Common Questions and Answers about Elisa test result interpretation

elisa-test

Avatar m tn Is the above Elisa test accurate and should I take the high positive as a definite diagnosis of HSV-1? ? Or would a WB test in another 2 months be more helpful in this case?
Avatar f tn He also done strip test 3 times which was negative but the elisa test showed the above result I asked him for PCR but he again advised me to do the Elisa. My concern is that coming days I have medical appointment for U.S immigration visa which I have waited for so long. Will this effect on my visa or not...
Avatar m tn that result also positive. both cases were weak test lines. so.on that day a lab and make ELISA lab test. and the result came back negative. all tests were performed 3 month after unsafe encounter. what should i do now?
Avatar m tn My interpretation is #1 is the standard screening test (ELISA). If the test is positive then the western blot is done automatically. This is the standard testing for lyme that most non-lyme specialists order. I just wonder how much it costs if the test is negative and no further testing is done. It should be a lot less. The ELISA is not very reliable and misses a large percentage of lyme cases. #2 is the western blot in itself. I think this is what it means but I'm not sure.
Avatar n tn I had a unprotected exposure on 16th feb this year with a girl of my neighborhood whose having one more sexually active partner, after 2 months i got tested with hiv elisa test n the result came back negative but i was still anxious and got tested again for elisa after 3 months n 20 days from my last exposure it came back as negative too !! 12563078 tn?1427508556 i did elisa 4th generation test for p24 antigen 23 days after exposure and came negative and then again did elisa 4th gen hiv 1,2 ag ab screening test 53 days after exposure and the result came non reactive, are these test confirmatory or not or is their still probability of me having hiv?
Avatar m tn hi sir my elisa test after 5months report is negative and my reoprts description is this SEROLOGY Test Description Value Observed Biological Reference Interval Accreditation HIV 1 & 2 0.60 Index Value Non Reactive: Index Value = 1.0 Interpretation Non Reactive result implies that no Anti HIV -1 or Anti HIV -2 antibodies have been detected in the sample by this method.

12563078 tn?1427508556 btw the test i took 23 days after exposure said it was 4th gen elisa for p24 antigen and the test i took this time says hiv 1,2 ag/ab screening test (4th gen)
Avatar m tn You also could request repeat testing by the HerpeSelect ELISA test, which give the numerical value I described above; or you could have another test with the BiokitUSA test (I don't know if it's marketed in Canada, e.g. as BiokitCanana?), which is a pretty good tie-breaker. But why mess around with the less certain tests? See above about Western blot testing.
Avatar n tn Hi, I recently had and HIV test since I had some misgivings about my status after I had an unprotected sexual encounter with someone I didn't know well. It was like 9 weeks ago. At the lab, they told me it would be an ELISA Fourth Generation test, and so, the results say I'm HIV negative, but there are some figures related to an RFV item which I don't understand well. It says my RFV is 0.02. Could anyone help me out with the interpretation of this?
Avatar n tn Should I be concerned and proceed to get the WB test or the BioKitUSA test? or is my current result of 1.4 for HSVII sufficient to say I do not have HSVII?
Avatar n tn I had a risk exposure with a unknon status CSW 3 months ago. After the 3 months I had done a HIV DUO Quick (p24 & abc) test in a private lab. The test result came out negetive. . HIV DUO Quick (p24 abc) test is a acqurate test at 3 months? But I did not done HIV 1&2 antibody ELISA Test. Need HIV 1&2 Anitbody (Elisa) to conclusive? Still I have skin rash, dry cough, white tongue and night sweat.
Avatar m tn I believe the test used is call HSV-2 Antibody IgG Elisa Euroimmun test, my result is 43.5 RU/ml which is a positive according to the index. I want to know what are the chances of a false positive for this index? And what are the chances that the index will be lowered to a point that it will become a negative?
Avatar n tn I tested positive for herpes on a hsv2 igg test (dont remember result, it was a low negative like 1.65 or something). I wanted to get a confirmation so i got a herpes inhibition test. Which was NEGATIVE. The results said this: "The HSV-2 IgG screening assay was repeated at Focus Diagnostics, and the result was not positive (i.e., the index was <1.10); thus, the inhibition study result could not be determined.
Avatar m tn In the test result, it says the following: Interpretation for methid HIV 1/2 (CLIA) No Sign of HIV 1/2 Infection with IgG/AgM Elisa What is this test? Teak do u know it? Also, it mentions in the units : qualitative. What do they mean by qualitative?
Avatar m tn I am unfamiliar with the Euroimmun HSV test, or how to interpret a borderline test result. However, with most herpes blood tests, boderline results (especially for HSV-2) in fact are negative. And with the ELISA tests like Euroimmun, a rising value that nevertheless remains in the negative or low positive range generally doesn't mean anything. Further, as discussed previously with Dr.
