Generalized anxiety memory

Common Questions and Answers about Generalized anxiety memory

Avatar n tn Sorry, without seeing the MRI and examining your daughter, I can't tell you much. The symptoms that you describe are very generalized and difficult to give you what might be causing them. Since I am assuming that all your bloodwork and neurological testing have been normal, yes stress and anxiety can play a big factor in your symptoms. Stress can effect sleep and bad sleep can certainly produce fatigue.
Avatar m tn I have been having worsening memory and cognition issues over the past several years along with Fibro type physical symptoms. I am being treated for severe anxiety, emotion dysregulation (related to childhood traumas), depression, an eating disorder, generalized pain, exhaustion and insomnia. My Rheumatologist says my "fog" is too severe for Fibro and referred me to Neuro who ordered a sleep study and MRI. Rheum tests incl Ssdna range 0-200 u/ml w result of 605.
Avatar n tn I am suffering from depression and extreme anxiety-generalized, social. My stomach is in knots everyday and I hate being awake. I am medication resistant and sensitive to side effects. I had to go off many antidepressants because they made me sick in one way or another. I am currently on 50mg of lamictal and 75 on seroquel. I don't notice any change in my anxiety. When to a consultation for ect and I am really scared of the procedure and the thought of losing my memory since I have 3 children.
Avatar f tn I am going to assume that the problem you have is what is called generalized anxiety (as opposed to panic disorder, or obsessive compulsive disorder or posttraumatic stress disorder). Broadly these are the options - 1. Benzodiazepines like lorazepam (Ativan), diazepam (Valium), clonazepam (Klonopin), etcetera.
Avatar m tn I over-analyze everything such as my pulse, funny feelings in my arms, my eyesight blurring, etc. I went to a few doctors and they told me I have generalized anxiety disorder and panic disorder. They prescribed me pills to take but I quit them all because they all cause horrible sexual side effects that just create more problems.
Avatar f tn At the age of 19 I was told I suffer from depression and that I have a generalized anxiety disorder. I used to feel I have dementia or something like parkinson's disease or alzheimer's. After doing a lot of research I found out people suffering from depression can develop such thoughts which to them seem legitimate and they actually feel there is something wrong with them. Dont forget, depression can cause a lot of problems! Which include memory problems, etc.
Avatar f tn I thought it was best to go on a anxiety meds. I used Effexor and was on it for 10 years. it is for generalized anxiety disorder. I worked really well for me. I used the Xanax when I feel extremely panicky. go for counseling, talk and vent as much as possible in a safe environment, go to alanon, exercise, eat healthy, make sure you get plenty of rest.
1618236 tn?1408075814 I have been recently diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder along with Generalized Anxiety and I am currently under a psychiatrist and a psychologist care. I have been having problems with communicating with others, uncomfortable when people touch me, sensitive to criticism and rejection with extreme anxiety along with angry outbursts with my family having these symptoms continously everyday and was wondering if anyone else also has these issues.
Avatar m tn that you're going through.....I actually started getting just really generalized anxiety at work, about 4 years ago; I thought that everything i ever thought about, like if i had a bad thought about someone or thing, that it would be very very i would consume myself in making myself scared everyday in what i was going to think next...I also had , and still get sometimes, heart palps ..which is really just (I know) the mind racing to try to fear something..
Avatar f tn We think the memory loss has increased, but it's kind of mixed up with the anxiety. We HOPE the memory loss is directly related to the Ambien, and being off of it will he return to 'normal'? We can deal with the anxiety, but not the memory loss.
Avatar n tn hi i am 25 years old, and have had generalized anxiety disorder for about a year. i struggle daily with symptoms of anxiety like chest pain, shortness of breath, and obsessive thoughts of dying. i take 15mg of buspar twice a day and feel comfortable with that but my doctor wants me to start taking 20 mg of paxil a day. i am horrifired that if i take it that i will die. my main concern is the reaction it will have with my buspar.
Avatar n tn The next night I took a full additional pill which has left me with a total of 20mg of Prozac being taken. This did wonders for the withdraw feelings, but the anxiety is over-whelming. I was burning out my skin, shaking, fearful thoughts and feelings raced, and a buzzed feeling has taken over my body. My question to you is, do you think that this anxiety will pass after a couple of weeks or do you think perhaps 20mg is too much for my anxiety? How long of a chance do you give it?
Avatar n tn I could go without for a few days and feel fine. About a year ago I noticed some anxiety. In the last half year I found it getting worse and never realized I was bringing it on from drinking. The anxiety seemed managable while drinking but every two or three days without I would feel the need more. I found out 3 months ago that my gf was pregnant, this led to more drinking to relax. After feeling pretty crappy about everything I decided to quit.
1772374 tn?1326249837 I'm suffering from Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, OCD, and Tourettes Syndrome. It started out with Tourettes and OCD but as i've gone through some trauma GAD and SAD has developed and is destroying me. As of right now i'm taking Lexapro, Busiprone, Xanax (as needed), and Gabapentin. I'm 18 years old and i'm having great difficulties even finishing with online classes. I seek assistance for alternative medications or treatments that may help these symptoms.
Avatar m tn This brought back memories of the gumball incident and my anxiety has basically spiraled out of control since. It's gotten to the point where I don't even enjoy eating anymore, because I think I'm going to die with each swallow. And the thing about this type of anxiety is that it leads to awkward swallows, so I'm probably even more likely to choke. This has made me an even slower eater than I already was. For example, it took me 45 minutes to finish a sandwich.
Avatar n tn I do not smoke marijuana for that very reason. I have generalized anxiety disorder and I have to take medication for it. I never smoked much, but I noticed that occasionally I would have anxiety symptoms when I did smoke. I have not smoked in over 5 years. I figured that I have spent thousands of dollars on therapy and medication to avoid the very feeling that marijuana gives me, so I decided not to smoke anymore. Well, I wish you luck as you go through this.
Avatar n tn I've been suffering from generalized anxiety since 1998 and now a clonazepam dependent. Feel better now a days but I am still desperately searching for my real self, I mean, the way I was when anxiety was not yet controlling my mind and body. Don't you feel it too? That the REAL YOU is not there anymore, no where to be found? Don't you always say to yourself, "This is NOT me!" What do you think, guys, will we ever get back to our own world before?
Avatar m tn I thought this was probably related to my generalized anxiety disorder. More recently I have sort of developed a mental fog and some short-term memory problems and occasional (about every three days) headaches which I never used to get. I know I probably sound extremely paranoid, but about every four days I have to clean my shower drain cover because there is hair clogging it up (I shower everyday). I am a 20 year old male. So do you think I have a serious health problem?
Avatar f tn I am 43 years old and have been diagnosed with generalized anxiety and depression for over 15 of those years. Have been in meds on and off (xanax, lexapro, effexor, and now trazodone) and while those indeed curb my anxiety a little and my depression, there is one symptom they never cure:- MY CONSTANT MIND FOG. it us accompanied by fatigue and my occasional panic attack, plus a recurring insomnia.
Avatar m tn I have been recently been diagnosed with GAD generalized anxiety disorder which just means I worry 24/7 that I am dying of a bad illness like cancer or heart attack. Which also makes me a hypochondria which is a person who worries that he has some kind of illness all the time.
Avatar n tn You betcha! There are definitely meds for this. There is Paxil (which I take) which is for generalized anxiety disorder. and there are 100 more! I know that there is a terrible stigma attached to these meds...but hey, whatever works! I also take buspar, which is also for anxiety. Don't know actually what it targets, but it does help! I live a totally normal life.
3060903 tn?1398568723 It works for generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), but doesn’t seem to help the other types of anxiety disorders. Beta blocker medications for anxiety Beta blockers are a type of medication used to treat high blood pressure and heart problems. However, beta blockers are also prescribed off-label for anxiety. Beta blockers work by blocking the effects of norepinephrine, a stress hormone involved in the fight-or-flight response.
Avatar f tn yes anxiety can do that. I have had a numb face and everything that you had. I had memory problems not in my right mind... the numb face is bad.. go to www.anxietycentre.

