Common Questions and Answers about Fibromyalgia symptoms gallstones

fibromyalgia

Avatar f tn So as things are I have had a diagnosis of fibromyalgia last year that I never agreed with as I didn't recognise myself in the symptoms at all and I have had a number of professional opinions since which agree that I do not have FM. I then had a diagnosis of chronic regional pain syndrome from a rheumy, but it was after he received my blood tests back that he discovered my VDD and has said he is hopeful that a lot of my symptoms are due to this and so may well be fixable.
214544 tn?1201150990 Tick borne infection can cause fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, arthritis, thyroid problems, and symptoms identical to Multiple Sclerosis. There is a big problem with getting tested for Lyme Disease. The tests are not reliable, and will often miss known cases of Lyme. Because of this, physicians are supposed to evaluate the patient's symptoms and history, and diagnose based on this, rather than on blood tests. This is called a clinical diagnosis.
1435611 tn?1283625380 It just doesn't make sense that I would have this problem for so long and he's telling me it's because of gallstones that were just found within the last few years. Gallstones couldn't have caused the problem back when I was 18 so it probably isn't gallstones now. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
1216899 tn?1288573925 With all the sites out there that have info on Vitamin D, their just doesn't seem to be one that has all the symptoms that can accompany vitamin d deficiency. I'm going to list my symptoms, so that others may have some insight, in layman's terms. I hope anyone else with the deficiency would also post theirs.
Avatar f tn For the last month, maybe longer I've had painful symptoms of gallstones. I will tell my doctor about them, next appointment. Could gall bladder be the reason for all my symptoms for so many months? I will discuss CFS with Dr. again. It was discussed early on, but I want to explore all possibilities. My Dr. said he would stick with me through this.
Avatar n tn I am listing all of these symptoms as I wanted you to know the full picture and I do not know if they are connected somehow or not. Thank you for your time.
Avatar f tn Hang in there. I can tell you that many fibro patients have the same symptoms as you do. Both fibromyalgia and CFS patients have the same symptoms as many autoimmune conditions. Dizziness, I know, can go along with MS, Hashimoto's and fibromyalgia.
Avatar f tn I know, all classic symptoms of heart attack. I was seen in the ER 2 weeks ago today and had the normal cardiac work-up (EKG, chest x-ray, cardiac enzymes) all negative and they did a CT scan of my head to rule out a stroke. Sent home told to follow up with my PCP. Since then I have seen my PCP twice, cardiologist and rheumatologist. They all seem to think that it is not cardiac related and possibly neck/back problems.

