Avatar m tn a) Antibody to HSV - IgG (ELISA) Observed values Negative (/=16to22Ru/ml Positive ) b) Antibody to HSV IgM (Elisa) Observed Values 4.41 RU/ml -> Negative (/=16to22Ru/ml Positive ) The Doctor told me the results were just fine and I needn't worry. And that there was no need to get tested again. Today I noticed these small white spots around the rim of my penis. Also, I feel a mild pain in the groin area. Does this look like Herpes?
Avatar m tn only 35% of low positive (index values 1.1–3.5) Focus HSV-2 ELISA results confirmed as positive by Biokit and WB compared with 92% of those with index values >3.5. Mathematical modeling of the data resulted in expected positive predictive values over 98% for populations with antibody prevalences typical of clinical practices in the US and Europe." http://www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov/articl ... id=1276011 Furthermore, in a previous post on this site, Dr. Handsfield wrote: ". . .
Avatar f tn I had a STD check and found HSV 1&2 (ELISA Method) values by igg method is 1.9 & 1.8 respectively,igM values are negative. I did earlier test on Dec 12th, it said { IgG = 1:100 IgM = N E G A T I V O } for both HSV 1 & 2. my last test on Feb 4th ,is the one i mentioned in the previous post ( igg 1.9 & igg 1.8 , igM negative ) for both HSV 1 & 2. i dont have any symptoms. ( can someone tell me any obvious symptoms to clarify ).
Avatar m tn I had a risky encounter (well risky by paranoia standards) 6 months back. I waited for the long window period to get as accurate a test as possible and avoid false negatives. I walked into a hospital and got a test yesterday. The results say "anti-bodies to HIV - Non Reactive" with a reading of 0.274. The report classifies values within 0.9-0.99 as intermediate and values greater than 1 as reactive.
Avatar m tn Fourth gen Elisa duo and I wouldn't know whatever they use in the NHS Scotland.

Avatar m tn Once again, you never had an exposure.
Avatar n tn Hi, I recently had and HIV test since I had some misgivings about my status after I had an unprotected sexual encounter with someone I didn't know well. It was like 9 weeks ago. At the lab, they told me it would be an ELISA Fourth Generation test, and so, the results say I'm HIV negative, but there are some figures related to an RFV item which I don't understand well. It says my RFV is 0.02. Could anyone help me out with the interpretation of this?
Avatar m tn 9 When i lokked at this forum, i saw on Herpes medhelp forum that some person who works in hospital and her name is Terri Warrem, she says that hor herpes elisa test, true negatives are index values up to 0.2 and higher indexes can indicate reason for worry. I thought that anything less then 0.9 in ELISA is negative in every sense. I am well out of winodw period. And most of people get index values like 0.09 or up to 0.15 and so. So my questions are: 1.
Avatar f tn Do you have hsv1? What was the numeric value of the quest positive tests?
Avatar m tn Hi All, Please help me I had vaginal sex with a CSW 15 weeks back and the condom broke during the act, I realized this after ejaculating. I had elisa test at 5 weeks which was negative with observed value as 0.005 and the cut off was 0.4, another ELISA at 10 weeks which was negative with observed value as 0.031 and the cut off was 0.4 and the last test I took was ECLIA for HIV 1 & 2 which came back negative with a observed value as 0.56 and the cut off was 0.
Avatar f tn I just dont get in my 9 week tests were negative for both so i caught both HSV 1 and 2 after a one time exposure from some jackwagon that said they don't even have it. i HATE liars...
Avatar f tn Grace: I saw an answer you gave on one of your posts that a test with a positive or negative warrants retesting with a test that gives numeric values. Doesn't the Immunoblot just give a positive or negative? I've always understood that the Immunoblot was comparative to the Elisa testing. IS there a difference between these two tests as far as accuracy that you know of? Would there be a reason to choose Elisa over the Immunoblot? ...

Avatar m tn that result also positive. both cases were weak test lines. so.on that day a lab and make ELISA lab test. and the result came back negative. all tests were performed 3 month after unsafe encounter. what should i do now?
6696547 tn?1383850281 ) As I did the test after this long time and got the negative (non reactive) result, do I need to repeat the test or do any advanced test??? Please please answer my questions about the test value and the HIV window period......
Avatar m tn ok means if in future i test by elisa and this value may become 0.80.....its still not risk ?
Avatar n tn If not can Life 360, fleetwood20, HowardH or gracefromHHP do some research on this herpes test & tell me how reliable it is in giving accurate results & if is a type specific test that can accurately differentiate between herpes 1 & 2 please?
Avatar f tn Although compared to the last month ELISA test, the values for HSV1 were a little bit higher this time (5.6 vs. 4.4 of a lower than 9 scale for negative). I called both labs and told them the contradictory results. On the lab with positive results they retook the test. On the lab of my negative results the Dr.
Avatar m tn Hi,i had an encounter before 3 years,i tested using ELISA for both HIV 1 & 2 after 3,6 and 10 months, all came out Nonreactive. After nearly 3 years i checked my blood for HB,if the result gives any abnormal values, will it be related to my HIV fear ?
601156 tn?1229285825 I believe from what I could find that it's just the machine that they use for elisa testing and not the actual herpes test but I could be wrong. Terri warren , the herpes expert here on medhelp, would be the better person to ask this question to.
Avatar f tn only 35% of low positive (index values 1.1–3.5) Focus HSV-2 ELISA results confirmed as positive by Biokit and WB compared with 92% of those with index values >3.5." Note: ELISA and EIA are regarded as the same. The page basically says what I have said: 35% of those with the less than 3.5 range are actually positive. I myself have had an HSV-1 and HSV-2 ELISA test come back and I have had a low range HSV-2 as well (1.
Avatar f tn Then I have NO idea what the first was about. And the second the lab told me what the ELISA thing, but there are no values. What does "Weak Positive" really mean? But since three tests all said "positive" does that mean I really have both Herpes. I also took a 4th test. Will let you know how that goes.
