fibromyalgia in teenagers symptoms

I am 16 years old and i have alot of pain in my joints..mostly in my knees, ankles, and lower back..i have had numerous xrays but there is never anything that shows up...i have played sports in the past but i never had problems then..i havent played any sports in over a year.. my joints are always very bad and there is a lot of unexplained pain..i am wondering could i have arthritis at the age of 16 or could there be something else wrong? pls help!!!

When I was about 27, my doctor diagnosed me with anxiety disorder and fibromyalgia. I became pregnant soon after then felt better for quite a long time. The past 3/4 yrs. I have been feeling very tired. really lack energy and have painful symptoms that chnge from week to week. One day I have terrible shoulder pain. another stomach pains that travel from different parts of my abdomen. One month terrible lower back pain, other days stabbing pains in my legs and arms.

I've been suspecting for some time that the weather/changes in weather affect my symptoms. I've been far worse for the past couple of days than I was for a week or two before that - and it just occured to me that after having stable cold weather for weeks, we have had rainy weather for two days now. Milder and wet. Coincidence? Anyone else with the same experience?

I am a 22 year old female and after doing a bit of research it sounds as though I have several symptoms that occur under fibromyalgia. I have had throughout my entire life a bizarre amount of muscle problems and pain. In recent times (last 5-6 months) I have had occasions where my body and skin hurts so much that even my shirt is hurting it. This isn't an everyday, or even every week, event but it has happened probably 5 or 6 time.

Recently, I've noticed 8-9 floaters. Should I be worried? Is it going to get worse? From what I've read, floaters in younger people are located in the premacular bursa but what exactly causes it?

I forgot to ask....... but I REALLY want to know. CAN STRESS really give me Neurological symptoms of Fibromyalgia??? I have a "type A" personality to put it mildly. I rarely relax. I am always busy and have alot of issues to deal with regarding people.: employees, teenagers,maintenance on many things breaking all around me. I am tired of being the "go to" guy. Yes I do have a crackberry also. I don't want to get on medication for depression. EVER. So...

I was just diagnosed today with Fibromyalgia. The doc sent my blood in and will know by Thursday if everything else is eliminated, but she said she's pretty sure it's Fibro and "severe depression". She prescribed Cymbalta, which I started taking today (30mg for a week, then 60mg for two weeks, then go back to see how its going). Problem: I'm a self proclaimed hypochondriac, so after taking my first Cymbalta, I'm sitting here waiting to have a seizure or something.

What you describe can be a symptom commonly seen with Lyme disease as well. You may want to have this evaluated. Fibro is not commonly found in teenagers. But it can happen.

she said fibromyalgia was the cause just a few days before she went in as her symptoms are like that.. she gets numb in the legs but not like its gone to sleep.. but now she can not walk.. todays prelim symptoms hyper thyroid treatments and hormonal treatments. but she stilll cant walk.. saying its long term rehab.. but sounds like they are punting.. symptoms. shaky limbs cant walk, muscles feel like she ran a marathon she says. eye sight deteriorating... help..

My 16 year old daughter has been diagnosed with hypothyroidism (TSH 11.96) and was put on 75 mg of Synthroid. She has terrible fatigue, headaches and trouble concentrating. After 2 1/2 weeks on the replacement hormone her symptoms have worsened and now her neck is so sensitive that she can't wear shirts that have a collar. After repeated calls to the doctor he increased her dosage to 100 mg and told us to wait for the medicine to take effect.

What are the common symptoms of fibromyalgia of this illness? What kind of pain do we suffer from it?Which part of the body being attacked?

Please consult an orthopaedist and rheumatologist and discuss this possibility and start the treatment as your symptoms don’t relate to any other disorder but Fibromyalgia . Prostate problems and UTIs are more frequent in patients with Fibromyalgia . Hope this helps you . Take care and regards !

Hi I am pretty for sure I have Fibromyalgia some of my symptoms include Soar and stiff muscles in my legs and I just have a Flu like feeling all the time and also the pressure points you have. I have those also. Does this sound like Fibromyalgia to you.

The typical medications indicated seem to antidepressants and pain relievers. Please give us the Clif's Notes version of fibromyalgia and if diagnosed, what are the treatments.

ve always had symptoms of fibromyalgia but never real bad but after I got that Sinus Infection my symptoms of FM became Severe. I also have a family history of Fibromyalgia, my Father, Aunt, and first cousin has it. My symptoms are so severe that my doctor had to put me off of school ,and on to homebound, where a teacher comes out to my house and brings me work twice a week.

He had no memory as to putting them there. Yesterday I put in some laundry and then later put my clothes in the dryer. I left the house. He then came home and did his laundry and when it came time to dry them he took my clothes out and put them in a basket without folding or hanging some of it up. I came in and asked who did that and he swore it wasn't him. I knew it wasn't me nor my wife so that left him. He swore up and down that he didn't do it.
