My WB test was INDETERMINATE NEGATIVE and ELISA test result is also NEGATIVE (test was taken after 3 months of exposure). According to some internet sites, related to HIV/AIDS, I read that test result could be NEGATIVE during 'window period', even some one is infected (false result). I also read that WB TEST result could be INDETERMINATE if infected person is in 3rd stage (AIDS).
My query is if I am in 3rd stage (AIDS); could my result come NEGATIVE in ELISA TEST too ? Please help.
Your comment is very helpful but still i am confused. i did have rapid test but no Elisa in the latest (10 months). The lab boy said it too is accurate and once it comes positive then we perform Elisa.
As I told his penis might have secretion. So, could you please brief me whether the secretion before ejaculation carry HIV virus or not? If not, then I am sure I don't have it because it was just a second slip.

Because i was confused that all guys say afte positive elisa, WB should be done.
Many many people world wide die each day from an AIDS related complex yet they tested negative for HIV and the cause of death gets written off in the medical report as something other than AIDS when in reality it was a form of AIDS which caused the break down in the immunity system.

An Elisa test done post 3months mark after your initial exposure with no exposures in between will be conclusive about your status. Since you are in India. the guidelines is 6 months as per south Asian bodies, but u can absolutely trust any result thats post 3months mark. Also since u have said your encounters are post 8 months. u have covered the longest window period. Test is the only way to know your status, not symptoms.

Tthen my sample (positive) sent again to The ministery of Health, as HIV/AIDS department , centeral department of AIDS in my country, it is the last place the positive result should be sent . and i did not sleep for 7 nights waiting my result,
Then my ELISA comes Negative again, and i have been called by the head department that i should forget this case and it is negative. As you guys adivsed me to not test again. i tested and it comes negative this time again.
Few days later (total 10 days after exposure) I went to medical center and took an ELISA test the result is negative. At the same time I came down with diarrhea for few weeks. About 2 weeks later I experienced rash at neck and armpit. It is recovered now.

I did the RT-PCR test in the end of May(around two months after my last exposure) and the ELISA test on June 17 (which is almost 90 days after my last exposure). Both of the test results are negative.But it is getting more and more AIDS-ilke symptoms on my body including muscle and joint pain, felling numb at fingers and toes,night sweating, continuous losing weight,Gingivitis,losing hairs and come up with bunch of Purpura on my arms and knees.
I got tested for HIV too since I have read what you read and it has only been after 2 weeks of my last unprotected sexual encounter but the test is negative. Im going crazy knowing this test is not conclusive yet and that I could have it considering the Lyme results and tests... because I have no recollection of a tick "bite" or "rash" but have had Tonsilitious, cough and swollen glands in neck.
Dear doctor, Can HIV antibody be detected in last stage of AIDS patient by elisa test.One of my relative had several exposure in 9 years ago with prostitude when he was in a UN mission in africa. Some web site for example google books says antibody can not be detected at advanced stage of infection. Is it right.........He is suffering from some infection for months........His elisa test is negative.........please answer.....

5 days later I went for a HIV test, n I was tested non-rective through ELISA, it was a combo test.. It was my 2nd encounter with a CSW, the previous one was a protected one, these were the only two ocassions when I had sex, never before that, and not even once during these three months..
During this three months all I had caught was a little cold.. may be cuz i got completely drenched in the rain several time for hours... no other symptoms apart from that.
