Avatar f tn menopause, anxiety, medications, drug or alcohol abuse, gastrointestinal reflux disease (GERD) or diabetes. Treatment is usually directed to the underlying cause. If it persists, it would be best to have it evaluated further by your doctor. Some laboratory test may also be done to rule out other causes. This link may be helpful: Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar m tn If you do, you should have a lot of anxiety -- irrational fear -- and not just night sweats. Night sweats are also a possible side effect of most antidepressants, and taking benzos for a problem that isn't anxiety is taking an addictive drug for no useful purpose.
Avatar n tn Hi, I am on lexapro and it always has me waking up in the middle of the night feeling anxious for no reason. It has helped me to lower my anxiety but it can make me feel so sick sometimes that it makes me anxious about being ill. I got myslef some all natural products for my anxiety and menopause as any prescriptions I had had didn't seem to help much. I am using Womans Choice, Xtra Cal, Roseox and Relax now.
Avatar f tn I had severe stress from job and quit it just last week but still miserable with sleep disturbance and night sweats, rapid heart beat etc. Can you tell me if this is related to thyroid or just generalized anxiety/depression?
Avatar m tn I wore a monitor for a month and was put on atenolol to help with palpitations, and was given a clean bill of health. But this started some of the symptoms of anxiety, including night sweats and a bit of generalized fear. Things got worse when my doctor tried to put me on a statin to manage my cholesterol, after a few days it caused some pain in my abdomen.
Avatar f tn around december 18th i think i had a night sweats along with some nightmares but i woke up a couple of times with a wet neck and that's about it...i noticed it only occured when i was really stressed and/or took a pain reliever before bed. ive experienced this before years ago when i was undergoing major depression where i basically didn't leave the house for 6months and gained 30lbs. and just last week my neck and armpits feel tight and tense...
Avatar f tn Since then I stopped taking the dilaudid cold turkey and have been experiencing pounding heart, nervousness, shallow breathing and at night it is very hard to sleep because I wake up in cold sweats with a pounding heart and isaues breathing. I'm in the er right now because it's the 4th day and I'm sick of this. Could anyone help with this? I've had anxiety in the past and a long medical history but never experienced anything like this. Could it be withdrawals?
Avatar m tn that you're going through.....I actually started getting just really generalized anxiety at work, about 4 years ago; I thought that everything i ever thought about, like if i had a bad thought about someone or thing, that it would be very very i would consume myself in making myself scared everyday in what i was going to think next...I also had , and still get sometimes, heart palps ..which is really just (I know) the mind racing to try to fear something..
Avatar f tn By day three I was sick as a dog. Anxiety out the butt! Irritability, night sweats, weak, tired and could not sleep. Everytime I would try to fall asleep, I would feel these weird brain zapps in my head, and at the same time my body would heat up really hot, sweaty and heart racing fast. I woke up each time exhausted, confused and scared. I woke up at least 6 times in one night! Then enough was enough, I went to the ER and they ran all test. My bp was high...but everything else normal.
Avatar n tn Dear Doctor, I followed your advice to dampen the effect of the withdraw syndrom caused by the ending of Paxil CR. I increased the dosage the first night by a half a pill, but was still left with uncomfortable side effects. The next night I took a full additional pill which has left me with a total of 20mg of Prozac being taken. This did wonders for the withdraw feelings, but the anxiety is over-whelming.
Avatar n tn I could go without for a few days and feel fine. About a year ago I noticed some anxiety. In the last half year I found it getting worse and never realized I was bringing it on from drinking. The anxiety seemed managable while drinking but every two or three days without I would feel the need more. I found out 3 months ago that my gf was pregnant, this led to more drinking to relax. After feeling pretty crappy about everything I decided to quit.
Avatar m tn Not to mention the night sweats that make me awake at night. Am I having chronic anxiety? Cos when I confide with my friends I felt lighter, and when I'm back alone I the symptoms come back. What should I do to stop this. Felt like I'm gonna die.

Avatar n tn I do not smoke marijuana for that very reason. I have generalized anxiety disorder and I have to take medication for it. I never smoked much, but I noticed that occasionally I would have anxiety symptoms when I did smoke. I have not smoked in over 5 years. I figured that I have spent thousands of dollars on therapy and medication to avoid the very feeling that marijuana gives me, so I decided not to smoke anymore. Well, I wish you luck as you go through this.
Avatar n tn I've been suffering from generalized anxiety since 1998 and now a clonazepam dependent. Feel better now a days but I am still desperately searching for my real self, I mean, the way I was when anxiety was not yet controlling my mind and body. Don't you feel it too? That the REAL YOU is not there anymore, no where to be found? Don't you always say to yourself, "This is NOT me!" What do you think, guys, will we ever get back to our own world before?
