The Elisa antibody test is an Hiv test.I have never heard of it being used for anything other than the detection of antibodies for Hiv.

When I got my results back, I was shocked to be told that the Elisa test came back as HIV reactive at 1.52. They tested it twice. I really have no idea what that number stands for, though. elisa will detect antibody in blood as long the test was done after 3 month post exposure.. after 13 years??

I will advice you to do' Fourth Generation ELISA testing for HIV1/2' on 6 week after the exposure. Fourth generation ELISA for HIV1/HIV2 1) 4th generation ELISA is a DUO TEST (Antibody and Antigen Sandwich Test) .It actually looks for the P24 (protein) Antigen and Antibodies simultaneously. 2) P24 Antigen is almost always present in the body after acquiring the virus till the 4th week after infection and then it disappears .

I in 26 February is a girl without condoms for oral sex, 1 March to test center testing HIV, the test is CMIA and elisa.cmia reported to be positive in that report ELISA is negative. In Medicine, when elisa test is positive and western blot is negative, your HIV status is considered HIV Negative. But to rule out the possibilities, they perform PCR test. I am sure it will be negative. Let us know how it goes.

Is a HIV antibody blood test with WB includes tests for HIV-1, HIV-2, HIV-O reliable and conclusive 4 months after possible exposure? I went through this 2 years ago, and haven't really felt well since. I just need some reassurance.

particle agglutination is just another method... It's not the same as ELISA, but it's modern and reliable.
