Just like me, your doctor should have warned you not to get pregnant while on it, and mine never did! The possible side effects for tetracyclines are shortened limbs or blackening of the teeth when the child is older but the chances are veryyyy low because you are so early! I spent weeks worrying I hurt the baby but I took them early on too.
Can someone tell me what STDs can be treated with Doxycycline? Can you list all of them please? Thank you.
I am a little nervous to take this while I am in the 2 week wait. Also, if I am pregnant it makes me more nervous. She gave it to me because when I was pregnant around 6 months ago I got 2 uti's. I ended up losing the pregnancy, but to this day they don't know why because everything was going so great. She wants me to avoid the uti's by taking this medicine. Has anyone else taken this medicine while in the 2 week wait or while pregnant? Did you cause any problems?
ve had brown discharge only no periods my gynecologist told me it was because of the lining of my uterus shedding. this year in late Feb. or early Mar. i was prescribed to take doxycycline it stopped my brown discharge until about a week ago the brown discharge has returned. the last time i had unprotected sex was about a month ago so I'm concerned i might be pregnant. can anyone provide some insight?

Hello, I am 18 years old and I was prescribed doxycycline for my acne and have been using it daily since April 18th. My boyfriend and I have been sexually active, but we use a condom every time (that is our only form of contraception). After each time, he checks to make sure there's no leak and there hasn't been. Our first time was May 3rd, I got my period May 5th and it ended on May 8th, which is one to two days before it usually ends. We had sex 4 times while on my period.
The symptoms of chlamydia (burning while peeing and discharge) subsided during days 2-4 of taking the Doxycycline. Today is day 5, and I had a burning while I pee and what looks like clear discharge.
Is this normal during treatment, or is the chlamydia trying to fight through the antibiotics?
Also, how soon can I engage in sexual activity without having to worry about transmitting it to my partner?