Avatar f tn Hi, I'm an 18 year-old female, suffering from terrible anxiety any help you could give would be greatly appreciated! I know it seems long but please take the time to read if you can. Basically I was diagnosed with SVT in 2009 at the age of 14, though I had been suffering with it all my life. I would have an episode about once every three months were my heart would reach between 200 - 270 bpm, I was told that otherwise I had a structurally normal heart, ECG was fine, blood test were also fine.
Avatar f tn Hi Im a 28 year old woman and I have have suffered from anxiety for many years. Although I havent been formally diagnosed ..generalized anxiety disorder seems to fit with what I experience. This is chronic worrying, mostly about nothing in particular and it just feels like my body has a mind of its own and that it is just naturally always anxious. I also have brain fog and poor short term memory.
1448936 tn?1363209946 I see so many posts about the scary symptoms we all encounter from anxiety. I got this great book, The Stress Management Handbook- Strategies for Health and Inner Peace, and it has an extennsive list of symptoms related to anxiety. I hope the next time someone is getting anxious over a symptom they can check out this list and realize just how much havoc anxiety can wreak on our bodies.
Avatar m tn I thought I had something to hang my hat on with one band positive on the western blot but the rhuemtologist and family dr agree that it means nothing. The pain in my joints, ringing in my ears, short term memory loss is anxiety related.