Avatar n tn It sounds as though you're going to be investigating the cause of your symptoms for some time, and having these reports in your own hands will help you do your own research, and speed up appointments with any new docs you may consult. I can't stress this strongly enough: you have to get the records. Sometimes things are missed that a new doc will pick up on - or even you in your own research. Docs don't always tell patients the full story.
Avatar f tn to name a few Keep in mind that fibromyalgia, CFS, MS and lymes disease also have similar symptoms.
Avatar n tn Karen: I had similar symptoms (but no blood). I had some knowledge abt the symptoms of GERD & Barrett's Esophagus. The pains I had (shoulder (front and back), under my arm, under the sternum, and across back was GERD pain. I furst went to a heart specialist for tests. They were negative. Then, I went to a Gastroenterologist and confirmed i have Barrett's Esophagus. Yes, I would go to a Gastroentologist.
969042 tn?1259071375 However I like your suggestion from before about a naturopathic doctor, there are 3 in our city. Since I have IBS and gallstones and many food sensitivities do you think it's possible to be inherited?
Avatar n tn I have an aunt and 2 cousins that have this disease. I have another cousin that is plagued by this IBS. Now about my symptoms; I have IBS and I've been told by my doctor it comes with my fibromyalgia. I can NOT get further than 2 seconds from a restroom, because when the pain strikes . . . well I really get on the move. It is painful, exhausting and weakening, and always strikes right after I eat, regardless of what I eat.
Avatar f tn Currently, I am diagnosed with psoriatric arthritis and fibromyalgia. I am on various medications such as Enbrel 50 mg, methodextrate, folic acid, neurontin, darvocet and lexapro for approximately two years. Recently, about one month ago I started to develop severe rib pain radiating to my should blades in my back after I eat (feeling like I can't breath) heart attack symptoms.
Avatar m tn I have recently seen a new primary care doctor who believes I show the symptoms of hypercalcemia.
Avatar m tn I used to have chest pains I thought were indigestion, they turned out to be gallstones, and I had to have my gall bladder removes. Now I have chest pains a lot, almost as bad as the gallstones, but no known cause. Had 2 ekgs no abnormalities. I used to be very active all my life: worked in physically demanding jobs, idea of fun was a 14 mile hike. Started getting weaker, thought it was age. About 6 years ago I could not get up from floor without help.
Avatar f tn i was told i had fibromyalgia a few years ago, after i had a bad car accident. i was put on some heavy things at first,a fenyntol patch.....i stopped that real quick....i was always wacked. then i was on percocet....i hated those to. After a few different drugs I was put on demerol,I HAD THOSE BEFORE FOR GALLSTONES...WITH NO PROBLEMS! A few years have gone by and over this time i have had 3 different docs....most of them went on to bigger things...other than family practise.
Avatar f tn I wonder if any of your doctors thought of fibromyalgia? The symptoms you have, fatigue, weakness. body aches, IBS are usually seen in patients with fibromyalgia. I have had it for twenty years now and am pretty sick and tired (literally) of going to this specialist and that one. Just food for thought. There is lots of information on the web about fibro. Maybe you should check it out to see if you fit the profile of a person with fibromyalgia.
Avatar f tn in my shoulder. Has anyone still had symptoms 6 months after an appendectomy? I'm trying to figure out if this is all the result of an ovarian cyst that has been there since my appendectomy or if maybe there is something else going on. Thank you for your help in advance.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have had surgery on both knees, carpal tunnel in hands, gallbladder (15 gallstones), a heart ablation for SVT heart rate of 215 for an hour 2 times, neck surgery (with fusion and cadaever bone placement) and back surgery herniated disks and internal spinal chord stimulator placement.
Avatar m tn We all suffer with digestion issues, fibromyalgia and flue like symptoms. Lyme can cause your body to become low thyroid, to have poor digestion, have adrenal problems, have blood sugar problems and cognitive problems. I recommend that you see a lyme specialist. You can search for one in your area by going to Lymenet.org, log in and go to search for doctor. It is very important that you go to an endocrinologist who is current. Find one that goes by the new TSH levels which are 0.5-3.
Avatar n tn Is it cholecystitis (inflamamation of the gallbladder)? I'm really glad this topic came up. I've been having upper right quadrant pain off and on for years. It's gotten worse since I finished tx on 10/20. Never thought it could be from gallstones or gallbladder inflammation, just thought it was the hep.
Avatar n tn with the possibility of changing this diagnosis should things change. Gallstones about five years ago. Had my gallbladder out. Have had now three gallstone like attacks since then that GI doc said may have been stone in bile duct that passed. Nothing showed up in bloodwork or ultrasound to indicate concern for a "reservoir" being formed to hold gallstones. Also, a history of migraines (esp.

Avatar n tn rheumatoid arthritis. I have fibromyalgia, and have many of the symptoms that you listed. Chronic fatigue syndrome also has many of the same symptoms. Chronic fatigue is caused by viruses, so since you had trouble with that in 1994 that could be the problem. Some doctors want to act like fibromyalgia is all in your head, but trust me, it is not. There isn't a test to confirm the diagnosis-that's why they test you for some of the other things that have similar symptoms to rule them out first.
658828 tn?1225050195 She tested my urine for a kidney infection b/c of the back pain but there was nothing indicative of an infection. I do not have any symptoms of kidney or liver problems (believe I have read about them!) No jaundice, edema, loss of appetite. I have gained weight not lost it! If I feel down below my rib cage on my back, it is tender to the touch. My kidney area and upper back hurts badly and it feels kind of like a burning sensation, even my shoulder blades hurt.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am feeling very frustrated at the many doctors I've been to and the lack of answers I'm finding. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia when I was 11 years old and over the years I am not sure if that is what I have anymore. My pain has lessened but headaches and fatigue have increased. I have tingling and numbness in my hands, severe abdominal pain that comes and goes, dizzy spells, and the worst has been crazy itching on my legs and arms for the past two and a half years.
Avatar m tn I had some minor muscle cramping for about a week after, but not sure if that was related to me stopping it. I checked my symptoms and I know that some things point to possibly gall stones - but wondering if my symptoms sound like that, or possibly something else like stress. I'd appreciate any thoughts that you might have. Thanks in advance.
