I have heard about Yaz and Yasmin causing more of a risk for blood clots in women....BUT (yes there is a but) almost all birth control pills can cause blood clots especialy if you have had them before, or have had a family history of them. If your nurse wants you to switch to a genric then you can still take Yasmin (but it would be Ocella). It's the same thing.

2011 and the size of my cyst mall smaller then before 4,2cm and second time doctor suggest me to operation when i asking any solution then operation something like medicine or other he said to take Yaz Drospirenone+Ethinylestradiol,the question is did this pill will help because when I read all the effect use it very scared... m new to the community, see you posted last month. I was on Yasmin, I think its related to Yaz but not the same for about two years. I had some really odd symptoms with Yasmin and begged my dr to take me off of it, since then I was on Apri, which is just generic desogen.

Any birth control pill, well any birth control that has hormones in it can cause blood clots. But they are normally only risk for those who have a family history of clots, or who have suffered from clots before. I've never been on Yaz and the only birth control pills I have ever taken was/is Yasmin. No they are not the same. Yasmin or Ocella is a lower dose of birth conrtol, while Yaz is prescribed more often to those who suffer from PMDD (Premenstrual dysphoric disorder).

I just started to take yasmin not yaz and hope this helps me. I have been off the pill for years. I had no luck with the copper iud for 4 years hormone free but the bleeding never go less and the duration never did either. The nuva ring made me depressed tried that for 4 mnths after the iud. I am 39 and my hormones are changing greatly my which they say can happen at this age. my normal periods all my life are changing to every 21 day last period came 109 days later. My GYNsuggeseted the pill.

I am on my second week of Yaz-put on it for really bad PMS and extremely heavy periods. (When my period came back after having my daughter and nursing her for a year, my PMS symptoms got progressively worse each month.) Now, on YAZ, I am having mood swings from extreme calm to extreme anxiety (close to full blown panic attack) and back again. Because of your symptoms on Marvelon 21, your doctor can try a different pill like Yasmin (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) which is great for reducing acne. Talk with you doctor about your symptoms.

I want to stop using ortho tricyclin lo and switch to yasmin. I just started ortho a week ago but want to stop because the side effects I cant take anymore. (I have given it 3 months). When can I start Yasmin? Do I have to wait for my period?

i am on yaz and i am supposed to start my white pills in two days..today i saw some blood in my underwear what could this mean? is this normal?

I have only been taking Yasmin for a few days now however, I seem to be getting some strange side effects. I keep having these short sort of dizzy spells. I don't actually lose conciousness. I just feel as if I'm dreaming for a second or two. Also I do smoke but am currently trying to give up. Since starting Yasmin, the smell of smoke and smoking itself has become nauseating. Thats also another one to add. Nausea and hot flashes. Also I've lost some of my sense of taste.

I am on Yaz and have been on it for almost 2 months before I started taking Yaz I was on the Depo shot. On my second pack of Yaz I missed two pills one on Monday and one on Wednesday I took them right when I remembered to but I'm afraid maybe I could get pregnant ..what are the chances??

I am going through the same thing right now. I have been on Yaz for over a half a year. I'm not sure if it is the Yaz causing it or something else. I dont know of Yaz having that sort of a side effect. Sorry I cant help much.

NOOO dont listen to that lady tryingfor6years on the yasmin birth control im in the process of sueing yasmin to see if i can get any kind of money from it!! after i stoped taken yasmin my stomach issues have gone away! i was in the hospital with ivs in me and cat scans etc... dont get yasmin there are reports of it on the internet etc. that product is going to be no longer sold as a birth control product.

Reading all of the posts on another part of this forum elated to yasmin and yaz is very scary. My life has been seriously affected by taking yasmin for four years. If I only knew back then what I know now. Please consider the long term effects of taking any birth control pill, not just yasmin or yaz. They primarily work by putting your ovaries to sleep. The pill shuts down your own natural production of hormones and replaces them with lab manufactured hormones.

Has anyone had any bad effects from using Yasmin birth control? I had my iud removed and the dr. put me on yasmin but before i start taking them i just wanted sme feedback... thank you...

You could also talk to you doctor about switching to Yaz.. When I took Yaz I never had a period.. my doctor said this was fine.. that in ppl yaz will either shorten your period to a day/two.. or take it away completely. .. .. your doctor would know best!
