I posted here because I was curious if anyone knew about fluoroquinolone resistance in C. Trachomatis (levofloxacin vs. ciprofloxacin, bacteriostatic or bactericidal effects), or anything along those lines.
For anyone reading this in a similar position, I followed up with my urologist over the phone, who advised that a recurrence of swelling and pain after d/c'ing antibiotics is typical with epididymitis and a NSAID like ibuprofen should be all that's needed.
Few weeks later i got a uninary tract infection . for 3 weeks I have and still been under antibiotics (levofloxacin,ciprofloxacin,clarithromycin,doxycycline and cefuroxime ) i went for an Hiv test 6 weeks after exposure and was negative. I once had extreme fatigue for a whole day during this medication.. My question is could these antibiotics delay immune response to Hiv and thus delay antibody production???
I have been treated for this now 4 times, have not had sex in a year with my fiance and my test continues to come back positive. I have been treated with the doxycycline everytime because the other medication I am unable to take due to allergies. Are there any other treatments other than the doxycycline and azithromyacine?
m still waiting on the results. They put me on doxycycline which seemed to take my symptoms away but as soon as I ran out the symptoms came back. They put me on levofloxacin but it did nothing so now I'm back on Doxycycline. What is going on with me? It is driving me insane.
He put me on different multiple month long trails of clindamycin, bactrim ,Levofloxacin, doxycycline, and and all of them did the same thing, while on them the symptoms go away but as SOON as i finish the dosage the symptoms come right back. He even did test on me where he put me to sleep and looked in my penis with a tiny camera. as well as sent me to a lab where they tested to see if their was a blockage to see if something was blocking my pee passageway. nothing.

He prescribed me with a 10 day Doxycycline. A few days in my testicular region was very sore, but as I got done with the full 10 days and felt normal. I went back for a re-test on the last day of the doxycycline, but still came back positive for chlamydia. So currently I’m taking a 14 day prescription for Levofloxacin. I’m on my 6th day. Still no symptoms. No pain after urination, no discharge, and no testicular pain.
My questions are:

About 4 months ago I had protected sex with a sex worker and the condom broke (big mistake). The next day i wake up and my foreskin is swollen like 5x its normal size all the way around(I start freaking out). This subsided next day but then 2-3 weeks later a burning sensation appears at the tip of my penis and has been constant now for 4 months. I have had 2 very mild dribbling discharges and a big one after completion of leprofloxcin.
Test for chlamydia and gonorrhea came out negative and the urine test was clean. I started with antibiotic (levofloxacin 2 weeks). I tested 2 days after starting with antibiotic for Syphilis. It was quick blood test and came out negative. So far I had totally no symptoms of any of these Stds except the pain and swelling of the left testis and pain in my back down and groin in same side. The pain was mild and it come and go so not consistent.
I went to the doctor and got doxycycline 7 days and chloramphenicol gel for topical Tx. The red sore started bleeding a bit, like what happens when you pop a pimple, and went away in around 4 to 5 days but these white, painless, tiny / pinpoint spots started appearing on the corona of my penis in two rows. They haven't changed in size and numbers after around 3-4 days, and it's now a week since the initial discovery of the sore.
Three days later I got burning and constant urination. I started 100 mg doxycycline (big mistake) without taking any test. I then visited my go who put me on one week 250 my levofloxacin and pyridium. The pain did not go away. I visited. A urologist who conducted two rounds of blood and urine test- no infection. A week after doxy dosage I took a std test for gonorrhoea chlamydia and ureaplasma. All negative.
Three weeks later the testicular pain (no discharge still) came back and I rushed back to the clinic, I was given a swab test,shot of rocephin, and doxycycline. The doxycycline made me very nauseous and caused me severe vomiting. I discontinued the use of it and was given levofloxacin. Meanwhile, the std swab tests came back negative. I didnt take the levofloxacin, because I wasn’t sure if I even needed it since I havent been properly diagnosed. I made an appointment with an actual Doctor.
Three days later I have started to get burning sensation in my penis followed by constant urination.I had taken a course of doxycycline and levofloxacin for a period of seven days. post that I have completed urine and blood test which has returned negative. I have also been checked for Gonorohhea, Chlamydia. Urea plasma, VDRL Syphillis, candidasis, trichomonas, trepnoma- All have been tested negative but my pain in the urethra persist.
Pregnant women should not take doxycycline, ofloxacin, or levofloxacin, but azithromycin is considered to be both safe and effective. Follow-up is not recommended for non-pregnant patients with chlamydia because of the high efficacy of treatment. However, if you have been diagnosed with chlamydia during pregnancy, you should return to your doctor for a check-up 3 weeks after you’re done with treatment since there are potentially serious consequences for your pregnancy and your unborn child.
She treated me with 1 cefixime pill and one other pill that I cannot remember while also taking doxycycline 100mg for 10 days twice daily (June 2016 at this point). Once all 10 days of the antibiotics were done I felt better and had no testicle irritation or discomfort for the next 8 months.
Recently I noticed my testicle feeling weird January 2017 with mild aching that felt familiar to my previous experience with "Epididymitis".

I went to a walk in clinic the following day for the Doctor to briefly look into my ear and said it was "buldging" she sent me home with Doxycycline and OTC Allegra and told me to come back in 3 days if there was no improvement.

And the question is: does this sound like chlamydia? or any other STD in fact? I'm thinking it isn't by the timeframe of last genital sexual contact, and that I took BOTH doxycyclien and levofloxacin which are effective against Chlamydia trachomatis. But I just want to ask here to see what you guys think about the symptoms related to my testes.

I ended up getting a new round of antibiotics, 500 mg of levofloxacin for 7 days.
Pending the results, the doctor had given me 7 days 2x100mg doxycycline which resolved symptoms quickly and I thought the infection was cleared. However, 5 days after the course was over, the white discharge returned.
I made an appointment at my GP, but meanwhile I developed a strange "adrenaline-rush" type sensation giving me cold feet, restlessness and weak legs.
