Common Questions and Answers about Generalized anxiety vitamins

anxiety

Avatar f tn That is a huge sum of money and sadly, most of these people were still suffering from the same anxiety; in some cases, the anxiety continued to get worse over the years. I don't advocate a medicine-only approach to psychiatry, but in the case of GAD, or any acute anxiety disorder I do try to impress by any means the necessity of getting treatment as quickly as possible. Untreated anxiety can lead to syndromes related to post-traumatic stress disorder.
780665 tn?1239030149 Lastly, some people say they get 'rebound anxiety'-- anxiety which starts as soon as the medication leaves the system. Personally, I've never had that problem. Then again, each person is different. Hope this helps.
Avatar m tn I over-analyze everything such as my pulse, funny feelings in my arms, my eyesight blurring, etc. I went to a few doctors and they told me I have generalized anxiety disorder and panic disorder. They prescribed me pills to take but I quit them all because they all cause horrible sexual side effects that just create more problems.
Avatar n tn I know that these could be symptoms of BFS but I just wanted to weigh in on an experts advice as I've had a ton of anxiety over this. My grandfather was around 50 when the disease introduced itself and both my uncle and father are in their late 50's now. Thanks!
Avatar n tn Ive been on Benzodiazepines all my adult life due to generalized anxiety. Im 52. In 1996 I withdrew from Valium, and ever since so many things make me very stressed. Sometimes my brain feels like its being squeezed. Things like calcium, I cant have any diary, vitamins even the B's, Natural progesterone, even though its suppose to relax, so many things, and it all started after I went of the Valium, and after having tremendous stress after doing so.
Avatar m tn this is what ive been going thru recently may15- panick attack out of no where with no prior history of anxiety. 20 years old. chest hurting, naseau, cold/ hot sensations on my body, forarms locking up, blacking out. all this occured me driving back home after college semester ended with no warning. may25- was put on lexapro, worst 2 weeks of my life, felt horrible, on top of anxiety, and had 3 panic attacks a day.
Avatar m tn Blood test went good. Nothing wrong just generalized anxiety. Schools been going great and thats helped a lot. All this support has been awesome.
Avatar f tn (I THOUGHT) BUT when I went to see an expert on Generalized Anxiety disorder and Panic Attacks, I was born again!!!!!!! I take Effexor XR combined with Clonopin and have not had a panic attack since 1998!!!!! My panic attacks were exactly as you mentioned above except for the fact that my digestive system was compromised here.
Avatar m tn that you're going through.....I actually started getting just really generalized anxiety at work, about 4 years ago; I thought that everything i ever thought about, like if i had a bad thought about someone or thing, that it would be very very bad..so i would consume myself in making myself scared everyday in what i was going to think next...I also had , and still get sometimes, heart palps ..which is really just (I know) the mind racing to try to fear something..
Avatar n tn I went to my doctor and he told me I was suffering form panic disorder and Generalized Anxiety Disorder. I'm on 150mg and Im about 85% better. From time to time I get minor panic attacks here and there but nothing major. It does take some time for it to kick in. It took me like 3 weeks. Let me know if u would like any further information.
Avatar m tn I confused mosquito bites with rashes and spent numerous hours a day until I developed a disorder... generalized anxiety attacks and my obsession got worse. At a point where I can picture a good life without thinking that I'm infected. I got my 20 week test and I'm still convinced that I had HIV, because my joints hurt. Please remember, imagination is key, don't do this to yourself and rely on test results!
Avatar m tn Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), to relieve anxiety. SSRIs are often the first type of medicine used to treat generalized social anxiety disorder.3 Benzodiazepines, to relieve anxiety. They are fast-acting. But they may be habit-forming and are not generally used in those who have substance abuse problems. Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), to relieve depression and anxiety.
Avatar n tn I have read alot of the postings and don't know how many doctors I want to visit for all of my ailments especially if they are brought on by my anxiety. Even if anxiety causes all of these symptoms, isn't it still neurological because anxiety changes the chemical make-up of your brain? I am currently not taking any anti-anxiety meds. I am usually aware of my anxiety but of late it has manifested itself in different symptoms.
Avatar n tn 11 years ago I was diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder, after fainting with seizure activity and then for an entire year I had anxiety out the yang. Anyway,it comes and goes.Well I thought maybe the fainting was a one time thing.I was checked by doctors a neurologist and had a MRI,EEG,BLOOD TESTS,CAT SCAN.I was fine for about 5 to 6 years not much anxiety and no fainting. Then it hit me hard I fainted 4 times in a year and a halfs time.
Avatar n tn Hi! Anxiety, stress, and depression can all cause twitches and tingling. Dehydration and electrolyte imbalance, muscle fatigue, pinched nerve due to wrong posture could be the cause. I would suggest you get the blood levels of the following checked if they have not already been checked: potassium, calcium, sodium, magnesium, vitamin B complex, or vitamins B1, B3, or B6 and Vitamin D.
