Avatar n tn (which I know I am low with having CFS/FM myself) What are the symptoms? Symptoms vary, but most people have upper body obesity, rounded face, increased fat around the neck, and thinning arms and legs. Children tend to be obese with slowed growth rates. Other symptoms appear in the skin, which becomes fragile and thin. It bruises easily and heals poorly. Purplish pink stretch marks may appear on the abdomen, thighs, buttocks, arms and breasts.
1033336 tn?1252509731 I would love to fast for 40days to cleanse the toxins in my body but I would get so sick doing that because of hypoglycemia symptoms. Avatar f tn I have fibromyalgia symptoms triggered by a mosquito borne illness. I use monolaurin (amazing!) to get rid of muscle pain, exercise regularly (walking, yoga, stretching) to get rid of joint pain and joint stiffness and quit refined sugar, gluten and dairy. I am now in remission. I still suffer from fatigue but nothing like it used to be! This seems to be the magic formula for me. Also, I take magnesium citrate at night for anxiety and sleep.
5586759 tn?1370438872 I've had Fibromyalgia since I was a teenager and I have gone through one pregnancy already, but at the time I hadn't been diagnosed properly for the ailments that I have. It's now round two, I am pregnant again, and I'm wondering about good suggestions to help maintain lower levels of pain. Last time I was put on bed rest at 8 1/2 months and that was torture for my sciatica nerve. I'm trying to stay active and strong. I've been going through physical therapy and things of that nature.
Business woman3 Hello, Sometimes symptoms of fibromyalgia may flare up in pregnancy. At this time, no fibromyalgia medications are completely safe to use during pregnancy. In fact, doctors recommend that women with fibromyalgia go off of painkillers and antidepressants before they become pregnant. The safest treatments for pregnant women with fibromyalgia may include massage, exercise, yoga, meditation, and rest.

Avatar n tn Since giving birth all of these things have increased as well as back and hip pain. I'm concerned because I'm 5 weeks post pregnancy and it doesn't seem to be getting better for me. I suffered from a considerable amount of depression for a number of years which the doctors seemed to always blame for these issues. I have however been off any and all medication for depression for nearly 2 years yet these symptoms just haven't eased at all.
Avatar f tn Some people are even using natural progesterone cream for fibromyalgia treatment. I don't now how far along you are in your pregnancy, but maybe the pain will get better. Also maybe there are some natural treatments to look into that would be safe to use while pregnant. How about a massage? There are natural supplements for pain too, but I do not know if they are safe to use during pregnancy. Check to see if you have a natural healthcare practitioner in your area.

216278 tn?1308864682 My husband and I are ready to start thinking about having a baby, but there is hardly ANY information about Fibromyalgia and Pregnancy out there. Studies are showing that it seems that it IS harder for Fibro patients to get pregnant. However, there are a lot of women with Fibro reporting that they never had that problem. I found some really great info. on the National Fibromyalgia Association's website: www.fmaware.org .
Avatar f tn I'm not 100% convinced that my problem is Fibromyalgia, or that it's that alone.
Avatar m tn -Aches and pains basically on entire body; worst in the neck, shoulders, back, arms, thighs, and lower legs -Some pain on almost all joints, feels more when I move my joints. -My joints feel they are missing some lubrication, they make cracking sounds when I move them -Burning sensation on feet when I walk and hands especially during the night.
Avatar f tn ) with this condition, I looked at the symptoms and realized that I never had any symptoms from this condition. They say that it normally gets better as you age.... but I never had joint pain when I was a child or even several years after my mono (CFS) diagnosis. So in my case... I don't believe this condition has affected me... at least not that I'm aware of. Have you tried massage therapy ? I often get Tuina massages and highly recommend !
Avatar m tn In 2006, became pregnant with kid #2. Felt good during pregnancy then the arthritis/fibromyalgia is working OT. I have never felt worse. 4 months post baby - hair began falling out at alarming rate, could hardly get out of bed yet could not sleep, periods were HEAVY, edema and swollen neck, wheezing and coughing. Saw ENT and found out I had Hypothyroid.. Recently saw an endocrinologist and he says it is Hashimotos which is autoimmune thyroid. I am only on 50 mcg Levothyroxine(Synthroid).
Avatar f tn Anyone who suffers with fibromyalgia gone through a pregnancy? I'd like to know your experiences regarding pregnancy symptoms, coping with fibro throughout, labour (worse or easier?) & medication related issues. I'm 18 weeks pregnant with fibromyalgia and have been having a hard time. It's my first pregnancy so quite unsure what to expect!
1852058 tn?1320162300 Over the years, I kept increasing it which cured most of my symptoms. There is a new fibromyalgia med called Savella which I read praise after praise on another website. Also anti-depressants can serve as pain killers. I have severe migraines, which my headache specialist said to raise my current anti-depressant Effexor even more to treat the migraines. Due to one side effect from the Effexor, I said no. He then suggested Savella which I am going to switch to.
899635 tn?1241972456 I was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism (2 months ago) and have started synthroid 150 mcgs at the time, and since the 5th day on this med I have had muscle problems. Ive looked up symptoms and it all points to fibro, what kind of testing gets done to find out for sure? What questions should I ask of my doctor to find out? Is there treatment for this condition and if so, what is it?
Avatar f tn Hang in there. I can tell you that many fibro patients have the same symptoms as you do. Both fibromyalgia and CFS patients have the same symptoms as many autoimmune conditions. Dizziness, I know, can go along with MS, Hashimoto's and fibromyalgia.

1063463 tn?1302278219 I am a 34 year old female that has had weird symptoms for sometime now. It started in 2003 with a severe bout of vertigo. Then that same year during the winter I started getting hives when i get cold. For a few years I had no new symptoms but I dealt with those 2 the best way I could. In april I was shopping when my legs became heavy and I had an overall strange feeling. I came home and went to bed and basically I have been in bed since then.
Avatar n tn If you didn't have the spine imaged, you should talk to your doc as MS can show up there too. Hypothyroidism can certainly be a cause of your symptoms. Once treated adequately, your symptoms may improve. Another test that may be helpful is an EMG to see if this a problem of your peripheral nerves. Laboratory workup such as ANA, sed rate, blood count and electrolye profile can also help rule out other potential problems such as lupus and other rheumatological disorders.
Avatar f tn When I put it that way, most of my patients decide to opt out. With fibromyalgia, I have Often seen symptoms improve during pregnancy, the increased hormone levels and muscle/ligament relaxation seem to help a lot of people. Fibromyalgia is so variable and unpredictable though that I could certainly not guarantee that will happen for you--only HOPE! Best Wishes and congratulations!

Actually, mercury was in many immunizations (used as a preservative), but have been (supposedly) recently removed from products. I cannot get much information on this subject.
Avatar f tn Heartburn, morning sickness, headaches, backaches, tender breasts, and fatigue and excessive tiredness. Though, the problem with people like us, is fibro symptoms are a lot like pregnancy symptoms: aches, tiredness, ibs, and of course your breasts will be tender with fibro pain. I'm going to the docs soon to get an ultrasound just to be sure (because some women can have neg tests)... anyways, all I can tell you about the pain is what the docs tell you (which I hate it when they say this but...
