I forgot to mention that Yaz contains 3mg of drospirenone, which is a form of spirlactone, which in turn is being used to treat my LOCAH symptoms.

Usually if someone is on birthcontrol pills, you will require more thyroid medication. Estrogen interferes with the binding of the thyroid medication. I haven't heard many good things about Yaz or Yasmine....my doctor wanted me on Yasmine until I said no way. I am now on low dose microgestin.....

I have been on treatment for PCOS for a year and a half now with Drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol birth control pills. My OB/GYN asked for a blood test in order to see how my hormones are doing. While I am content that my testosterone levels are within normal range (it was very high at the moment of diagnosis and I was suffering from many uncomfortable effects) my prolactin levels are 38.25. I understand that this is high but, is it very high? should I be concerned?
I was diagnosed with ENDOMOTROSIS early this year and just had surgery done/laparoscopy to take out the cells in my utereus two months ago. The DR. highly recommends that I stay on YAZ to control the endomotrosis and chances of having it develop to be cancerous, but i have had it with this crap, I hate my body now and I hate going out or taking pictures with my family and friends.
I started taking Yaz when I was about 17 years old to regulate my menstrual cycles. In the beginning when I was taking it, I had lost weight and noticed that i barely has problems with my cysts on my ovaries. It seemed to have shrunken them.I was doing fine for about a year, and stopped taking the pill. Then I got back on it a year later, and started having major signs of depression,weight gain,and just a change in my hormones.
Occasionally during the first couple of days, I have slight nerve pain down the back of my thigh. The only change in the past year was that I began taking the birth control pill, Yaz. Also, I am on 500mg of Vatrex daily simply for the assistance in possibly spreading the virus to my partner. But, it never seems to help with prevent or clear up these "episodes". I started taking Yaz two weeks ago I've had a good experience. the first week I had every symptom under the sun nausea, diaharreah headaches, but second week I 'm so happy my face has cleared up tremendously. Yasmine has a higher level of ethinyl estradiol (10ug more than Yaz) . Gianvi is the same formulation as Yaz, execept in generics fillers are different. Ocella is supposed to be the same as Yasmine, but fillers are diferrent and I reacted differently on ocella. Yaz has 24 pils and Yasmine 21. Yaz is supposed to take care of the PMDD symtoms better.

One minute I am on top of the world with a ton of energy and the next I want to climb in a hole. I started on Yaz birth control about 4 months ago. The last two months my moodiness has been worse than usual. After reading other people's experiences with yaz, I am starting to think my feelings are linked to this pill. I want to stop taking it and my husband is in support of that. Has anyone experienced similar feelings while taking Yaz?