Avatar n tn Shame on the doctors for performing such a procedure and not realizing it was probaly just anxiety at such a young age. Or maybe their rent was due. I to suffer from panic attacks/generalized anxiety disorder and yes I do have many, many symptons including dizziness. You might want to get a new doctor. Who knows what kind of major test/operation he wil perform next time.
Avatar m tn Like, If you have anxiety related to test taking for example, it wouldn't be the first choice to use Klonopin, but rather a diff. med. If one has chronic, generalized anxiety disorder, a med like Buspar, which is for just that, may be used. There is no immediated right or wrong answer for anyone with anxiety without consideration of why and what not. Yes, Klonopin is used to treat anxiety, it's just usually not the first thing prescribed. That was the only point I was trying to make.
Avatar n tn I am starting to believe people when they tell me I must be suffering from anxiety. Maybe I am, who knows! If there is anyone out there with similar symptoms I would love to hear that I'm not alone. And even better, if you've had similar symptoms and a doctor has diagnosed you with anything. Thanks.
446896 tn?1237806342 And I had a prednisone solution to wipe on the spot twice a day- I found later is was systemic to my fingers also. So I have had a lot of this drug injected into me recently. I have generalized anxiety, gained 12 pounds looks like mainly in my chest (I never have a full chest) which stayed bloated, my breathing was often labored, and there is now low grade wheezing - maybe my chamomile teas are backfiring I hear (I have typical seasonal allergies).
Avatar n tn I've been suffering from generalized anxiety since 1998 and now a clonazepam dependent. Feel better now a days but I am still desperately searching for my real self, I mean, the way I was when anxiety was not yet controlling my mind and body. Don't you feel it too? That the REAL YOU is not there anymore, no where to be found? Don't you always say to yourself, "This is NOT me!" What do you think, guys, will we ever get back to our own world before?
Avatar f tn I'm not a Dr but from what you're describing it sounds like generalized anxiety disorder. There are several kinds of treatments to help you. Therapy and possible meds are a really good place to start. Just because Xanax made you feel worse does not mean another med won't help you. Many Drs will prescribed an anti depressant because it not only helps with depression but anxiety as well. Can you get an appointment with a Psychiatrist?
1042487 tn?1275283499 Oh yes, it sure can. It sounds like you have generalized anxiety along with panic attacks. I have the same thing. This can really cause a great deal of pain because your stressed all the time and your muscles never have time to relax. Take care.
Avatar m tn I suffer from generalized anxiety and social anxiety. It sounds like you may have an anxiety type disorder. You could also have a medical condition that looks like an anxiety disorder or both. For instance you may have insulin resistance (condition in which the body does not efficiently use insulin, so your pancreas has to make a lot more insulin to regulate blood glucose) which makes you feel very shaky, irritable, and anxious when you have not eaten.
Avatar f tn It is a generalized feeling of anxiety - where things do not seem quite right. Also, depression. Your brain is adapting to being without the pills (opiates) and has to start producing natural opiates again. So you feel raw. It takes some time for this to start happening. Everyday can be diiferent too. I know it was for me. One day I would feel ok and then the next feeling poorly. The feelings do pass though and talking it out helps a lot.
Avatar f tn however, if you've had this anxiety for the past 3 weeks, you might have generalized anxiety disorder. have you spoken to your doctor about how you've been feeling? mild-to-moderate anxiety can be treated with exercise, relaxation techniques (ex: deep breathing), therapy, etc. more severe or persistent anxiety can be treated with antidepressants and/or anti-anxiety medication. all the best..
Avatar m tn This isn't really a question, it's more or less a walkthrough of what I am going through with anxiety problems and alcoholism in hopes that it might help someone out there. Had I read online about how common anxiety attacks after a night of drinking are, maybe I could have started my road to recovery sooner, and maybe some of you can.
Avatar f tn As a long-time sufferer of generalized anxiety, I know that some strange and crazy things can happen to your body. Lately, I have been experiencing some pin like sticks throughout my body. Not often...not that painful, but it does have me concerned. It will feel like someone has just stuck a stick pin very quickly onto my skin, then it goes away. Does anyone else experience this?
Avatar n tn Feel like a pin cushion from all the blood work - again all within normal ranges. My psychologist insists anxiety is the culprit. Though I have been under a fair amount of stress with work and family, can these pains linger around for this long just from anxiety? They come and go throughout the day and are very disruptive to my thinking of 'what's going on with me? - which I'm guessing only breeds more anxiety. The only other med I'm on is Lipitor for cholestorol.
Avatar m tn Hi I have had panic attacks/anxiety for about 6 months now and in the past month they have gotten extremely worse. When i read your thing it felt like i was reading something i wrote.. i too am 20 yrs old and i weigh about 105. I lost weight due to the anxiety. I have been in and out of the doctor now for a month and like you , everything is normal. My symptoms feel like something is seriously wrong though and i also thought i had cancer, diabetes and everything else in the world!
