My WB test was INDETERMINATE NEGATIVE and ELISA test result is also NEGATIVE (test was taken after 3 months of exposure). According to some internet sites, related to HIV/AIDS, I read that test result could be NEGATIVE during 'window period', even some one is infected (false result). I also read that WB TEST result could be INDETERMINATE if infected person is in 3rd stage (AIDS).
My query is if I am in 3rd stage (AIDS); could my result come NEGATIVE in ELISA TEST too ? Please help.
Because i was confused that all guys say afte positive elisa, WB should be done.

Had 8 week HIV elisa last week negative. Doc is ordering more blood tests. Can you Get HHV8 and not get HIV/AIDS?. Is it possible to skip HIV and get AIDS directly? Would HHV-8 be what caused all my symptoms (fever/neck ach/night sweats/nightmares/nausea/tiredness? If I was coinfected with HHV-8, HIV would it take longer than 8 weeks to show on elisa test? An Elisa test done post 3months mark after your initial exposure with no exposures in between will be conclusive about your status. Since you are in India. the guidelines is 6 months as per south Asian bodies, but u can absolutely trust any result thats post 3months mark. Also since u have said your encounters are post 8 months. u have covered the longest window period. Test is the only way to know your status, not symptoms.

I did the RT-PCR test in the end of May(around two months after my last exposure) and the ELISA test on June 17 (which is almost 90 days after my last exposure). Both of the test results are negative.But it is getting more and more AIDS-ilke symptoms on my body including muscle and joint pain, felling numb at fingers and toes,night sweating, continuous losing weight,Gingivitis,losing hairs and come up with bunch of Purpura on my arms and knees.

I live in an area that is highly infested with lymes disease which I am told can cause a false positive on the elisa for HIV-2 and I have also had the vaccine for lymes which would cause spirochete shaped antibodies that I am hoping could trigger a false positive. I have been tested for lymes and am still awaiting the results. I have no symptoms of lymes or aids. So what do you think is going on. what are the chances I actually have HIV-2 considering it is so rare.

If yes to 2, then is it possible to have OHL and test negative for HIV and the same time still be HIV+, but the ELISA test couldn't your antibodies yet?
4. Or basically when OHL does appear in HIV patients is it always way after the window period, so any person who is HIV+ and has been diagnosed OHL through a skin biopsy confirming the presence of the EBV on the lesions, would defientally test positive on a ELISA test?

I recently came across information that made me question the accuracy and validity of HIV testing. According to the information I came across HIV test don't test for HIV but rather for antibodies.
My question is: if this is the case then how accurate really are these tests? E.g, if someone contracted a viral disease such as chickenpox (which lasts a lifetime in the body) during their childhood wouldnt that mar their results (including viral load testing)?
1) It depends on what kind of STD you have acquired .Chlamydia,Gonorrhea,Syphilis and Trichomonas an be cured with antibiotics .While as STDs like herpes, Hepatitis-B and HIV are not curable .
2) Why a HIV+ person should be stopped from getting married? This is highly unethical.However he/she must take precaution(protected sex) while having sex .There is no law enacted in India which stops HIV+ people from getting married.
