Elisa test interpretation

Common Questions and Answers about Elisa test interpretation

elisa-test

Avatar m tn My interpretation is #1 is the standard screening test (ELISA). If the test is positive then the western blot is done automatically. This is the standard testing for lyme that most non-lyme specialists order. I just wonder how much it costs if the test is negative and no further testing is done. It should be a lot less. The ELISA is not very reliable and misses a large percentage of lyme cases. #2 is the western blot in itself. I think this is what it means but I'm not sure.
Avatar f tn Thanks for the answer Dave. Couple of follow up questions. Do you know if the specific test I took was an Elisa test I couldn't tell because it said ARUP in the title and I've never heard of that before. I remember reading an old post from grace that asked someone if they ever had cold sores and the person said no and she responded saying that if they never had cold sores and had contracted HSV-2 they would probably be showing the typical herpes blisters.
12563078 tn?1427508556 i did elisa 4th generation test for p24 antigen 23 days after exposure and came negative and then again did elisa 4th gen hiv 1,2 ag ab screening test 53 days after exposure and the result came non reactive, are these test confirmatory or not or is their still probability of me having hiv?
Avatar m tn in rapid tests i used whole blood. interpretation time is according to instruction.of test. but i made lab ECLia, Duo and normal ELisa.
Avatar m tn Herpes Elisa antibodies test IgG type specific 11/14/2012 - result: 1.89 (labcorp) ^same test (same location, labcorp) 11/20/2012 - result: 1.65 HSV2 IGG INHIBITION,ELISA (quest labs) 01/2013 - result: The HSV-2 IgG screening assay was repeated at Focus Diagnostics, and the result was not positive (i.e., the index was <1.10); thus, the inhibition study result could not be determined.
Avatar m tn Is the above Elisa test accurate and should I take the high positive as a definite diagnosis of HSV-1? ? Or would a WB test in another 2 months be more helpful in this case?
Avatar n tn I had a unprotected exposure on 16th feb this year with a girl of my neighborhood whose having one more sexually active partner, after 2 months i got tested with hiv elisa test n the result came back negative but i was still anxious and got tested again for elisa after 3 months n 20 days from my last exposure it came back as negative too !! Are these two tests enough ?? Or i have to retest again ??
Avatar f tn He also done strip test 3 times which was negative but the elisa test showed the above result I asked him for PCR but he again advised me to do the Elisa. My concern is that coming days I have medical appointment for U.S immigration visa which I have waited for so long. Will this effect on my visa or not...
Avatar n tn Hi, I recently had and HIV test since I had some misgivings about my status after I had an unprotected sexual encounter with someone I didn't know well. It was like 9 weeks ago. At the lab, they told me it would be an ELISA Fourth Generation test, and so, the results say I'm HIV negative, but there are some figures related to an RFV item which I don't understand well. It says my RFV is 0.02. Could anyone help me out with the interpretation of this?
Avatar m tn hi sir my elisa test after 5months report is negative and my reoprts description is this SEROLOGY Test Description Value Observed Biological Reference Interval Accreditation HIV 1 & 2 0.60 Index Value Non Reactive: Index Value = 1.0 Interpretation Non Reactive result implies that no Anti HIV -1 or Anti HIV -2 antibodies have been detected in the sample by this method.
Avatar m tn I just did my hbsag elisa test it come positive with- TEST OD 2.45 AND CUT OF VALUE IS 0.10 is it can be fixed or can't.

Avatar m tn In the test result, it says the following: Interpretation for methid HIV 1/2 (CLIA) No Sign of HIV 1/2 Infection with IgG/AgM Elisa What is this test? Teak do u know it? Also, it mentions in the units : qualitative. What do they mean by qualitative?
Avatar m tn I believe the test used is call HSV-2 Antibody IgG Elisa Euroimmun test, my result is 43.5 RU/ml which is a positive according to the index. I want to know what are the chances of a false positive for this index? And what are the chances that the index will be lowered to a point that it will become a negative?
Avatar m tn You also could request repeat testing by the HerpeSelect ELISA test, which give the numerical value I described above; or you could have another test with the BiokitUSA test (I don't know if it's marketed in Canada, e.g. as BiokitCanana?), which is a pretty good tie-breaker. But why mess around with the less certain tests? See above about Western blot testing.
12563078 tn?1427508556 btw the test i took 23 days after exposure said it was 4th gen elisa for p24 antigen and the test i took this time says hiv 1,2 ag/ab screening test (4th gen)
Avatar f tn s not, because it is now known that the Lyme bacteria can and do *suppress* your immune system, and your immune system activity against a Lyme infection is exactly what the W.blot/ELISA tests look for. The test result of the W.blot/ELISA tests can then wrongly say that you have no antibodies against Lyme, and therefore do not have Lyme, when actually it may be that the Lyme bacteria are just not being located and reported on the test results. More than you ever wanted to know, I'm sure ...
Avatar n tn Also, Ive never had any symptoms or anything. I got the test as a routine test after sex with someone just to keep my anxiety under control. No real reason to perform the test. Thanks for your help!
Avatar n tn I recently had a routine STD screening including the Herpes Select blood ELISA test for HSV I and II. My HSVI was less than 0.9 while my HSVII was 1.4. I am confused if I am positive for HSVII or not. While the threshold for this test is 1.1, there is a literature base to suggest that anything below 3.5 is false positive. I only had this test done as a routine screening, not because I currently have or had symptoms. Do the numbers of my test suggest that I have HSVI or HSVII?

Avatar m tn Indeterminate results also might indicate a false-positive screening test result, which is the most common interpretation for these results among those at low risk for HCV infection (23,24). Another sample should be collected for repeat anti-HCV testing (>1 month later) or for HCV RNA testing. http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/rr5203a1.
