Enbrel blood donation

Common Questions and Answers about Enbrel blood donation

Avatar n tn I recently attempted to donate blood however, I received a letter from the blood center saying that I tested positive/reactive to Hepatitis B Core Antibody, but negative for Hepatitis B Surface Antigen. However, three years ago before entering college I received the set of three immunizations against Hepatitis. I was wondering if you could tell me what having tested reactive for the Hepatitis B Core Antibody means and how this could have happened if I was immunized.
86075 tn?1238118691 perhaps you could bring a hot water bottle or one of those small disposable heat packs with you and place it over the cubital vein before the phlebotomy. i've been going to the local blood donation center in order to have the therapeutic phlebotomies. those vampires are the best. perhaps because they are doing volunteers and they want to keep those blood donations coming. hope you get a RVR and SVR. perhaps one of these days i will consider tx too.
Avatar n tn Hepatitis C is caused by a virus and it's transmitted from blood contact....meaning if somehow, infected blood got into his blood. Risk factors include blood transfusions, IV drug use, tattoos, body piercings, etc. Hepatitis C (as well as alcohol use) can cause cirrhosis. The fact that he stopped drinking probably helped his liver, but cirrhosis doesn't really go away by itself. Successful treatment for Hepatitis C sometimes reverses some of the damage.
