I hate to disagree with your OB but I do. Yaz and any estrogen product will effect the function of your thyroid and other hormones. I do not at all recommend being on any of these products. There are numerous studies available on this - and you should take it upon yourself to read up more on this. WAs the reason for Yz given b/c of something other than birth control?

The only meds she was taking at the last blood test was Prevacid for nausea. Before that she was taking Yaz for irregular periods, but since being off the Yaz, the T4 has not really gone down.
Her other symptoms are: constipation, weight loss, extreme fatigue, nausea, fluttering in chest/throat and most recently pressure in her head (squeezing feeling on top and sides). Does this sound like anything anyone has heard/experienced.

I just switched from Yaz .. back to yasmin. Yaz was horrible!!!!! I was very very depressed while taking yaz.. along with many other things. I switched to Yasmin because I was taking it before the Yaz and I had a great experience with it... So far I haven't had any problems with switching.
October 15 - Started YAZ, also my first day of period (4 days light period only)
November 10 - Period came
November 11 - Last day of YAZ (first pack)
November 12 - First pill of second pack of YAZ very heavy bleeding
November 13 VERY HEAVY BLEEDING
November 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 Regular bleeding
Nov19- 27 light bleeding
Nov 28 bleeding gone
I went to my OB November 24 and advised me to take my remaining YAZ 3x a day.

9: Both Yaz and Yasmine have similar formulas. Yasmine has a higher level of ethinyl estradiol (10ug more than Yaz) . Gianvi is the same formulation as Yaz, execept in generics fillers are different.
Generally, mixing any drug with alcohol is like a double whammy of toxin on your liver. Even tylenol and alcohol can cause serious problems. I, too, drank for about 5 years. It was pretty heavy (daily) for most of them. I also drank wine which I thought was somehow less offensive. I am 35, 5'6" and my normal weight is about 130 lb. After drinking as I did, my belly was swollen with ascites (fluid retention due to liver disease) and I looked pregnant.

with panic attacks and anxiety, I would suggest getting of Yaz altogether,
with the help of your family doctor. Wouldn't even finish the end of the
package of Yaz. I've heard it can cause blood clots. Seeing as you had
unprotected sex with your boyfriend, this would be a good time for a

No, I did not suffer from depression or anxiety prior to taking yaz. I started Yaz on a Thursday and by Sunday I was super excited to see my boyfriend and then that night and the following day its like someone flipped a switch on me..I just felt weird all the time..even with him. Do you know why that is? I started taking Cypralex a month into taking Yaz. I did go off Yaz within 9 days because i thought something was weird...
Hi, YAZ birth control pill causes cholelithiasis. According to studies done, YAZ birth control pill increases the risk of gallbladder disease only marginally. But if you are symptomatic, like if you have pain in the upper right quadrant or if you develop nausea or jaundice, discuss your symptoms with your consulting doctor he may change the dose or the medications. I had unprotected sex with my girlfriend 8 days after she started YAZ after being off of BC for months. I think I may have come a little inside, and pulled out for 97% of climax. I know the packaging says your protected after 7 days. But I usually ALWAYS use a condom, but slipped up this one time. Stupid I know. Other thing is, she doesnt take the pill at the same time every day. What are the odds she can be pregnant?
I am 26 and have been taking birth control for roughly 10 years with no breaks. I started taking Yaz roughly a year ago because my previous pill was giving me bad headaches. Now that I look back my first sign of anxiety and panic attacks happened shortly after i started taking yaz. I am not prone to panic or anxiety at all and am usually a very energetic happy person, but after reading up on yaz and it's effects online it seems it may be to blame?
I've been on both Yazmin and Yaz (a different version of yazmin). Both have done me no favors. Instead of reducing the days I'm on my period it increased it by 3 days, with horrible cramping. Yaz was the strangest for me though. My hormones were very much out of wack, and had absolutely no sex drive whatsoever! I would not recommend it. I have had several friends (4) try Yaz as well and had many problems. Hopefully you have called a doctor about your rash though.
Have you seen the write up on the YAZ pill and issues people have experienced as Bayer "maker" of YAZ has not kept to their promises in terms of how good this pill is compared to other contraceptives. In a forum on this website there were quite of bit of ladies who told thier stories relating to this pill, headaches, bad acne, heavy mood swings, lot of others. Is Yaz treating u well?

At the point of seeing a stranger in my reflection with no one left to tell i just stopped caring about even taking yaz and soon after i fell like i was slowly waking up. Please iam 22 years old i let yaz control 2 years of my precious youth dealing with over barring spilling emotions from hell STOP taking the legal pink pills that rapes you of your soul!!!! i would rather have 5 kids in 5 years then have to resort to that ****** up point of devastation ever ever again!!!
Watch out for Yaz. I'm 42 but a fitness nut, a non-smoker who's thin and active with no family history of any kind of clotting problems. I was on Yaz for six months before developing bilateral pulmonary emboli. I was in ICU for 3 days, the hospital for 2 more and am on blood thinners until October. My hematologist hasn't found a thing that predisposes me to clotting. Look around the internet. It seems like there is an unusually high number of life-threatening Yaz problems.
I tried Yaz for three months and just quit with a whole new unopened pack I'm not going to use. My trouble was intestinal distress. I couldn't eat anything without being sick--burning feeling in my gut, cramping, diarrhea, indigestion, gas, bloating. That was everyday all day long. I tried taking it first thing in the morning or last thing at night. Nothing stopped the diarrhea until I stopped taking it.
