers are very high. They tell me that they will give me prednisone to help with the reaction.
Avatar f tn Why don’t you ask your doctor to go where the illegal aliens get their free medication? Before they get theirs, we need ours!
Avatar f tn Hi rocketship, I took mtx orally for many years and switched to injections within the last two years, along with adding Enbrel. You need a good 3 to 6 months to determine if mtx is going to work for you. I would guess that if you've experienced NO improvement at 5 months, it's time to start questioning your rheumatologist about adjusting dosage or changing meds. Placquenil never did anything for me, so maybe ask about dropping that and replacing it with either Humira or Enbrel.
Avatar n tn Enbrel must be refrigerated at 2° to 8°C (36° to 46°F). Also, therapy with enbrel makes you most susceptible to infections, so take adequate precautions. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn I just wanted t say for me I needed a supplemental DMARD to take with Enbrel. I ended up doing 1000 mg Sulfasalazine and that has made all the difference in the world. I've been flare free for going on four years now.
Avatar f tn Yup, I definitely know about Enbrel. I was on in for over three year and wish that I were still on it. As a matter of fact, I probably will go back on it when I see my doctor in a couple of weeks. I am presently on methotrexate which is doing absolutely nothing for me. Granted, we have different types of arthritis, mine being psoriatic arthritis, but I can tell you that I was on Enbrel alone for atleast three years and I had great results with no side effects. For me it was a wonder drug.
Avatar f tn Can your Mother not do the syringe herself? Personally, if you're injecting someone else i would go for the middle of the upper arm. Pinch the skin between your thumb and index finger next to it, and put the syringe in at a 45degree angle. That insure that you don't have to put force on the needle to get it in, it'll glide under the skin. There's nothing to worry about, you can see veins through the skin, and arteries are way to deep. They make the needle length for a reason..
Avatar n tn my question is simple. do i need to stop my enbrel to get rid of my hpv?
Avatar f tn I have had moderate to severe RA for 5 years. Take Enbrel once a week and am supposed to take 5mg. injectible of methotrexate weekly. I had gone without the methotrexate for at least six months and have not noticed any difference at all. I am scared to death of the methotrexate. Can anyone explain why my doctor wants me to continue it if it does not seem to make a difference? I do great on the Enbrel by itself, but am sure there are reasons, I just don't understand!
1544019 tn?1318504526 When we started doing IVF treatments to get pregnant, I went off of the Enbrel. For the first two trimesters, my RA seemed to go into remission and I didn't need any treatments - which was a MIRACLE! Now I'm starting my third trimester (I'm 27 weeks) and I am starting to have ALL SORTS of complications with my joints. Pain, swelling, can barely move.
142722 tn?1281533616 That seems a bit drastic for pain, If i had a couple Perocets or oxys a day I would be like i was when I was 20 PAIN FREE. I dont know how to ask for them without sounding like a pillhead. Any advice? I know they work because I had a root canal and I got Perocets for that and to my amazement the joint pain disappeared also.

Avatar n tn Shall I just wait this period and suffer through the pain to avoid taking the Enbrel? Although I really need to get back to normal soon because I have studies and work. 3. Will it get worse, better, or stay as it is while I'm waiting for the symptoms to go away? 4. Will I get such symptoms again in the future, if I'm on or off medications? How bad will it be? Is the antigen I have a factor in having Reiter's chronically?
Avatar f tn t mean to frighten Enbrel users. For many ppl Enbrel is a wonderful medication that causes no serious side effects and brings great benefits. There are many testimonies that support it's effectiveness. However with any drug, (even Aspirin) that doesn't apply to 100% of the ppl. No one should discontinue any medication without first consulting their physician. I am hopeful your Rheumatologist will listen to your concerns and address them.
