Avatar n tn What is the difference in the Oralswab rapid test and unigold rapid finger prick test? Are they both just as accurate and sensitive? Is one better or more reliable than the other? Is it just better to test with ELISA test or is there a difference?
Avatar f tn Just found out that my blood was accepted by the lab at 7.00 in the morning and about 11.00 AM same day i got the results. Is it about right? for me it sounds too fast. someone knows the procedure?
Avatar f tn you never had a risk and don't need testing
Avatar m tn Being that the rapid test was taken closer to the 3 month mark, and was negative, why were four tests by the state lab (taken much earlier) indeterminate? Is the rapid test that much different from the EIA/ELISA test? Also, based on my limited research over the past month, I've never come across anything that would indicate that the EIA/ELISA test could be indeterminate. It is usually positive or negative. I also find it strange that the state lab has involved the CDC.
Avatar n tn Elisa and Wb will take much longer depending on the lab.. hope you know Wb is a confirmatory test not a diagnostic test..
Avatar m tn I took a hiv test at Austech Lab in CanleyHeight, Aus but that is antiody test not combo . I really make me annoy although the result is negative. They told me combo test isn't available in their Lab. it really annoyed me cause i hoped Combo test.
Avatar n tn Yes. ELISA irrespective of the generation does look for all strains and subtypes. You are not listening again, you don't have HIV.
Avatar m tn I got bloody bitten by an evil Sex worker during protected sex, I test Elisa by 39 days (in a very dirty bad lab.) & again by 41 days (in a reliable lab.), & then took an "Elisa & p24" test at 60 day, all came back with negative results. problem is that I have had diarrhea in 6 week of exposure & have had very bad coughs from end of 8 week till now in 10 week. also now at the end of 10 week I got lip herpes! where is the problem?
Avatar m tn A friend of mine took a random HIV test, the ELISA blood test at a diagnostic lab and the result came out positive. Completely aghast, my friend took a retest at the same lab and went to two other hospitals to get tested. One of the two hospitals conducted the ELISA on two separate kits, both these kits reported negative results. The other hospital too reported a negative result.
Avatar n tn I had a risk exposure with a unknon status CSW 3 months ago. After the 3 months I had done a HIV DUO Quick (p24 & abc) test in a private lab. The test result came out negetive. . HIV DUO Quick (p24 abc) test is a acqurate test at 3 months? But I did not done HIV 1&2 antibody ELISA Test. Need HIV 1&2 Anitbody (Elisa) to conclusive? Still I have skin rash, dry cough, white tongue and night sweat.
Avatar n tn Hi, probably more for setting my mind at peace than anything else but I will take a HIV test next week. The lab where I am seems to mention "HIV1/2 Elisa ... results". Can anyone tell me whether Elisa "tests" include a AB and AG tests or is it single AB test ? You might tell me 'ask the lab' but I am not in Europe nor in the US and I am not too sure that the nurse actually knows all about the biological part of the testing.
Avatar m tn that result also positive. both cases were weak test lines. so.on that day a lab and make ELISA lab test. and the result came back negative. all tests were performed 3 month after unsafe encounter. what should i do now?
Avatar f tn I called both labs and told them the contradictory results. On the lab with positive results they retook the test. On the lab of my negative results the Dr. told me that ELISA was fully automatic and the false-positive or false-positive were much lower than IFA test, and that IFA tests were dependent on human observation and more prone to human errors, that i should be certain i was negative.
Avatar m tn Is the above Elisa test accurate and should I take the high positive as a definite diagnosis of HSV-1? ? Or would a WB test in another 2 months be more helpful in this case?
Avatar m tn I recently had HIV test done in Advanced Dermatalogy Clinic in NYC. They drew blood from my vein and it took them only 30 minutes to produce a result. According to them it's not one of the point of care tests like Oraquick or Reveal. It's is in fact and Elisa test. They have a lab in the facility and say that the results are 99.9% correct. Is this believable? Would a respectable clinic lie to their patients? I never heard of such a quick turn around on Elisa test.
Avatar n tn Dear Doctor I need your help, as I faced a big problem today, I went to do HIV test today ( rapid one) and because I was in rush the doctor in the lab.
Avatar n tn can someone please answer that!!!!
Avatar m tn Once again, you never had an exposure.
Avatar m tn Correction: I found out (on the next few pages of the report) that I also have been tested for the following: HSV 1Glycoprotein G Ab, Ig (ELISA) = Negative (0.31) HSV 2 Glycoprotein G Ab, Ig (ELISA) = Negative (0.09) Based from the thread here and judging on the unreliability of the combined tests, it looks like I don't have HSV 1 or HSV2. But why did my GP told me that I have a herpes? I appreciate your guidance/ interpretation on my results.
