Would a 12 week Elisa and a 16 week UniGold Rapid test still be considered conclusive if you found out a month later that your latest WBC came up low during a routine physical? A follow-up test showed that my WBC returned to normal a few weeks later. I see on the internet that immunocompromised people can take longer to seroconvert, but I am not sure if I would be in that category. I never used drugs and I'm not on chemo. Nor do I have diabetes or any other diagnosed issue.

Thanks. So if I got this right the hospital labs are using third generation, also, correct? The hospital I go to says they send some things out , but they are able to do elisa tests there, so I imagine they are third generation, correct? They said they batch them and run them once a day, I am assuming due to expense. I am going to get my test tomorrow and my allergies are really bad , Iknow the claritin won't casue a problem, but will the allergies themselves?
Does anyone here have experience with the ELISA/ACT testing for delayed food allergies? This is a specific type of testing for delayed (food and other) allergies that supposedly is more accurate, with fewer false positives and greater sensitivity, but the vast majority of the reviews and articles about it online are by the person/company that does the testing.
I've had blood tests over the years for over 80 foods and have delayed allergies (aka intolerances) to dozens of foods.
Now I am really worried. I have tested for HIV test. My elisa test is postive and western blot is negative.I was tested 7 months after that sex episode. I have developed so much anxiety that i keep getting tested. My elisa keeps on coming positive and western blot is negative. last test was done after 1 year. 1. do you think I have tested too late that western blot is not able to detect antibodies.? I know that elisa test has some false positive results....2.
The rapid tests are also ELISA tests and are just as reliable as a regular lab-based blood test.
Oral sex is not a risk for HIV transmission so you have absolutely nothing to worry about. Your symptoms have nothing to do with HIV.
my doctor is said to me to give pcr-rt (quantitative) test? what is pcr? I am very worried.
There is a lot of new tests but elisa is just the type of test, there are 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation of elisas, and there continue to be a lot of research for new tests, the newest teste tend to be rapid test accurate as elsia tests, there has been also improvement also in the NAAT tests, and some labs are trying to come up with a new 5th generation rapid test (PCR+Antibody+p24) but is not ready yet.
My husband had positive elisa test with 3.45 value in august 2016 for hepatitis c. Then he got treatment aND it showed 0.85 value in January 2017. He got checked his hepatitis C by elisa test again two days back. It showed a value of 85.0. He's active n doing job. No cough or any other symptoms. He did it as just a routine checkup. Please guide if elisa test can be 85.0 ?? What should we do next? Much worried! !

About a week or so ago I needed to get a medical check for work. When I got my results back, I was shocked to be told that the Elisa test came back as HIV reactive at 1.52. They tested it twice. I really have no idea what that number stands for, though.

hello, i had protected sex with an hiv positive girl (i just discovered), i had sex with her twice, but she gave me several oral sex, i saw some blood on my penis in one of them, from her mouth i think.. i have no symptoms untill now, i did Elisa test 52 days after 1st time and 20 days after last time and today it´s been 2 months since 1st time (the day i saw the blood) and 1 month after our last time.

my last sex was at 04/11/2010 i did the first test on 22/1/2011 the result wasELISA : HIV1&HIV2 NEGATIVE (0.15) i started to get worried of the number so i did a second test on 15/2/2011 just to make sure that i completed 3 monthes and the rsult came ELISA : HIV1&HIV2 NEGATIVE (0.33) i freeked out why that number is keeping rising !!