Avatar f tn No change in her condition as of yet, but I know it takes time. How long can we expect to wait for results to show up? Also, I forgot to ask this at her last rheumy appt, but how is Remicade any better than Enbrel or Humira? (SHe hasn't been on them, but I just wondered why he chose Remicade.) Any info you can provide would be most appreciated! My daughter is at the end of her rope.
422104 tn?1209763904 I think we have had people here get both at the same visit. It may be the policy of the neuro department or it may be the length of the time slots they have don't allow for both.
Avatar n tn I'M A MALE 59 YEARS OLD BUT WITH A VERY ACTIVE LIFE STYLE. I;VE HAD RA FOR 25 YEARS, STARTING TAKING METHOTREXATE ABOUT 5 YEARS AGO WITH PREDIZONE FROM TIME TO TIME. AROUND THREE YEARS AGO I WAS HAVING FLARE UPS AND MY DOCTOR ALSO ME ON ENBREL, WORKED VERY GOOD FOR THE RA BUT MY NOW MY THROAT IS ALWAYS SORE AND CONGESTED WITH PHELM. THIS YEAR I'VE SEEM NUMEROUS DOCTORS ENT, GENERAL ALERGIST AND EVEN HAD SINUS SURGERY FOR 30 GRAND, NOTHING FIXED THE THROAT PROBLEMS.
Avatar f tn I am going to begin taking Enbrel as nothing else has worked to control the pain and stiffness. I truly hope your wife recovers soon. Do you know what her sed rate is?
1240295 tn?1268201854 Hi, I'm from London UK. I've been using cortisol cream for over 30 years. What else are you supposed to do? I am covered but change in season, stress etc etc bring it on worse and then suddenly it diminishes of it's own accord. I have been advised to go for light treatment, can't, CFS so can't get there regularly. Multiple allergies so scared of tablets. People on here are saying a med beginning with an e, never heard of it, is supposed to be brilliant.
Avatar f tn The first thing that came to mind for you is to contact the company that makes Enbrel.. Not sure how differently things work in Canada but here the drug company is paying the co-pay for the first year so I have no out of pocket expense at all. I completely understand your concern, I have been on it for only 4 months and am concerned that the 3 or 4 weeks I won't have will take me back to square one. I'm going to do some research for you this morning and see if I can help you.
Avatar m tn I imagine that yours is moderate to severe since your doctor is prescribing enbrel. You need to talk to your doctors to get your answer to the questions. No one here knows your medical history. And yes, both meds can work for their respective diseases however interferon and enbrel work differently on the immune system and I don't know if they can even be taken together.
422104 tn?1209763904 Doctor, I would like information related to Enbrel and MS. I used Enbrel for less than one year. I now have demylination of the cervical spinal cord, both optic nerves, plaques in my brain, numbness in leg and balance problems. I am now fifty eight. Symtoms started at age fifty six with numbness in leg and balance problems. I have been told it looks "MSish." Questions: now that the new symptom of, the optic nerves being demlinated, is it MS?
737030 tn?1257659120 (They are actually Tramacet, same as the tramadol, but not the time release.) |They do help. Not enough for me to, say, go back to work. But I can get myself showered, fill the coffee pot without my elbows attacking me, and walk down the stairs by about noon. Oh, how low my expectations have become. Here's my question.
Avatar f tn I am on Enbrel and has to stop taking it for four weeks because of an upper respiratory infection. I started back two weeks ago and this brings back to memory of when I first started the injections and how if affected my stress and outlook.. I am an emotional wreck, mad at everyone and just miserable .. has anyone else experienced these things with taking Enbrel ?
422104 tn?1209763904 My doctor wanted me to go on Remicade after only 1 month of the Enbrel. I do not have time to go for infusions and am in the process of changing doctors because we just don't see eye to eye on things. If the Humira and Remicade are the same drug then why make me travel and give up 1/2 a day to be infused. $$$$$ is why! I used to work at the practice he is at and they just started an infusion clinic, a no brainer... Money for them, inconvenient for me.
