gabapentin in horses

Thanks. It has been going on for 3 weeks now. Its scary and annoying not to be able to take a deep breath all the time.I was given Gabapentin for spasticity. Not sure how i will react to it. Fingers crossed.

I was put on Gabapentin for fibromyalgia symptoms today. If anyone else has used it, how well did it work?

im on gabapentin at the moment and was taken off them for a while, I wasnt sure they were working but they sure were. Im in agony at the mo as it takes a while for gabapentin to kick in properly. I have taken lycra before and in my opinion gabapentin works well on nerve pain it seems to take the edge off the pain, not 100% though maybe 75%. Lycra was better for migranes, it seemed to keep them at bay however I would say it worked about 55/60% on general nerve pain.

but that will be a couple of months to get in. My next stop is to an unscrupulous vet. as they just shoot horses in my shape. Present age 74+.

im giving her extra food and she is rugged in field with hayage but it is still dropping off her.does any one have any adivse in what i could do.

I have owned and rode horses all my life. I am having difficulty coping with not being able to ride because ppl told me I cant. Is it seriously that big a deal to ride? I don't want to hurt my baby, but it's literally the only thing I have done for myself and can't deal with giving it up for so long...

Call the doctor who gave you the gabapentin. Check to see if the symptoms you are having are listed as side effects of the gaba.

I also have my twitches all over my body constantly)) but no medicine seemed to work for longer than 2 weeks, I am tired of living with this pain, everyday, for the past 3 years, waking up in the middle of the night with severe charlie horses that lasts for most of the time at least 8 minutes. The other day I had a very bad episode. My whole body was cramping all at once!! It was the worst pain I have experienced in my life!

i horrible, tearful excruciating pain in my inner thighs that i am forced to jump out of bed and i cant lay back down or sit and especially hurts so much i cry and scream with pain every night what is it and what do i do

Hi everyone, I'm having a difficult time with my legs... I get these horrible pains in my thighs...usually it was my left leg only, now it's both legs. When I get up in the morning, it's not bad, but as the day progresses and with the small amount of walking I do at home the pain starts up.. It's really hard to explain it....it's in patches, comes and goes, burning feeling, achy too...it moves around to different areas of my legs..

Doc has recommended steroid injections, going to see pain doc in a few days. Steroid pack did NOTHING, Advil is a joke. They said I can try Gabapentin. Has anyone had luck with it? Also how did the steroid injections work? Anyone recover from a neck nerve issue without the need for surgery? Thanks all!

I was diagnosed in 1993 but my disease was kind of dormant until 2007. That was when the TN reared it's ugly head and I have been dealing with it since and it's not nice at all. I am on 900mg/day of Tegretol and 900mg/day of Gabapentin. I just started the Gabapentin a few weeks ago and the side effects are not nice. I have also found out yesterday that my dosage will probably have to be raised as I had the usual pain last night about two hours after taking my evening dose.

It has been about 3 weeks since i noticed it but its not getting any worse. Is there an eye med i can put in it in case there is some infection going on without causing blindness? Also there seems to be a little more watery discharge from it, but he typically has a little watery discharge from his eyes anyway. He is an appy and i know i have to watch for moon blindness but just wondering if he hit his eye or scraped it at some point could the swelling below the eye be a sign of infection?

ve been waking myself up in the middle of the night with a Charlie horse in my leg. Then I usually fix it but then a bit later it'll be my other leg. I know it's not a dietary thing because I take my prenatals everyday and usually drink an organic juice cleanse that has 100% of daily fruits and vegetables in it. Has any one else experienced this while pregnant and know why?

Does anybody know why I get Charlie horses in my calf when I'm sleeping? Its only happened a few times but boy does it hurt!

It has been my saviour, helping so much with the wd, anxiety, everything. I just got in....ive been outside with my horses all morning, to tne grocery store, and im happy, smiling even....alot! So, i guess part mind is a very powerful weapon, part gabapentin, and obviously all of you here and your tremendous support, care, and kind words! I aplogize if im overdoing it, but im just happy, and pretty darn proud!!! Thank you so so much. True test will be on refil day....

Anyone else getting charley horses in their sleep? I keep getting them, and i wake up in a panic ! It was pretty painful last night...

Hi ladies .. ive been waking up in the middle of the night with horrible charlie horses in both of my calves. I drink water out the ying yang so I don't think im dehydrated but I just dont know how to help prevent it !

I already have connective tissue spasticity issues and now am getting charlie horses. I woke up with one in my calf a few days ago that was so tight I broke out into a sweat. Last night I had one in my behind muscle and today my thigh. Can this be the chiari too?

got my first ever "charley horse" this morning.. and omg, it hurt SO bad! like my calf is sore now and was on the verge of crying!! until i experience labor pain, this pain is the worst i've ever been in. haha i don't ever want to get one again but i'm sure i will bc it's common during pregnancy. /: any ladies frequently get charley horses and what do you do to not get them?

m 34weeks 0days today and for some strange reason I keep waking up with very painful Charlie horses! Anyone knows why? It slips my mind every time I go to the doctor and I forget to ask her. Thanks.

ve been having charlie horse cramping in my calves that wake me up out of my sleep. They are very painful... and I was wondering if any other moms out there ever had this happen to them. I called my doctor and they ordered some tests stat.

Why is it that when pregnant you get more charlie horses that hurt ten times worse then when your not Pregnant? And how the heck do I get rid of it cause I burst into tears now everytime I get them.

Does it work for Charley horses in the stomach? I get horrible Charley horses in my stomach ever since I had my surgery. My husband says he gets them because of dehydration, but I know that this is not the case for me. Ever since my surgery I drink 8-10 glasses of water a day. A never drink anything carbonated, 1 cup of coffee a day, but I do have to take Miralax every other day.