Avatar m tn Had I read online about how common anxiety attacks after a night of drinking are, maybe I could have started my road to recovery sooner, and maybe some of you can. Anyways, I am a 25-year old college student (receiving my 2nd BA tomorrow actually :D) who had never experienced anything related to anxiety or panic attacks ever in my life. I've always been a laid back, easy-going individual.
Avatar f tn ***I have had horrible panic attacks in the past year and I have suffered from horrible headaches in the sinus areas and in the jaw, I have had bad indigestion and upset stomach, muscle twitches, ear fullness, pressure and popping, very bad trouble balancing, dizziness, nausea, heart palpatations, difficulty breathing, skin hot to the touch, creepy crawly sensations on my face head and scalp, flushing with red itchy skin, horrible muscle pain, horrible treamors, internally vibrating while fallin
Avatar n tn Now after 6 months on the Lexapro I have weaned myself off of the anti-depressants all together. I am struggling but really only have the worst anxiety at night. I have had horrible insomnia since May and stay up til the wee hours of the morning and sleep most of the day. I lay in bed at night in fear that I'm gonna have a heart attack because of the various aches and pains in my chest, arm, stomach, etc. It's the most frustrating thing in the world!
Avatar f tn As a long-time sufferer of generalized anxiety, I know that some strange and crazy things can happen to your body. Lately, I have been experiencing some pin like sticks throughout my body. Not often...not that painful, but it does have me concerned. It will feel like someone has just stuck a stick pin very quickly onto my skin, then it goes away. Does anyone else experience this?
Avatar m tn Question does anyone else have the burning all day or is it just when your having an anxiety attack? Also I clench at night and I know alot of my neck and shoulder and headache symptoms are due to that just cant control my thoughts from thinking it is something worse. Is health anxiety a form of OCD cause I have noticed once I start I cant make myself stop!
Avatar n tn I've had every heart test there is and I'm told that it's anxiety. But at night when I'm sleeping? I don't get it does anyone else have this problem at night? I'd like to know more about this please if you have the same problem I'd like to find out.
Avatar n tn Hi, My name is Stephanie and I am a 21 year old college student, with no history of anxiety problems (however my mom has problems w/anxiety. Recently I have been having extreme anxiety concerning my health (which started about 2 1/2 months ago when I briefly passed out while getting up too quickly from bed.) The week after that happened, I began having all sorts of problems, such as feeling dizzy, light headed, ringing in the ears, and going numb in my hands/feet.
Avatar n tn I hope knowing that someone else with long standing generalized anxiety has the same symptom is of comfort to you. I hope you feel better soon!!
Avatar f tn I recently got diagnosed with Kikuchi Disease via cervical lymph node biopsy (earlier this month). In a nut shell, I have had generalized lymphadenopathy, more prominent in the cervical are, for more than 2 years. I had an inguinal lymph node biopsy in 2009 which was benign. Since then I continue with fevers, night sweats, enlarged lymph nodes, and a change in mental status ( > anxiety, unable to concentrate, and brain fog) which is out of character for me.
Avatar n tn David, David, David... Please tell us how we can help you. Obviously confirming and re-confirming ad nauseum that you are HIV- has not been sufficient. 1) Your risk for HIV from the exposure you describe was near zero. It was just about the safest sex you could have. 2) What infitessimal risk you did have was eliminated by your negative HIV tests in January. Ergo, you are definitely HIV-. 3) Since you are HIV-, your symptoms CANNOT be due to HIV, regardless of what those symptoms are.
Avatar f tn I've been able to come to work, not laid up in bed though have had night sweats. Swollen glands with ARS are generalized, not specific correct? Fever is usually 101 and over continually for days with ARS correct. I'm seeing my GP today for what appears to be a cold or flu but just wanted to get your thoughts and confirm my analysis.
Avatar m tn It's hard to accept a negative result, with my visible swollen submandibular glands, mouth ulcers, severe pain in legs, night sweats, extremely dry mouth (loss of enamel). I really believe that something is wrong with my results (maybe lab errors, or, as I said, a strain of HIV undetected by the kit I had). All these symptoms are not due to anxiety (especially many swollen lymph nodes). But thank you for your opinion.
Avatar f tn I deal with severe depression and generalized anxiety disorder however I keep it controlled with Cipralex and Clonazapm. My husband and I wish to get pregnant and have been trying for about six months with no luck. I am starting to wonder a bit aboutmy fertility. I have very painful periods but what worries me most is that they are so short. I bleed for about two days and then nothing for two days and then light spotting for two to three days.
